Historical Skins – BMP-1P Spetsnaz

Commanders!

Aside from new vehicles and maps, we’re working on more future skins for you to obtain, including some low-Tier vehicles. In this case, it’s a BMP-1P skin called Spetsnaz.

The skin is based on a BMP-1 belonging to the 101st Special Operations Brigade of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, as seen during the Battle of Grozny in 1996. The battle was one of the bloodiest ones fought by the Russian Federation in the 1990s and became notable for the issues experienced by the T-80 series of tanks (whose ammo racks turned to be extremely vulnerable by rooftop attacks).

As was stated above, the unit operating this BMP-1 belonged to the Internal Troops, as marked by the red and yellow circle and the letters BB (VV in Cyrillic, stands for Vnyuternye Voyska). The red flag carries the shortened name of the unit (101 OsBrON).

The unit was formed in 1995 and Grozny was its first combat deployment. Despite being over 8000 soldiers strong, the unit’s elements were deployed all over Chechnya. The contingent in Grozny therefore did not represent its full strength. It took heavy losses during the campaign but not a single objective defended by this unit was captured by the enemy. After the end of the war (August 30, 1996), the unit stayed in Chechnya until December. The unit also fought in the Second Chechen War and was merged with another unit afterwards, effectively ceasing to exist in 2000.

The vehicle is painted with an unusual four-tone camouflage consisting of black, yellow and brown stripes on green background. It’s worth noting that the camouflage and the BB emblem will also be available separately.

The rear of the vehicle carries a log that has an inscription written on it: „Пусть она не права, она - Родина моя!“ Or, in English, “Even though she’s wrong, she’s still my homeland!”, reflecting the sentiments of many who fought in the war.

The ATGM launcher on top of the vehicle is not historical but it is based on another Second Chechen War BMP-1 that had it. The inscription on it reads “Мир вашему дому“ (“Peace to your home”). Frontline soldiers sometimes have a very dark sense of humor.

The skin will be available for the BMP-1P Tier 4 progression IFV. We hope that you will like it and, as always:

See you on the battlefield!
EMBT
The Enhanced Main Battle Tank (EMBT) is a future MBT demonstrator developed over the course of several years as cooperation between the Germany (KMW) and the French (Nexter). It features a heavily modified Leopard 2 hull with a brand-new turret unveiled in 2022 during the Eurosatory 2022 expo in Paris. Our version of the tank is armed with 140mm ASCALON gun. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.

In Armored Warfare, the EMBT is a Tier 10 Premium Main Battle Tank. Extreme accuracy and firepower are its domain as it features an incredibly powerful 140mm gun and a special ability called Machine Learning that increases the kinetic round penetration with each shot (up to three times). In its medium range support vehicle role, this tank has few equals thanks to the abovementioned ability and the availability of top-attack HEAT rounds.

The EMBT Tier 10 Premium MBT is available in our Web Shop via Loot Crates. Collect 100 blueprint pieces from these crates to obtain the vehicle.
Boxer CRV
The Boxer CRV is the Infantry Fighting Vehicle variant of the Boxer platform, featuring a cutting edge turret with 30mm autocannon and guided missiles. It is a truly next-gen IFV with orders coming from all over the world, most notably from Australia and Germany. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.

In Armored Warfare, the Boxer CRV is a Tier 9 Premium Armored Fighting Vehicle. It is one of the best IFVs in its class, offering a combination of solid mobility and great firepower, including Mechanized Infantry deployment and the dreaded double-launch ATGM feature.

This bundle is available in our Web Shop.
Australian Boxer Bundle
In addition to the Boxer CRV Tier 9 Premium AFV, we have prepared a special skin for it that transforms it into a vehicle used by the Australian military with the appropriate camouflage, markings and all that. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.

The skin is available as a part of the Australian Boxer Bundle, which contains the following items:

 • Skin: Australian Boxer
 • 3 Platinum Loot Crates
 • 500 Gold

This bundle is available in our Web Shop.
Otomatic
The Otomatic was an attempt from the 1980s and 1990s to mate originally naval 76mm rapid-firing cannon with a tracked chassis (either of Palmaria or a Leopard) to create an advanced anti-aircraft gun. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.

In Armored Warfare, the Otomatic a Tier 9 Premium Tank Destroyer. Thanks to its fast-firing 76mm gun it can deal tremendous amounts of damage over short periods of time and can deal effectively with any target it encounters on the battlefield.

This bundle is available in our Web Shop.
Gepard
The Gepard is one of the best short-range anti-aircraft self-propelled guns in the world. Made primarily for Germany and the Netherlands, it remains in active use to this day and has recently seen some combat in Ukraine. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.

In Armored Warfare, the Gepard a Tier 8 Premium Armored Fighting Vehicle. Unlike the Otomatic, it relies not on a single larger gun, but on the hailstorm of shells provided by its two 35mm autocannons. Even the toughest of targets crumble under its withering fire.

This bundle is available in our Web Shop.
AMX-10 RCR
The AMX 10 RCR is the updated variant of the French AMX 10 RC fire support vehicle by GIAT, originally developed in the early 1980s. This light and nimble wheeled 6x6 AFV was armed with a 105mm gun, allowing it to knock out even armored targets at considerable distances. Over 200 of these aging vehicles were upgraded by Nexter in 2010 with improved armor and electronics, enabling them to fulfill modern battlefield tasks until their eventual replacement by the Jaguar. You can learn more about its history in our dedicated article!

In Armored Warfare, the AMX 10 RCR is a Tier 8 wheeled Premium Tank Destroyer. It’s incredibly agile with its wheeled chassis allowing it to outrun pretty much any enemy on the battlefield save for the fastest AFVs. Its gun accuracy is also top notch, making this vehicle perfect for sniper-style gameplay as its thin armor can’t protect it against enemy shells at close distances. This vehicle also comes with the Hydraulic Suspension active ability.

This bundle is available in our Web Shop.
