• [p]Challenger 2 Streetfighter II Tier 10 Premium Main Battle Tank[/p]
 • [p]Panzer 87-140 Tier 10 Premium Main Battle Tank[/p]
[p]Between April 7 and April 14, 2026, the following items will be available:[/p][p][/p]
Panzer 87-140
[p][/p][p]The Panzer 87-140 is an experimental version of Panzer 87 (Swiss Leopard 2A4), fitted with a RUAG 140mm smoothbore cannon and an armor kit called WE. It was developed in the 1980s and early 1990s to counter the next generation of Soviet MBTs, but with the collapse of the Soviet Union, the project was shelved, only to resurface around 2005-2006 but never passing the experimental stage. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.[/p][p][/p][p]In Armored Warfare, the Panzer 87-140 is a Tier 10 Premium Main Battle Tank. Much like other Leopard series MBTs, it’s a long-range fighter with an extremely powerful gun and the ability to fire with pinpoint accuracy. Even though its armor leaves much to be desired, at long range, this MBT has few equals and can be considered one of the best snipers of its class.[/p][p]The Panzer 87-140 Tier 10 Premium MBT is available in our Web Shop via Loot Crates. Collect 100 blueprint pieces from these crates to obtain the vehicle.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p]
Challenger 2 Streetfighter II
[p][/p][p]The Streetfighter II is an upgrade program to overhaul the venerable Challenger 2 Main Battle Tank for the conditions of modern battlefields, especially urban combat. It features a number of improvements and extra components, most notably a dozer blade, a Brimstone ATGM twin launcher and an advanced camera system by Elbit. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.[/p][p][/p][p]In Armored Warfare, the Challenger 2 Streetfighter is a Tier 10 Premium Main Battle Tank. Its main advantages include excellent frontal armor (enhanced by the presence of its dozer blade covering its lower frontal plate), increased ramming damage and long range lethality, courtesy of a powerful ATGM launcher. Whether you desire to bring the fighting up close or support other MBTs at distance, the Streetfighter’s got your back.[/p][p]The Challenger 2 Streetfighter II Tier 10 Premium MBT is available in our Web Shop via Loot Crates. Collect 100 blueprint pieces from these crates to obtain the vehicle.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]We hope that you will enjoy this offer and, as usual:[/p][p]See you on the battlefield![/p]

In Development: AMPV 30

[p]Commanders![/p][p]Today we’d like to tell you more about the third and (sort of) final vehicle from the upcoming Force Recon Battle Path – the AMPV 30.[/p][p][/p][p]Now, you might be a bit confused at this point – why’s the Battle Path called “Force Recon” when the final vehicle is a massive, brick-like APC? Not to worry, we’ll explain everything in the article. But first, a bit of history as usual.[/p][p]The name AMPV stands for “Armored Multi-Purpose Vehicle” and that’s all there is to it, really. It is a multi-purpose armored carrier, intended to replace the by now utterly obsolete M113 still in service in the U.S. Army. At first glance it represents a Bradley Fighting Vehicle without a turret, which is kind of ironic given how the Bradley program also began as a lightly armored vehicle instead of an IFV (only, four decades earlier).[/p][p]And that’s what it really is because, when the AMPV program began in late 2014, one of the initial requirements for the vehicle was a high level of part commonality with the Bradley. Five different variants were initially envisaged:[/p]
 • [p]General purpose carrier (M1283)[/p]
 • [p]Armored ambulance (M1284) for evacuation[/p]
 • [p]Armored medical vehicle (M1285) for treatment[/p]
 • [p]Command center (M1286)[/p]
 • [p]Mortar carrier (M1287) with a 120mm mortar on board[/p]
[p]Initially, 2907 vehicles were ordered to replace the 2897 service M113s. As stated above, the vehicle had a lot in common with the Bradley, including its aluminum hull derived from the Bradley, drivetrain, and its Cummins 600hp VTA903 engine. Due to its lack of turret and larger size, it offered considerably more internal volume (roughly 80% mode than the M113) while still being air-transportable by the U.S. C-17 Globemaster plane (which was another requirement).[/p][p][/p][p]The vehicle is (for an APC) relatively well armored with its aluminum hull and appliqué composite armor (featuring ceramic inlays) protection the vehicle from 14.5mm bullets (STANAG 4569 Level 4). Additional ERA kit and cage armor can be mounted on top of that and the vehicle was also tested with the Trophy hard-kill APS. NBC protection, automatic fire extinguishing system and modern spall liners are also included.[/p][p]Mobility-wise, the AMPV is no slouch as it can go as fast as 60 km/h. The vehicle can also swim – sort of, with floating screens deployed. All that while weighing some 34 to 36 tons, depending on the configuration. The vehicle typically has a crew of two (commander and driver) and in its general purpose configuration is armed with a machinegun or a grenade launcher.[/p][p]The first prototype was delivered in 2016 with 29 more produced between 2017 and 2018. These were thoroughly tested at the Aberdeen proving grounds and the vehicle was approved for low-rate initial production (LRIP). The first mass-produced vehicle of this batch came off the assembly line in York (Pennsylvania) in mid-2020 with full-rate production ramping up in March 2024. The vehicle officially entered U.S. service in 2023. By November 2025, more than 500 vehicles were delivered with the current estimate (April 2026) being more than 600 in service. The production is ongoing and will be for quite some time.[/p][p][/p][p]But that’s not the end of the AMPV story. Starting from early 2024, several new versions of the AMPV were shown with different 30mm turrets integrated into it. These were (for example) various anti-aircraft and anti-drone configurations and included (amongst other things) the EOS 800S turret, the Oshkosh MCWS turret and the RIWP turret you might be familiar with already from Boxer RIWP that is already in the game.[/p][p]And it is this configuration that we have for you today – with a plot twist.[/p][p]In Armored Warfare, the AMPV 30 will be a Tier 10 Premium Armored Fighting Vehicle.[/p][p]As you can probably tell from the screenshots, the vehicle we have for you is a combination of an AMPV hull (the basic version with some composite plating) and the RIWP turret you already known from Boxer RIWP – specifically the hybrid configuration of Hellfires and top-attack Javelin guided missiles.[/p][p]So what does make this vehicle different from the Boxer, we hear you ask? A whole bunch of things do, including its main ability. Let’s take a look at them one by one.[/p][p][/p][p]First, let’s talk protection. The AMPV is basically an archetypal example of what’s commonly referred to video games as “bullet sponge” – the armor itself won’t be that thick and the vehicle features no ERA or NERA armor. Nor does it have a hard-kill APS (although there is a soft-kill one available). What it does have is a very high amount of hitpoints and reduced module damage taken, allowing it to tank even the heaviest of hits without becoming instantly crippled by broken modules. In this regard, it is quite forgiving.[/p][p]Still, it isn’t a front-line vehicle. The AMPV, much like its real-life counterpart, should act as a fire support platform, which is why it has all those fancy weapon systems – two Hellfires, two Javelins and the ever-popular 30mm autocannon pack quite a punch. It can also carry mechanized infantry (or trade it for supercharged soft-kill APS) and has decent mobility (a bit slower but more agile than the Boxer).[/p][p][/p][p]All in all, we’re looking at a durable and relatively forgiving AFV – not bad in its own right. But that’s not all there is to it.[/p][p]The AMPV comes equipped with a special new missile type – Loitering Recon Ammunition (LRA). Simply put, the LRA is a FPV missile with an inert warhead that can’t really deal any significant damage upon impact. What it can do, however, (unlike the other FPV missiles) is spot targets. In this regard, it’s basically a recon drone – you control it and it spots targets ahead of itself (even if they are on the other end of the map).[/p][p]If you’re thinking that this puts it at an advantage compared to regular spotters, you’re right. Which is why other vehicles will receive this missile type as well – in fact, we’ll be changing the entire spotting paradigm. That alone deserves a separate article which will be unveiled in the future.[/p][p][/p][p]However, before we finish, there’s one more thing you should know about the AMPV – its appearance will be tied to a new Legendary Vehicle that will arrive either with the Battle Path, or shortly after. Much like the XM1302 – Longstreet connection, the AMPV will also act as a prerequisite in this case.[/p][p]And that’s it for today, commanders. Thank you for your attention and, as always:[/p][p]See you on the battlefield![/p]

In Development: Stridsvagn 122

[p]Commanders![/p][p]Today we’d like to tell you more about the second vehicle from the upcoming Force Recon Battle Path – the Stridsvagn 122 Main Battle Tank.[/p][p][/p][p]The Stridsvagn 122 is a Swedish version of the Leopard 2A5 Main Battle Tank featuring a number of improvements.[/p][p]After the end of the Cold War in the early 1990s, Sweden took a long hard look at the state of its armed forces. Despite the traditional Swedish neutrality, the Soviet Union was seen as the obvious opponent in a potential defensive war, which led, amongst other things, to the adoption of the unique turretless Stridsvagn 103 (also known as the S-Tank) in the 1960s alongside a more traditional Centurion. However, by the early 1990s, both were hopelessly obsolete – a fact that was underlined by a series of trials that took place between 1992 and 1994.[/p][p]These trials were designed to take a look at a future Swedish MBT with pure performance not being the sole focus – emphasis was also given on a potential interoperability with the NATO. Three tanks were looked at – Leopard 2A4, M1A2 Abrams and Leclerc (which was mostly seen as an outlier).[/p][p]Long story short – the Leopard won, which led to the purchase of 160 older German Leopard 2A4 tanks in 1994 (under the designation Stridsvagn 121), preceding the order of 120 improved Leopard 2A5 tanks. Ironically, the Germans themselves had chosen a worse configuration than the Swedes, making the Swedish order the most advanced series of Leopards at the time.[/p][p][/p][p]The first prototypes would be ready in 1995 and the whole batch would be delivered between 1996 and 2002. The first 29 vehicles were assembled in Germany while the rest was already built directly in Sweden.[/p][p]The improvements compared to the German variant included primarily improved armor (which made the tank roughly 3 tons heavier) with different composition, making it more durable than the German original. Notably, the roof armor is thicker as well. Later upgrades would also add anti-mine and anti-IED protection. The original smoke grenade launchers were replaced by the French GALIX system. The tank also featured some Swedish-specific electronics and comms, a modified Fire Control Systems and several other smaller elements.[/p][p]The tank officially entered service in 2007 and remains in service to this day. The original variant is now referred to Stridsvagn 122A. There’s also the Stridsvagn 122B variant with improved anti-IED protection, which was created as a response to the early 2000s War on Terror. Another sub-variant of Strv 122 was developed in 2005, featuring a new commander panoramic optic with a thermal imager. This fully stabilized optic is called PLSS and was developed by SAAB as a private venture. It was installed on an extendable mast for improved field of view. Between 1 and 4 prototypes were built but the upgrade never appeared in service.[/p][p][/p][p]However, a different, more comprehensive upgrade called Stridsvagn 123A is currently in progress. As you can likely guess from the different number, this is a major upgrade that includes the installation of the longer L/55 gun with cutting edge Fire Control System capable of handling programmable ammunition. This upgrade comes along with Stridsvagn 123B, which is the designation for newly ordered Leopard 2A8 tanks.[/p][p]Of the original 120 tanks, 110 should undergo this overhaul with the other 10 having been donated to Ukraine in mid-2023. There, the tank was highly praised for its durability but given the limited amount of spare parts and the low number available, it was difficult to keep the vehicles running and by mid-2025, their deployment was considered to be over.[/p][p][/p][p]In Armored Warfare, the Stridsvagn 122 will be a Tier 8 Premium Main Battle Tank.[/p][p]True to its origins, the Stridsvagn 122 will essentially be a better armored but a bit slower Leopard 2A5 (given its higher weight) with some other smaller differences that, however, do change its gameplay a bit compared to the original. These include:[/p]
 • [p]Thicker armor (especially lower frontal plate, bottom and roof), providing the tank with more durability against top-attack and FPV missiles[/p]
 • [p]Improved smoke grenades[/p]
 • [p]Programmable HE ammunition (in real life, Sweden bought a batch from Israel) that explodes above target[/p]
[p]As you have also likely noticed, our Strv 122 features the PLSS optics, which can be extended when using the Active Sights ability, which trades higher viewrange for camouflage.[/p][p][/p][p]Otherwise, the performance will be similar to the (top) version of the Leopard 2A5 with slightly lower mobility due to its weight (62 tons).[/p][p]We aren’t going to go deeper into its characteristics at this point – much like on the BKM-1, they are preliminary and should be considered work in progress.[/p][p][/p][p]And that’s it for today, commanders. Thank you for your attention and, as always:[/p][p]See you on the battlefield![/p]
