Commanders!

This week, we’ve prepared another set of attractive items for you:
 • Leopard 2 Revolution Wallbreaker Tier 8 Premium Main Battle Tank
 • Leopard 2 Revolution Tier 8 Premium Main Battle Tank
 • Kampfpanzer 70 Tier 6 Premium Main Battle Tank

 • Leclerc T40 Tier 9 Premium Tank Destroyer
 • Marder 2 Tier 8 Premium Armored Fighting Vehicle
 • AMX 10 RCR Tier 8 Premium Tank Destroyer
 • Rise of the Dragon Loot Crate
Between December 29, 2022 and January 5, 2023, the following items will be available:
Leopard 2 Revolution
The Leopard 2 Revolution is a continuation of the older Evolution upgrade, intended to improve the performance of the older variants of the Leopard 2 Main Battle Tank in order to make it excel even on the battlefields of the 21st century. The improvements include a comprehensive armor upgrade, ROSY soft-kill APS and smoke grenade launchers as well as an entire suite of cutting edge electronics. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.

In Armored Warfare, the Leopard 2 Revolution is a Tier 8 Main Battle Tank. It is not only well-armored, it also features an extremely accurate 120mm gun with advanced ammunition, allowing it to destroy its opponents at very long ranges, rivaling those of Tank Destroyers. The German tanks in general perform best at longer ranges and the Revolution is no exception.

This offer also includes the Wallbreaker version. This vehicle features unique Berlin Wall-themed camouflage.
Kampfpanzer 70
The Kampfpanzer 70 is the German sibling of the MBT-70. Back in the 1960s, the Germans and the Americans cooperated on the creation of a new, highly advanced Main Battle Tank, armed with a powerful 152mm gun and cutting edge technology. The project was a failure and the tank was never adopted for several reasons, including an extremely high price. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.

In Armored Warfare, the Kampfpanzer 70 is a Tier 6 Premium Main Battle Tank, just like the MBT-70. Although both vehicles generally look the same way, there are some differences. For one, the Kampfpanzer 70 cannot fire the Shillelagh guided missiles, but can use HE ammunition, making it truly deadly against lightly armored opponents.
Panzer 87-140
The Panzer 87-140 is an experimental version of Panzer 87 (Swiss Leopard 2A4), fitted with a RUAG 140mm smoothbore cannon and an armor kit called WE. It was developed in the 1980s and early 1990s to counter the next generation of Soviet MBTs, but with the collapse of the Soviet Union, the project was shelved, only to resurface around 2005-2006 but never passing the experimental stage. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.

In Armored Warfare, the Panzer 87-140 is a Tier 10 Premium Main Battle Tank. Much like other Leopard series MBTs, it’s a long-range fighter with an extremely powerful gun and the ability to fire with pinpoint accuracy. Even though its armor leaves much to be desired, at long range, this MBT has few equals and can be considered one of the best snipers of its class.

The Panzer 87-140 Tier 10 Premium MBT is available in our Web Shop via Loot Crates. Collect 100 blueprint pieces from these crates to obtain the vehicle.
Leclerc T40
Sometimes called the French Terminator, this vehicle was designed on the Leclerc MBT chassis with one purpose in mind – to accompany tanks and fight off infantry attacks the same way as the Russian BMPT series does. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.

In Armored Warfare, the Leclerc T40 is a Tier 9 Premium Tank Destroyer. It offers you a combination of a durable hull, rapid-fire 40mm automatic cannon and, most importantly, the Javelin missile system. Simply right-click the target, wait until it becomes locket and fire the Javelin ATGM – it will home itself on the target, attacking its weak roof armor. Thanks to this ability, the Leclerc T40 is one of the most destructive vehicles in the game.
Marder 2
The Marder 2 was an experimental German IFV, developed in the late 1980s to replace the aging Marder IFV. It featured more armor, a new turret and a brand-new Rheinmetall dual-caliber autocannon that could fire both 35mm and 50mm rounds. Despite its qualities, the vehicle was never accepted in service due to its high cost and because it was no longer needed because of the fall of the Soviet Union. A single surviving prototype can be found today in the Koblenz military collection. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.

In Armored Warfare, the Marder 2 is a Tier 8 Armored Fighting Vehicle. With its 44 tons, it’s one of the heaviest and toughest AFVs around. Unlike many other AFVs of its Tier, it is not armed with guided missiles, relying instead on its extremely powerful 50mm autocannon. This vehicle can also deploy Mechanized Infantry.
AMX-10 RCR
The AMX 10 RCR is the updated variant of the French AMX 10 RC fire support vehicle by GIAT, originally developed in the early 1980s. This light and nimble wheeled 6x6 AFV was armed with a 105mm gun, allowing it to knock out even armored targets at considerable distances. Over 200 of these aging vehicles were upgraded by Nexter in 2010 with improved armor and electronics, enabling them to fulfill modern battlefield tasks until their eventual replacement by the Jaguar. You can learn more about its history in our dedicated article!

In Armored Warfare, the AMX 10 RCR is a Tier 8 wheeled Premium Tank Destroyer. It’s incredibly agile with its wheeled chassis allowing it to outrun pretty much any enemy on the battlefield save for the fastest AFVs. Its gun accuracy is also top notch, making this vehicle perfect for sniper-style gameplay as its thin armor can’t protect it against enemy shells at close distances. This vehicle also comes with the Hydraulic Suspension active ability.

Clicking the link below will open the game’s launcher. Please select the Market option on the left and select Armored Warfare to access this offer.
Rise of the Dragon Loot Crate
The Rise of the Dragon Loot Crate is now available. This Loot Crate contains Rise of the Dragon Battle Coins and Boosters.

 • Battle Coins are the primary currency of the Rise of the Dragon Battle Path campaign and are used to progress through it and to obtain its prizes.
 • Battle Coin Boosters are usable only during an active Battle Path and increase your Battle Coin income by 900 percent for two hours.

Please note that you have to obtain the access to a Battle Path to use both items.

Clicking the link below will open the game’s launcher. Please select the Market option on the left, select Armored Warfare and then the Chest section to access this offer.

We hope that you will enjoy the offer and, as always:

See you on the battlefield!

Developer Diary: Lynx Skyranger Update

Commanders!

It’s been a while since we announced the Lynx Skyranger Tier 10 Premium AFV and we’d like to return to it with an update. The original article features the general description of the vehicle’s weapon systems and capabilities and we’d like to disclose more about their current state and how the vehicle will be played.

The main idea behind the Skyranger is burst damage as well as anti-scouting. In other words, the 30mm gun will have the ability to deal damage in short (or longer) bursts followed by periods of cooldown. The 30mm Oerlikon gun uses the Gatling gun mechanics with AP ammunition as such:
 • 2-second bursts
 • 80 damage per shot
 • Deals reduced damage even upon non-penetration

The gun can tear up a Centauro 120 in three bursts providing you are aiming at a green area. It’s also quite accurate – it can do so at 300 meters. However, against heavier targets it’s far less effective and don’t even try to engage MBTs frontally using this ammo type – it won’t work.

The second ammunition type – High Explosive Programmable – does pretty much exactly what the initial announcement article mentioned. It explodes above a target dealing damage to the roof using its blast wave (or “splash” in Armored Warfare terms). Firing at a target directly makes it behave pretty much exactly like any normal HE ammunition.

To use its special features, you must aim slightly above the target. Since this requires careful aiming, it’s only possible against static targets unless you have an exceptionally accurate hand.

When used correctly, this firing mode can deal devastating damage to almost any static target in hulldown position. Against MBTs it often destroys the turret-mounted APS and damages its gun, leaving the target open to attacks by other players and unable to retaliate. However, this type of ammo is very situational and only skilled players will be able to use it to its fullest potential.

The third weapon system is the Starstreak missile. Starstreak is not a true ATGM – it’s a dual-purpose warhead that’s possible to use against ground targets in real life. However, such a use is not its primary intended function – it’s still an anti-air missile. It is therefore quite small and deals limited damage.

To make it viable, the Armored Warfare version works like a kinetic missile. It doesn’t deal a whole lot of damage (especially at short ranges) but the further from you the target is, the more damage will the missile deal and the more armor will it penetrate. Compare the values at 50 meters:
 • 400 points of damage per launch
 • 500mm of penetration

To the values at 600 meters:
 • 600 points of damage per launch
 • 1000mm of penetration

The missile also flies very fast (2000 m/s) and ignores enemy APS. As the description suggests, the missile should not be used at close ranges (that’s what your gun is for). You can launch two missiles in rapid succession (2 seconds between launches). Together, they can deal roughly 700-1000 damage, followed by 14 seconds of reload time. Once again, it is a situational weapon that’s best suited against targets far from you where it will deal more damage than your cannon bursts.

And finally there’s the active ability, the High Energy Laser. Simply put, it reduces the enemy viewrange by 70% for 18 seconds, followed by 20 seconds of cooldown. This can be a useful tool against passive scouts that can buy you a few seconds of time. Doesn’t sound like much but it can make all the difference in the world in certain situations.

And that’s pretty much it. The vehicle has NERA-covered hull but its unmanned turret is fairly vulnerable to all kinds of incoming damage – this is not a front-line fighter, it should stay behind stronger vehicles at all times. At the same time it’s quite large and has a corresponding camouflage factor of 20% which really isn’t all that much. On the bright side, it does have the Recon Package, a special set of sensors and a very high baseline spotting range.

If you’ve made it this far into the article, you’ve probably realized that unlike the Namer, this won’t exactly be a new player friendly vehicle. The Lynx Skyranger is a specialized tool that can deal a lot of damage under certain circumstances. Nonetheless, some careful gameplay will be required.

We hope you will enjoy it and, as always:

See you on the battlefield!
