Dayan’s Last Gift

Commanders!

It is with heavy heart that we announce this piece of incredibly sad news. One of the most active community moderators and contributors, Dayan78, has recently passed away after a period of serious illness.

Dayan78 was a man with a big heart, a great friend and a valuable member of the community, always ready to lend a hand with deed or advice. He was also the organizer of DCOT tournaments that quickly become a staple of Armored Warfare player-managed content. We’d like to publish few words from another esteemed member of the moderator corps, Waidler, who knew him the best:

Dayan78 - or Dayan for short - is no longer with us. Surprisingly for all of us, he passed away last Monday at the age of only 44. Many of you know him as moderator of the former forum, moderator in Discord, organizer of community contests at DCOT and as battalion leader of [DudS]. Not only because of these activities he had many, many friends in the gaming community; everyone appreciated his helpfulness, humanity and uncompromising self-sacrifice. He leaves a big gap and will be missed very much. Take care, my friend, and R.I.P.

In Dayan78’s memory, we’d like to offer all of you the decal of the DCOT organization. You can pick it up at MY.GAMES Market in the Chest section.

Rest in peace, Dayan, and thank you for all you’ve done to the community. You’ll be missed by us all.

Contest: Design Perihelion Camouflage

Commanders!

The Perihelion event is in full swing with the eponymous company training its troops in the Arizona desert under the watchful eye of Samuel Thorpe. While the basic training proceeds without major interruptions, the troops have been constantly complaining about their tanks being painted black and grey under the blistering Arizonian sun.

Additionally, the color black and grey, while being an excellent friend-or-foe identifier (at least versus the U.S. Army) don’t exactly blend well in the desert environment (or anywhere, for that matter). The Perihelion troops have been calling for a proper camouflage pattern since day one and today, we’re going to grant their wish.

Your task in this contest will be to design universal Perihelion camouflage by submitting a suitable design to our dedicated form.

The design can be pretty much anything and submitted in any manner, but each submission must contain the following elements:
 • Your player name
 • Description of the camouflage with any additional information (such as color RGB/HEX codes, ratio descriptions and such – anything you deem fit)
 • Link to at least one image of the camouflage

Regarding the final point – the image does not have to be an in-game vehicle render. It can be anything, from a single tile of the camouflage, a pen and pencil drawing of it, a photo of a real-life camouflage, a photoshopped image or even a screenshot of a mod. It’s the idea that counts, not the artistic rendition. The winning submission will become (for the purposes of the game’s story, art and its potential future introduction) the official Perihelion camouflage.

The best submissions from both regions will be put up for a vote after the contest submission period ends. Based on the amount of community votes, the winners will receive the following prizes:
 • First place: Namer Tier 10 Premium AFV (or its equivalent in Gold, winner’s choice)
 • Second place: MPF Tier 10 Premium LT (or its equivalent in Gold if the winner has it already)
 • Third place: BM Oplot Tier 9 Premium MBT (or its equivalent in Gold if the winner has it already)

Additionally, each submission that makes it to the voting phase will be rewarded with 1.500 Gold.

Please note:
 • The submission phase ends on March 6, 2022 at 21:59 CET
 • Each player may only submit one submissions, edits are not allowed (in case of more submissions from the same player, only the first one will count)
 • The entries must not contain any elements that are third party intellectual property (typical example here would be popular commercial camouflage patterns such as Cryptek Typhon)
 • The entries must not contain any elements that are against our Terms of Service (containing forbidden symbols or imagery)
 • The Armored Warfare members of staff reserve the right to disqualify any entry at their discretion
 • By submitting his or her work in this contest, each player agrees with the use of the submission in Armored Warfare promotion and/or the game itself
 • Armored Warfare reserves the right to decide whether to introduce any entry to the game or not. If the entry is ever introduced, its author will receive the camouflage for free without any further conditions

We hope that you will enjoy this event and, as always:

See you on the battlefield!

Armored Warfare: Perihelion

Commanders!

Today, we’re embarking upon a new journey that will take Armored Warfare on a new path – a story-driven path where everything, from PvP battles to the PvE experience will be a part of a single unified world with an evolving story that you, the players, will participate in and influence.

But even a journey of a thousand miles must begin with the first step. During the following weeks, we’ll be introducing the world of Armored Warfare to you in a series of events, tasks and missions that we hope you’ll participate in it because every decision taken will count. We’ll start slow but the event will grow based on your activity – the more you play, the bigger the event becomes.

The basics of the event are simple. Complete missions within their allotted time and receive rewards. And with that in mind, let’s get right to it.
Type 10
The Type 10 MBT is the most modern Japanese Main Battle Tank in service and one of the most advanced war machines in the world. Using sophisticated electronics and crystalline steel armor, this tank is more than a match for any enemy that would threaten the islands of Japan. You can learn more about it in our dedicated article.

In Armored Warfare, the Type 10 is a Tier 10 Premium Main Battle Tank. What puts it apart from the other MBTs of its Tier is its special NERA armor. This highly-mobile MBT starts every battle well-armored, but the protection levels decrease with every shot taken. Additionally, this MBT features a special system that tells you the exact chance to penetrate your target. Overall, it’s one of the most powerful MBTs of its Tier and certainly a good choice for players, who prefer rapid action to slow advances.

The Type 10 Tier 10 Premium MBT is available in our Web Shop via Loot Crates. Collect 100 blueprint pieces from these crates to obtain the vehicle.
QN-506
The QN-506 fire support vehicle is a Chinese attempt to design a cheap, export-oriented alternative to the Russian BMPT series. Instead of converting a second or third generation MBT, the engineers at Wuhan Guide Infrared Co., Ltd., likely to keep the vehicle as affordable as possible, opted to base their project on the Type 59 MBT, which is, in its basic form anyway, a copy of the old Soviet T-55 medium tank from the late 1950s. They jam-packed it with cutting edge electronics and a number of weapon systems, including ATGMs, an automatic cannon or smaller caliber rockets. However, despite the use of an unmanned turret, the protection levels of this vehicle are still quite low and, so far, there haven’t been any signs of interest in the QN-506. You can learn more about this vehicle in our dedicated article.

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

In Armored Warfare, the QN-506 is a Premium Tier 9 Tank Destroyer that gameplay-wise resembles the popular BMPT series. However, unlike the Russian Terminators, it has a number of interesting features including tree different weapon systems (30mm cannon, 70mm unguided rockets and 151mm ATGMs) and loitering recon ammunition flying towards the end of a map and spotting everything in its path. The last ability is unique to the QN-506 and makes it one of the most potent support vehicles on the battlefield.
VT-5
The VT-5 is a modern Chinese Light Tank that was developed specifically with export in mind. There are many reasons why a country without its own tank development should opt to purchase a Light Tank instead of a full-scale Main Battle Tank. It’s equally as fast if not faster with equal firepower but, what is most important, it is affordable. The VT-5 excels in all these categories. While its armor cannot match that of an MBT, it can protect its crew against most infantry threats thanks to its ERA and cage armor sets. It also has a powerful 105mm gun capable of firing guided missiles, it is packed with advanced electronics and is supremely agile thanks to its 1000hp diesel engine. Simply put, wraps cutting edge technologies up into an affordable bundle. You can learn more about it in a dedicated article.

In Armored Warfare, the VT-5 is a very powerful Tier 9 Premium Light Tank. Fast and agile, it features solid levels of protection (the configuration in the game is the one featuring the ERA kit as well as the turret cage armor) and a good rate of fire. Additionally, its gun is capable of firing guided missiles. It’s an ideal machine for players who value speed and agility, as it offers plenty of both. The VT-5 is capable of dancing around its opponents on the battlefield, outperforming even some AFVs in mobility.
Type 96B
The Type 96B MBT, as its name suggests, is an evolution of the Type 96A, featuring such elements as an upgraded fire control system and a much more powerful engine, resulting in considerably better mobility and speed. Unlike the Type 96A, however, the Type 96B is a prototype, designed for the Chinese military team to use during the annual Tank Biathlon event in Russia. In 2017, the Chinese team won the second place, being defeated only by Russia. You can learn more about its history in our dedicated article!

In Armored Warfare, the Type 96B is a Tier 8 Premium Main Battle Tank. Gameplay-wise, it’s very agile and fast for its class and uses advanced ammunition, making it highly suitable for players who prefer mobility over armor protection, even though it can take a lot of punishment as well.
Pindad SBS
The SBS platform is one of the first domestic armored vehicles developed by Pindad (the largest Indonesian armor producer) for Indonesia and is officially listed as a “light tank”. It was developed sometimes in the early 2010s with some prototypes in different configuration appearing in public in 2014 or so. The variant in the game is a long-range MLRS fire support vehicle with a 122mm multi-barreled rocket launcher. You can learn more about it in our dedicated article.

In Armored Warfare, the Pindad SBS is a Tier 8 Premium Armored Fighting Vehicle. This AFV is fairly unique, since its main weapon is a multi-barreled rocket launcher capable of firing over obstacles. This makes the Pindad incredibly powerful in both offense and defense. Static enemy targets stand no chance! This vehicle is best used with Commander Ophelia Kitescu and in a platoon – the firepower of such a formation is truly without equal.
K1A1
The K1A1 is an upgraded version of the older South-Korean K1 MBT. It’s a very distant relative of the Abrams MBT with the main difference being the presence of a hydro-pneumatic suspension, allowing the vehicle to tilt itself forward, backward and to the sides.

In Armored Warfare, the K1A1 is a Tier 7 Premium MBT. The combination of a 120mm gun, good mobility and solid armor (all of them roughly the same as the M1A1 has) as well as the ability to mark enemy targets for increased damage make it powerful opponent even in its basic form with additional upgrades readily available.

The K1A1 is also available in the South Korean bundle, which contains:
 • K1A1 Tier 7 Premium MBT
 • Korean camouflage
 • Korean "Squad Leader" decal

You can learn more about the Korean camouflage in our dedicated article.
Type 90
The Type 90 is the current service main battle tank of the Japanese Self-Defense Force. On the outside, it vaguely resembled the German Leopard 2, but inside, the vehicle’s completely different. It was adequately armed and armored for the time it was developed in, but what made it really stand out were its cutting-edge Japanese electronics and its hydraulic suspension, allowing the tank to tilt itself forward or backward, enhancing its gun elevation and depression beyond what the turret would normally allow. This trait was considered to be an important for Japan, as much of its landmass is covered by mountainous areas. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.

In Armored Warfare, the Type 90 is a Tier 7 Premium Main Battle Tank. Gameplay-wise, it resembles the Leopard 2 and Abrams version of the same Tier. The difference between the Leopard and the Type 90 MBT lie in the presence of an automatic loading mechanism – otherwise, the firepower and protection levels is roughly the same with the Japanese tank having a little less armor, compensated by more module hitpoints. Overall, it is not the best-protected MBT on the battlefield, requiring careful long-range gameplay. However, the advanced electronics installed in this tank as well as its hydraulic suspension allow it to aim faster than all its class and Tier counterparts.

The Type 90 is also available in the Japanese bundle, which contains:
 • Type 90 Tier 7 Premium MBT
 • Japanese camouflage
 • Two Japanese decals
 • Japanese red flag

You can learn more about the Japanese camouflage in our dedicated article.
Type 89
The Type 89 Infantry Fighting Vehicle is the current Japanese service IFV. It was built in very small numbers between 1989 and 2004. The low-production meant that, with the development costs sunk into it, each unit was incredibly expensive. In fact, to date, the Type 89 is the most expensive IFV in the world. Otherwise it’s generally unremarkable – last generation steel armor, a 35mm autocannon and massive guided missiles (that were also meant for landing ship destruction instead of just anti-tank combat) are generally being all phased out by now. The Type 89 is, however, still waiting for its replacement. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.

In Armored Warfare, the Type 89 is a Tier 7 Premium Armored Fighting Vehicle that is capable of not only deploying Mechanized Infantry, but also to destroy its targets at long distances using its powerful guided missiles. It is also fast and maneuverable, but does not feature thick armor.
Iron Crate
We’ve prepared for you an additional offer this week. The Iron Crate is available on MY.GAMES Market with 50% discount!

The mechanics are very simple. This crate allows you to win one of the vehicles listed in its description (or its value in Gold if you have it already). The crate contains some very rare vehicles (with some new ones!), including the MPF Tier 10 Premium LT.

For a full list, please visit the MY.GAMES Market Iron Crate page. We’re implementing a new mechanic to the MY.GAMES Market Loot Crates (no worries – the in-game crates will remain the same). The mechanic is simple – instead of purchasing the Loot Crates, you purchase keys to them, which you then use to unlock them.

However, please note:
 • Discounts do not apply to Loot Crates, but rather to Keys
 • It is possible to buy multiple keys for a single chest type
 • Keys belong to individual Loot Crates (that is, a key to a Commander Loot Crate purchased now is not guaranteed to work on a Commander Loot Crate a month down the line)
 • Keys can be found in a separate Market section
