Holiday Mode Now Available!

Commanders!

This Christmas, we are once again enabling the Christmas Garage and the special Holiday Mode!

A squad of snowmen took a magical sleigh and is dropping tree decorations over the village! Help Grandfather Frost gather the decorations and put them on the tree! Tree decorations will spawn across the map and it’s your and your team’s duty to pick each one up and bring it back to your base. But beware – evil Grinch-driven armored vehicles will stop at nothing to steal them from you, ruining your holidays!

There are new achievements in the mode, don’t miss them!

 • The holiday mode can be selected in the Garage in the mode menu
 • The match generally follows the rules of Global Operations with both sides having a number of points
 • Capturing and bringing home the decorations resembles a Capture the Flag mode, each capture reduces enemy’s pool of points
 • The first time a decoration spawns, it will always be in the center of the map, the rest of the spawns are random
 • Player who captures a decoration will be clearly identified by an icon and visible on the minimap
 • Destroying a vehicle carrying the decoration will cause the decoration to drop to the ground and become available for capture by someone else
 • A new decoration spawns every 90 seconds
 • It’s necessary to capture 5 decorations to win a match
 • The match is played in 10v10 format and lasts 15 minutes

Please note: the mode is only available for 15 minutes once per hour.

We hope that you will enjoy these winter holidays with Armored Warfare and will see you on the battlefield!

Historical Camouflages – Russian Winter Forest

Commanders!

These holidays are going to be legendary. We’ve prepared not one, not two, but four very special Christmas and New Year gifts for you and today we’d like to tell you more about one of them to whet your appetite. One of this year’s gifts will be the Russian Winter Forest Camouflage.

The name, however, is a bit misleading as there is no official name to this specific pattern. For one, the camouflage is not really Russian. It is based on a photo taken during the 2001 Tank Crew day in Sertolovo, where it could be seen on a number of vehicles, including a T-80BV Main Battle Tank. Sertolovo is a town in the Leningrad Oblast (district) near St. Petersburg, north-western Russia.

However, as you can see on the photo above, the same camouflage was used on a Ukrainian T-64A in the early 2001s. So what gives?

The answer is fairly simple. This camouflage comes from the Soviet Union era. Back then, there was a detailed manual for this sort of thing (or for everything, for that matter), which, amongst other things, proscribed camouflage colors for environments. The standard pattern for environments with foliage consisted of a green khaki base paint and one or two additional paints. The combinations of these colors were left at the discretion of unit commanders since they knew the region the best.

In this case, the colors used clearly correspond to the northern part of the country, although not the arctic one (arctic and desert areas had their own patterns). The original camouflage manual came from the mid-1970s but was used until the end of the Soviet Union era with some revisions. For example, the 1977 version for woodland areas consisted of:
 • 45 to 75 percent of khaki base paint
 • 30 to 55 percent of other colors (light green, light yellow, light grey or dark grey)

The 1989 version was stricter and defined the colors for the same environment as such:
 • 60 percent of khaki base paint
 • 20 percent black (secondary color)
 • 20 percent light yellow or light grey (tertiary color)

And that’s pretty much what we are looking at. The combination of khaki, black and light grey is exactly the camouflage we are talking about. It’s more suitable for verdant winter, although rarer than the combination with the light yellow color that is very common in Russian service to this day and we have it in the game as well. In fact, the same pattern can be found on the Russian Service Pattern BMPT, a skin which you can also get your hands on this Christmas.

This camouflage will be usable in any environment and will look right on pretty much any late Soviet MBT or AFV. We’re looking forward to seeing it on the vehicles you’ll be driving in Armored Warfare.

We hope that you’ll enjoy it and, as always:

See you on the battlefield!

New Steam DLC Bundles now available!

Commanders!

New Steam DLC bundles are now available. We've prepared the following bundles for you:
Tier 6 Bundle: Object 287 (15% off)
This bundle contains the Object 287 Premium TD and 3 days of Premium Time. In Armored Warfare, the Object 287 is a Tier 6 Premium Tank Destroyer. Thanks to its combination of a powerful missile launcher and two 73mm cannons, it can lay waste to any kind of opponent on the battlefield, even though it particularly excels at medium and long ranges.
Tier 6 Bundle: Sabre (15% off)
This bundle contains the Sabre Premium AFV and 3 days of Premium Time. In Armored Warfare, the Tier 6 Sabre Premium Armored Fighting Vehicle is one of the deadliest vehicles on the battlefield thanks to its rather unique upward-aimed Swingfire missile launcher that allows it to fire over obstacles or while hidden, for example behind uneven terrain. While being quite difficult to master, this ability makes it a potent ambusher, especially in skilled hands.
Tier 7 Bundle: Type 89 (25% off)
This bundle contains the Type 89 Premium AFV, 5 Gold Loot Crates and 7 days of Premium Time. In Armored Warfare, the Type 89 is a Tier 7 Premium Armored Fighting Vehicle that is capable of not only deploying Mechanized Infantry, but also to destroy its targets at long distances using its powerful guided missiles. It is also fast and maneuverable, but does not feature thick armor.
Tier 7 Bundle: M1A1 Storm (25% off)
This bundle contains the M1A1 Storm Premium MBT, 5 Gold Loot Crates and 7 days of Premium Time. In Armored Warfare, the M1A1 Storm is a Tier 7 Premium Main Battle Tank. The M1A1 Storm look was inspired by Operation Desert Storm, including a gorgeous camouflage net model. But, more importantly, this tank is equipped with a massive frontal dozer blade, adding extra armor and ramming damage to the long list of its advantages.
Tier 8 Bundle: Pindad SBS (25% off)
This bundle contains the Pindad SBS Premium AFV, 1.000 Gold and 7 days of Premium Time. In Armored Warfare, the Pindad SBS is a Tier 8 Premium Armored Fighting Vehicle. This AFV is fairly unique, since its main weapon is a multi-barreled rocket launcher capable of firing over obstacles. This makes the Pindad incredibly powerful in both offense and defense. Static enemy targets stand no chance! This vehicle is best used with Commander Ophelia Kitescu and in a platoon – the firepower of such a formation is truly without equal.
Tier 8 Bundle: Bradley AAWS-H (25% off)
This bundle contains the Bradley AAWS-H TD, 1.000 Gold and 7 days of Premium Time. In Armored Warfare, the Bradley AAWS-H is a Tier 8 Premium Tank Destroyer. It’s an ATGM-based TD, carrying special kinetic missiles that actually become more effective with increasing distance to your target. It is the embodiment of a long-range missile carrier and is perfect for players who prefer sniping to close combat.
Tier 8 Bundle: Griffin (25% off)
This bundle contains the Griffin 120mm LT, 1.000 Gold and 7 days of Premium Time. In Armored Warfare, the Griffin 120mm is a Tier 8 Premium Light Tank and a powerful, fast machine, armed not only with its 120mm cannon, but also with special ammunition types, making it deadly at any distance. Few Tier 8 vehicles can match its sheer ferocity on the battlefield.
Tier 9 Bundle: ZTQ-15 (10% off)
This bundle contains the ZTQ-15 LT, 5 Platinum Loot Crates, 1.000 Gold and 14 days of Premium Time. In Armored Warfare, the ZTQ-15 is a Tier 9 Premium Light Tank. It combines excellent mobility with plenty of firepower as well as adequate protection for its Tier and vehicle class. It also features several neat elements that increase its value on the battlefield, such as its active suspension and the ability to launch guided missiles from its gun or its advanced ERA. For players who prefer fast-paced, high-risk and high-reward combat style, it’s one of the best options out there.
Tier 9 Bundle: Hunter (10% off)
This bundle contains the Hunter AFV, 5 Platinum Loot Crates, 1.000 Gold and 14 days of Premium Time. In Armored Warfare, the Hunter AFV is a Tier 9 Premium Armored Fighting Vehicle. As its description above suggests, it is a rather standard-sized IFV with good levels of protection and excellent firepower (consisting of a 30mm autocannon and a Spike ATGM launcher). It also features a recently introduced type of armor, NERA. Simply put, NERA is an ablative armor kit that deteriorates whenever it gets hit. In other words, the vehicle starts with excellent protection levels but it will lose some with damage taken as the battle progresses. Apart from that, the vehicle is adequately mobile and quite universal. It can, of course, also deploy Mechanized Infantry.
General’s Bundle: T-72B3 (15% off)
This epic Russian-themed bundle contains the following items: T-72B3 Tier 8 Premium Main Battle Tank, Commander Alexander Cortez, 3 real-life Russian camouflages, 50 Platinum Commander XP Insignia tokens and 10 Platinum Armored Warfare 12-hour boost tokens.

In Armored Warfare, the T-72B3 is a Tier 8 Premium Main Battle Tank. It continues the tradition of other Russian tanks. Its low silhouette, good mobility, powerful 125mm gun and its advanced ERA kit make it a formidable opponent. This version of the T-72B3 is offered without any camouflage.

Commander Cortez is a universal commander with his main skill allowing all shells to always deal maximum damage.
General’s Bundle: Falcon (15% off)
This epic British-themed bundle contains the following items: Challenger 1 Falcon Tier 8 Premium Main Battle Tank, Commander Ophelia Kitescu, 3 real-life Commonwealth camouflages, 50 Platinum Commander XP Insignia tokens and 10 Platinum Armored Warfare 12-hour boost tokens.

In Armored Warfare, the Challenger 1 Falcon is a Tier 8 Premium Main Battle Tank. The best word to characterize this lumbering behemoth in the game is “tough” – its excellent hull armor shrugs off most shells while the damage its low profile turret takes when it is reduced by 90% thanks to the fact the crew is not located directly in it. Despite being generally very slow and sluggish, the Challenger 1 Falcon can take tremendous punishment and is ideal for the players who prefer the British Main Battle Tank play style.

Commander Kitescu is one of the best choices in the game with her main skill creating a shield around your vehicle as it is just about to be destroyed and saving it from certain death.
General’s Bundle: Terminator (15% off)
This epic Russian-themed bundle contains the following items: BMPT Mod.2017 Tier 8 Premium Tank Destroyer, Commander Alisa Korhonen, 3 real-life Russian Airborne camouflages, 50 Platinum Commander XP Insignia tokens and 10 Platinum Armored Warfare 12-hour boost tokens.

In Armored Warfare, the BMPT Mod. 2017 is a Tier 8 Premium Tank Destroyer and arguably the most powerful variant of the BMPT family. Like the others, it combines a tank hull with an unmanned turret, armed with two 30mm cannons as well as four missile launchers. Its thick armor and advanced ATGMs quickly made it one of the most feared vehicles of Tier 8 battlefields, a position it retains to this day.

Commander Korhonen’s unique ability is called Mysterious Stranger. When triggered, a hidden ally fires an additional guided missile at your target anywhere on the battlefield.
