Contest Highlights #2: RV-22 Nemesis

[p]Commanders![/p][p]The Design a Legendary Vehicle entry phase is over. We have received more than 400 submissions and right off the bat, let us be clear about one thing.[/p][p]The sheer amount of high quality submissions surprised us immensely, in a good way. It will take some time so sift through the results. We will therefore only be checking for the Legendary Blueprint requirement at the moment of the vote publication, giving you some more time to catch up if you haven’t already.[/p][p]With that out of the way, let us take a look at another contest entry called RV-22 Nemesis, as submitted by FLANKER_22. The contest entry represents pretty much a model case of how an entry should look like and we’re happy to introduce it to you as well.[/p][p][/p][p]History:[/p][p]Unlike the last entry, this is a fictional Main Battle Tank that was designed by the author. That means that the “history” part is more of a background story that goes like this:[/p][p]The RV-22 Nemesis is designed as a Technical Breakthrough MBT that excels in active defensive combat and Hull-Down maneuvers. Featuring a low-profile unmanned turret, this tank offers higher sustainability values than other MBTs in its class. Its primary role is a frontline anchor, capable of maintaining constant pressure without exposing weak points, thanks to its highly flexible ATGM system.[/p][p][/p][p]The history of the RV-22 began in 2022 as a direct response to a critical shift in armored warfare. Intelligence reports indicated that next-generation Main Battle Tank (MBT) armor had become virtually impenetrable to standard 120mm and 125mm kinetic penetrators. Global military forces required a platform capable of housing massive 140mm smoothbore cannon without sacrificing mobility or crew safety. This initiative was codenamed “Project Revenant.”[/p][p]Engineers quickly realized that traditional manned turrets were too heavy and vulnerable to accommodate such a large weapon system. To solve this, a radical design was implemented: the entire crew was relocated into a reinforced armored capsule (The Citadel) within the front hull. This allowed the turret to operate entirely unmanned, significantly reducing the vehicle's silhouette and making the RV-22 an exceptionally difficult target to acquire on the battlefield.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]During initial field trials, the massive 140mm main gun faced limitations in urban and mountainous terrain due to its physical size. To bridge this tactical gap, the Independent Robotic Pivot ATGM system was integrated. Its unique ability to launch dual-salvo missiles from extreme vertical angles—striking targets that the main gun could not reach—gave the tank an unpredictable "retribution" capability. Following these successful trials, the prototype was officially christened the "NEMESIS."[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Author’s Gameplay Vision:[/p][p]I want the RV-22 Nemesis to function as a frontline fighter that can deal high damage and assist the team in detecting enemies.[/p][p]This vehicle is designed to dominate hilly and urban terrain. With strong armor and using the Independent Robotic Pivot ATGM (Anti-Tank Guided Missile) system, it can attack targets at extreme vertical angles and fire a salvo of two missiles while the main body remains safe behind cover.[/p][p][/p][p]Why? I want a new style of MBT. Although there are already MBTs equipped with ATGMs such as Cheonma, Seongun, and KF51, I want a tank that can target enemies more accurately, especially when the tank is tilted or the enemy is in a high position. The pivot ATGM system on the RV-22 NEMESIS offers a solution expected to satisfy players who prefer an aggressive and frontline play style, while also making the tank more durable.[/p][p]The arm will function the following way:[/p][p][/p][p]The missile launcher system utilizes an Independent Mechanical Pivot Arm mechanism, operating separately from the main gun's movement. Mounted on the rear section of the turret, this robotic arm enables the ATGM Launcher to achieve an exceptional vertical range of motion.[/p][p]And that’s it for today’s entry, commanders. Once again, we’d like to underline that we want to do this entire contest justice. It will therefore take time to go through the results. We invite you to discuss the topic and express your wishes on Discord or anywhere else. But for now:[/p][p]See you on the battlefield![/p]

Historical Skins: T-72B3 Mod.2011 with Anti-Drone Protection

[p]Commanders![/p][p]We haven’t had one of these for a while so let us take a look together at a historical skin we are preparing for the celebrations of the 2026 Defender Day, which is called T-72B3 Mod.2011 with Anti-Drone Protection.[/p][p][/p][p]It’s been nearly a decade since the introduction of the T-72B3 Tier 8 Premium Main Battle Tank in Armored Warfare and even longer since its appearance. Ours is one of the earliest versions of the tank that doesn’t feature the bulky ERA kit we are so used to today. Indeed, the Kontakt-5 ERA has been around since the 1990s and the early T-72B3s in this regard were hardly any better than the late T-72Bs.[/p][p][/p][p]The rise of drones has since proven to be the primary challenge these tanks would face on modern battlefield. Not only were their vulnerable areas not protected from FPV drones, but these tanks were very vulnerable even to simple drones dropping improvised bombs (often made from mortar shells) into open hatches from far above. Another major thread early on turned out to be top-attack Javelin missiles.[/p][p]To counter these threats, a number of methods were devised – some effective, some not so much, with them eventually involving into the current post-apocalyptic appearance of armored vehicles we see today.[/p][p][/p][p]The skin represents a middle-of-the-road upgrade with a large grille welded to the top of the turret. The grille (or cage armor, if you will) is also covered by an animated camouflaged tarp to further hide the tank silhouette from above. Additional cage armor was added to the back of the vehicle to protect its engine. It won’t save the tank from advanced drones or top-attack missiles, but such approach is reasonably effective against simple bomb-dropping drones.[/p][p]The skin doesn’t represent any specific vehicle and is an amalgamation of the typical Russian three-tone camouflage, green base paint and other visual elements such as the tricolor painted on the gun.[/p][p][/p][p]What makes the skin different from other skins is the functionality because the grille and the cage armor do work as armor zones and therefore provide some additional protection for the vehicle. In this regard, we are testing a functional skin concept that may appear in future events.[/p][p]But the skin isn’t the only thing we have prepared for you for the Defender Day celebrations. We will have the Russian (Improvised Stripes) camouflage for you.[/p][p][/p][p]This camouflage was seen on a Russian T-72B3 during winter exercises in 2020 and can change its appearance based on your selected base paint.[/p][p][/p][p]Next we have the Russian (Autumn) camouflage, which was seen on a Russian BRM-1 (vehicle number 442) in western Russia in October 2023. This non-standard camouflage features spray-painted lines of typical autumn colors.[/p][p][/p][p]And, last but not least, we’ll have several decals for you, inspired by real-life designs. You can see them in the gallery below.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]And that’s it, commanders. We hope that you will enjoy these new additions to Armored Warfare. Stay tuned for more upcoming content because we are already working on a number of things we are sure you will like.[/p][p]See you on the battlefield![/p]

 • [p]Treasure Trove with 10.000 Gold[/p]
[p]Between February 12, 2026 and February 19, 2026, the following items will be available:[/p][p][/p]
ZTZ-20
[p][/p][p]The ZTZ-20 is a fictional Chinese Main Battle Tank for the 21st century. It combines western influences with some ideas taken from the T-14 Armata. You can read about its (real and fictional) history in our dedicated article.[/p][p][/p][p]In Armored Warfare, the ZTZ-20 is a Tier 10 Premium Main Battle Tank. On its own, it’s a beast of a machine and one of the most powerful vehicles in the game, featuring both a powerful gun and thick armor. It does have a special feature though – its missiles can cover a wide area with burning White Phosphorus that reduces enemy vehicle camouflage and deals damage to anyone entering the zone.[/p][p]The ZTZ-20 MBT is available in our Web Shop via Loot Crates. Collect 100 blueprint pieces from these crates to obtain the vehicle.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p]
Type 99A2-140
[p][/p][p]The Type 99A2-140 is an experimental version of the most advanced Chinese Main Battle Tank in existence – the Type 99A. Unlike its production counterpart, however, it is not armed with a 125mm smoothbore, but massive 140mm smoothbore cannon. This is a theoretical upgrade to the vehicle – while the People’s Republic of China was considering upgrading the firepower of its Main Battle Tanks to face latest western and Russian MBT models, a 140mm gun was never installed on this chassis and was only mentioned in passing by certain Chinese sources. Now, however, your enemies will have the opportunity to experience what such a vehicle with you in command would be like to face in battle![/p][p][/p][p]In Armored Warfare, the Type 99A2-140 is a rather unique Tier 10 Premium Main Battle Tank. It is essentially a version of the progression Type 99A2 Tier 10 MBT with one difference – the 140mm gun, trading its rate of fire for penetration and single shell damage. It is very fast and mobile (with its maximum speed being well over 90 km/h), protected by ERA and APS both and capable of using an acceleration-boosting active ability that pushes its engine far beyond the limits of common Main Battle Tanks. If used right, the vehicle is extremely deadly and one of the best Tier 10 MBTs on the battlefields of Armored Warfare.[/p][p]The Type 99A2-140 MBT is available in our Web Shop via Loot Crates. Collect 100 blueprint pieces from these crates to obtain the vehicle.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p]
VT-5 Dragon
[p][/p][p]The VT-5 Dragon is a special version of the VT-5 with a beautiful red and gold paint scheme. The vehicle itself is a modern Chinese Light Tank that was developed specifically with export in mind. There are many reasons why a country without its own tank development should opt to purchase a Light Tank instead of a full-scale Main Battle Tank. It’s equally as fast if not faster with equal firepower but, what is most important, it is affordable. The VT-5 excels in all these categories. While its armor cannot match that of an MBT, it can protect its crew against most infantry threats thanks to its ERA and cage armor sets. It also has a powerful 105mm gun capable of firing guided missiles, it is packed with advanced electronics and is supremely agile thanks to its 1000hp diesel engine. Simply put, wraps cutting edge technologies up into an affordable bundle. You can learn more about it in a dedicated article.[/p][p][/p][p]In Armored Warfare, the VT-5 is a very powerful Tier 9 Premium Light Tank. Fast and agile, it features solid levels of protection (the configuration in the game is the one featuring the ERA kit as well as the turret cage armor) and a good rate of fire. Additionally, its gun is capable of firing guided missiles. It’s an ideal machine for players who value speed and agility, as it offers plenty of both. The VT-5 is capable of dancing around its opponents on the battlefield, outperforming even some AFVs in mobility.[/p][p]This bundle is available in our Web Shop.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p]
Type 96B Red Dragon
[p][/p][p]The Type 96B MBT, as its name suggests, is an evolution of the Type 96A, featuring such elements as an upgraded fire control system and a much more powerful engine, resulting in considerably better mobility and speed. Unlike the Type 96A, however, the Type 96B is a prototype, designed for the Chinese military team to use during the annual Tank Biathlon event in Russia. In 2017, the Chinese team won the second place, being defeated only by Russia. You can learn more about its history in our dedicated article![/p][p][/p][p]In Armored Warfare, the Type 96B is a Tier 8 Premium Main Battle Tank. Gameplay-wise, it’s very agile and fast for its class and uses advanced ammunition, making it highly suitable for players who prefer mobility over armor protection, even though it can take a lot of punishment as well.[/p][p][/p][p]Gallery (Click to Open)[/p][p][/p][p]This bundle is available in our Web Shop.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p]
Object 187 Dragon
[p][/p][p]The Object 187 was a Soviet era program, developed to improve upon the excellent but ageing T-72 Main Battle Tank. Several prototypes were built, featuring a number of advanced elements compared to the older Soviet tanks, such as the new long 125mm smoothbore gun with a typical muzzle brake. The result was an excellent MBT that was, however, never mass-produced due to the 1990s Russian military budget cuts – the Russian army chose a less advanced but cheaper T-90 instead. You can learn more about it in our dedicated article.[/p][p][/p][p]In Armored Warfare, the Object 187 is a typical Russian style Main Battle Tank – it’s suitable for an aggressive play style and is a good choice for the players who prefer to take on their opponents at close ranges.[/p][p]This bundle is available in our Web Shop.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p]
Treasure Trove
[p][/p][p]Today, we have a special offer for you. A veritable treasure trove of 10.000 Gold awaits you at a discounted price.[/p][p][/p][p]Please note that this item can only be purchased once per user. You can find out more about Gold and its uses in our dedicated article.[/p][p]This bundle is available in our Web Shop.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]We hope that you will enjoy the offer and, as always:[/p][p]See you on the battlefield![/p]

Contest Highlights #1: FBMT

[p]Commanders![/p][p]The Design a Legendary Vehicle contest is in full swing with less than a week left to submit your proposals for a future machine to be introduced to Armored Warfare. Over 300 entries were made already and it’s going to take some time to sift through them. In the meanwhile, we’d like to highlight several of the entries that are definitely making it into the voting phase, starting with the FMBT entry by Spyder.[/p][p][/p][p]History:[/p][p]This is a real-life vehicle project developed in the early 1990s. In the summer of 1992, the ARMOR magazine (the official magazine of the U.S. Army Armor Center from Fort Knox) started a contest to design a next generation Main Battle Tank and by January 15, 1993 (the official deadline), it would receive more than 70 submissions from both the USA and 4 other countries. The submission of Maj. Quinn, a developer from Western Design (which specialized in automatic gun loading mechanism development) from California, was declared the winner.[/p][p]Assisting in the proposal were Larry Bacon (who helped develop the automatic loading mechanism for the TTB and the AH-64 Apache) and Dr. Asher Sharoni (veteran of the IDF who would also later come one of the authors of the Abrams AGDS proposal). With such names behind the design, it wasn’t surprising that Future Main Battle Tank (or FMBT) proposal was very well developed indeed, even though it was quite a bit ahead of its time and its elements would only be used in much later designs.[/p][p][/p][p]The core idea behind the FMBT was survivability. The tank would weigh around 50 tons and would have a crew of 3 men placed in its hull in an armored capsule. The engine was placed in the front to provide extra protection for the crew. Additional protective elements included soft-kill APS, an advanced blow-out panel system, and advanced armor distribution.[/p][p]The vehicle would be powered by a hybrid engine consisting of a 1750-2000hp LV100 gas turbine and two electric engines. It would be armed by 120mm XM291 ATACS gun fed by a carousel-type autoloader. Additional weapons included 30mm M230 autocannon, a 40mm grenade launcher and a machinegun as well as 7 vertical launchers for anti-aircraft missiles. The tank was supposed to be equipped with a 360 degree camera coverage with images projected directly into crew helmet displays, much like the current Israeli Iron Vision system.[/p][p][/p][p]Author’s Gameplay Vision:[/p][p]The vehicle would be a very fast and stealthy with a powerful armament (120mm ATACS gun with a high-capacity autoloader – furthermore, the gun can be upgraded to 140mm). It would also have excellent spotting range but also thin armor, especially its sides. The tank would receive very low module damage with the ammo racks immune from explosions. The downside, aside from the armor, would be poor gun depression (-5 degrees). Overall the vehicle would be akin to XK3 or Object 640 – only with more firepower and mobility but less camouflage than the XK3.[/p][p]Interested in more designs? Stay tuned for more articles or submit your own.[/p][p]See you on the battlefield![/p]

Scavenger Run is here!

[p]Commanders![/p][p]Starting on February 6, you’ll be able to earn a major bonus to your next Gold purchase (even a truly massive one, like 80 percent) by participating in the Scavenger Run event.[/p][p][/p][p]In other words, in case you win such a bonus and buy 1.000 Gold, you’ll receive 1.800 Gold instead. And that can make one hell of a difference (please note, however, that the maximum amount of bonus Gold obtainable this way is 10.000 Gold).[/p][p][/p][p]Scavenger Run is, in its core, a very simple event. There are many ruined and abandoned objects across the world of Armored Warfare and your friendly neighborhood arms dealer ran across one of them.[/p][p][/p][p]You are now being hired to scout it out. On a small map, you choose one of three bases and then scout its three warehouses by clicking on them. Depending on your finds (determined randomly), you will receive a sizeable bonus to your next Gold purchase.[/p][p][/p][p]This event will be active for several days (the counter in Garage will always tell you how much time is left), so if you’re planning to stock on Gold for the next Battle Path or simply want to boost your progress right now, it’s the perfect opportunity to do so.[/p][p]We hope that you’ll enjoy this new mechanic and, as always:[/p][p]See you on the battlefield![/p]
