Between October 8 and October 15, 2020, the following items will be available:
Type 99A2-140
The Type 99A2-140 is an experimental version of the most advanced Chinese Main Battle Tank in existence – the Type 99A. Unlike its production counterpart, however, it is not armed with a 125mm smoothbore, but massive 140mm smoothbore cannon. This is a theoretical upgrade to the vehicle – while the People’s Republic of China was considering upgrading the firepower of its Main Battle Tanks to face latest western and Russian MBT models, a 140mm gun was never installed on this chassis and was only mentioned in passing by certain Chinese sources. Now, however, your enemies will have the opportunity to experience what such a vehicle with you in command would be like to face in battle!

In Armored Warfare, the Type 99A2-140 is a rather unique Tier 10 Premium Main Battle Tank. It is essentially a version of the progression Type 99A2 Tier 10 MBT with one difference – the 140mm gun, trading its rate of fire for penetration and single shell damage. It is very fast and mobile (with its maximum speed being well over 90 km/h), protected by ERA and APS both and capable of using an acceleration-boosting active ability that pushes its engine far beyond the limits of common Main Battle Tanks. If used right, the vehicle is extremely deadly and one of the best Tier 10 MBTs on the battlefields of Armored Warfare.

The Type 99A2-140 MBT is available in our Web Shop via Loot Crates. Collect 100 blueprint pieces from these crates to obtain the vehicle.
VT-5
The VT-5 is a modern Chinese Light Tank that was developed specifically with export in mind. There are many reasons why a country without its own tank development should opt to purchase a Light Tank instead of a full-scale Main Battle Tank. It’s equally as fast if not faster with equal firepower but, what is most important, it is affordable. The VT-5 excels in all these categories. While its armor cannot match that of an MBT, it can protect its crew against most infantry threats thanks to its ERA and cage armor sets. It also has a powerful 105mm gun capable of firing guided missiles, it is packed with advanced electronics and is supremely agile thanks to its 1000hp diesel engine. Simply put, wraps cutting edge technologies up into an affordable bundle. You can learn more about it in a dedicated article.

In Armored Warfare, the VT-5 is a very powerful Tier 9 Premium Light Tank. Fast and agile, it features solid levels of protection (the configuration in the game is the one featuring the ERA kit as well as the turret cage armor) and a good rate of fire. Additionally, its gun is capable of firing guided missiles. It’s an ideal machine for players who value speed and agility, as it offers plenty of both. The VT-5 is capable of dancing around its opponents on the battlefield, outperforming even some AFVs in mobility.
QN-506
The QN-506 fire support vehicle is a Chinese attempt to design a cheap, export-oriented alternative to the Russian BMPT series. Instead of converting a second or third generation MBT, the engineers at Wuhan Guide Infrared Co., Ltd., likely to keep the vehicle as affordable as possible, opted to base their project on the Type 59 MBT, which is, in its basic form anyway, a copy of the old Soviet T-55 medium tank from the late 1950s. They jam-packed it with cutting edge electronics and a number of weapon systems, including ATGMs, an automatic cannon or smaller caliber rockets. However, despite the use of an unmanned turret, the protection levels of this vehicle are still quite low and, so far, there haven’t been any signs of interest in the QN-506. You can learn more about this vehicle in our dedicated article.

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

In Armored Warfare, the QN-506 is a Premium Tier 9 Tank Destroyer that gameplay-wise resembles the popular BMPT series. However, unlike the Russian Terminators, it has a number of interesting features including tree different weapon systems (30mm cannon, 70mm unguided rockets and 151mm ATGMs) and loitering recon ammunition flying towards the end of a map and spotting everything in its path. The last ability is unique to the QN-506 and makes it one of the most potent support vehicles on the battlefield.
Type 96B
The Type 96B MBT, as its name suggests, is an evolution of the Type 96A, featuring such elements as an upgraded fire control system and a much more powerful engine, resulting in considerably better mobility and speed. Unlike the Type 96A, however, the Type 96B is a prototype, designed for the Chinese military team to use during the annual Tank Biathlon event in Russia. In 2017, the Chinese team won the second place, being defeated only by Russia. You can learn more about its history in our dedicated article!

In Armored Warfare, the Type 96B is a Tier 8 Premium Main Battle Tank. Gameplay-wise, it’s very agile and fast for its class and uses advanced ammunition, making it highly suitable for players who prefer mobility over armor protection, even though it can take a lot of punishment as well.

In Development: Second Spirithaven Raid

Commanders!

With the Enigma’s Legacy Battle Path over and the Anniversary Takedown slowly coming to an end, we understand that you might have some concerns regarding having enough to do in Armored Warfare. No worries though because another Raid event is coming in the near future and it’s going to be a big one.

Now, in case you forgot what Raid is, it’s a month-long event available directly in the game, much like a Battle Path. To join the event, you’ll have to complete 10 Contract Missions or, failing that, it will also be possible to buy your way into it with 499 Gold, but we promise it’ll be worth it.

As raiders, you’ll have a certain territory to conquer, starting from the middle. The territory is of rectangular shape with one of the four main prizes located in each corner. And what prizes they are.
Prizes
Four unique skins await you during this event, each better than the last.

Revenant – an Egyptian-themed skin for the Wilk XC-8 Tier 10 TD. The mysteries of ancient deserts and kingdoms long lost to the sands of time await discovery with the God of Afterlife, Anubis himself, your guide and overlord. Unearth secrets long lost with the Revenant skin and its special abilities. Not only do its wheels show the phases of the Moon, but the hull itself sparks with eldritch energies born from the souls belonging to the jackal-headed divine. On top rests the Skull of Destiny, its eyes glowing with dark fire whenever an unfortunate enemy is spotted. Anubis always hungers for more souls and you are his Reaper. Do not disappoint him, though, or your own will be forfeit.

Hellbeast – this infernal skin is available for the Leclerc T4 Tier 10 MBT. Spawned from the depths of hell, this monster clawed its way out into the world of the living. Black iron, slag and cinder barely contain the inferno within, its very skin ablaze with the fury of its kin. Untamed, the beast will leave only flames and dust in its wake, turning the Earth into a twisted, smoldering version of its home.

Kraken – this skin is available for the K2 Black Panther Tier 10 MBT. There are fates even grimmer than the raging depths of hell. The cold dark of the abyss where souls linger for eons, mournfully looking up towards the unseen skies. The wretched denizens of the deep that eke out an existence feeding upon the damned generations of mariners lost to the sea. The still embrace of an eternity in a watery grave. A torment without end. Such terrors are embodied in the Kraken skin, its essence already half-consumed and phasing into the realm of spirits. Do not succumb to its lures, commanders, lest you join the legions of the dead powering this abomination.

Archangel – this skin is available for the XM1A3 Tier 10 MBT. Where there’s darkness, there must be light, but some light is terrifying to behold, representing not hope, but unforgiving retribution. Expect no mercy from this angel, for his sole focus is the annihilation of the infernal, his focus is unmoving and his quest eternal. He cares not for the suffering of man but should his goals align with yours, you’ll wield the might of all of creation. For a time, at least.

Completing all the missions in the event will unlock a special Raider camouflage for all your vehicles as the ultimate prize for the players who want to have it all.
Rules
To get to them, you have to advance a path to each corner. To advance, you have to complete various randomized missions. You will have a choice between:
 • PvP missions
 • PvE missions
 • General missions

The requirements for each mission will be randomized as well – some may require you to play a certain vehicle class, specific Tiers or even vehicles from a specific dealer. Since the last Raid, we have tuned the difficulty of some of these missions and have removed some of them based on your feedback, so you will hopefully find this Raid easier to progress through and more fun.

There are no timers in this event. You can complete as many missions as you like each day, although it’s worth noting that the missions do not change – to advance along the route you’ve chosen, you have to either complete the mission or choose a different path.

Alternatively, you have two other options that are available for Gold:
 • You can automatically complete a mission using one Raider Ticket
 • You can change the mission to a different one using one Reroll Ticket

These tickets also appear as rewards as you progress through the mission, so you might save one or two for a rainy day.

For each mission completed, the next step along the route will be a Reward Point, where you claim your reward for the mission. There will be many prizes available. These Reward Points are also a part of your path, so you need to choose their position carefully. Either way, you can unlock every single field on the map as long as you complete the missions.

We hope that you will enjoy this event along with the prizes and, as always:

We’ll see you on the battlefield!

Historical Skins – Leopard 2A4HU

Commanders!

For October, we’ve prepared one more historical skin for you. However, unlike the previous ones, this one will not be from the traditional nations, whose vehicles we are typically re-creating. This time, we’ll be focusing on Hungary with a skin for the Leopard 2 progression MBT called Leopard 2A4HU.

This skin is based on a specific vehicle, transferred from Germany to Hungary and officially accepted in service with the Hungarian 25th Rifle Brigade (Magyar Honvédség 25. Klapka György Lövészdandár) on July 24, 2020 during a ceremony attended by the leaders of the Hungarian military, including the minister of defense himself.

In December 2018, Hungary ordered a large amount of armored vehicles from Germany (specifically, from KMW) in order to properly re-arm its armored forces. These included 44 cutting edge Leopard 2A7+ MBTs (called Leopard 2A7HU in Hungarian service), 24 Panzerhaubitze 2000 SPGs and 12 older, refurbished Leopard 2A4 MBTs for training (referred to as Leopard 2A4HU). The abovementioned tank is one of these older Leopards.

Before 2020, Hungary (including the 25th Rifle Brigade) was operating a number of obsolete T-72M1 MBTs (essentially an export version of the T-72A) and towed 122mm howitzers. The modern German weapons will be replacing the old Soviet equipment. All the training Leopard 2A4HU tanks will go to this unit with the training itself being provided by Austrian instructors. The rest of the ordered vehicles should arrive between 2023 and 2025. While not officially known, sources estimate the cost of the entire sum of Hungarian arms acquisitions from Germany at 1.5 billion EUR. One thing is, however, certain. This program will make the Hungarian military one of the strongest and best equipped armies in the region.

We have decided to add this skin to the game not only out of respect for our Hungarian players, but also because the official Hungarian camouflage is, to put it mildly, attractive. As you can see, the skin will not only be properly colored, but will also feature the right insignia, including:
 • Hungarian tricolor
 • 25th Rifle Brigade emblem
 • 11th Tank Battalion emblem

But that’s still not all. Since we understand the desire of you, the players, to paint other vehicles with this awesome camouflage as well, we’ll also be introducing the camo separately for use on any vehicle and in any environment. And that’s still not all. The abovementioned insignia? They’ll be available in the form of separate decals.

But the best part is that all of this will be available for free in October.

We hope that you will enjoy this skin as much as we enjoyed creating it for you even if you aren’t from Hungary and, as always:

See you on the battlefield!

In Development: Directed Mechanized Infantry Fire

Commanders!

When the Mechanized Infantry feature was introduced, we mentioned more options to actually control your troops in combat. The way Mechanized Infantry works now, it effectively only attacks targets closest to it, regardless of their value. In other words, it will fire at the frontal armor of an MBT instead of that fragile AFV hiding behind that.

This will change in one of the future patches coming as a part of Update 0.33. This new feature will be quite simple but very effective. By targeting your enemy and pressing the right key (V by default), your Mechanized Infantry will attack the target as long as it is within its range.

You can direct all three types infantry this way – yes, even mortars.

The target marked for attacking will appear with a special reticle over it. Your Mechanized Infantry will keep attacking it until:
 • It is destroyed
 • It disappears from sight completely
 • It leaves the infantry’s range or line of fire
 • A different target is selected by you

If any of the above occurs, the infantry target lock is broken. Loading your Mechanized Infantry into the vehicle will reset the target lock as well. In other words, this command is useful for specific tactical situations, not for focusing on one target the entire battle.

If any of these events happen, your infantry will fall back to the standard target prioritization and will start attack the nearest target again.

If the selected target is within range for only some of your troops, typically when firing at maximum range, only the specific troops within range will fire at the target (this is essentially only relevant for the AT Squad).

For the future, we are still working on making the Mechanized Infantry mobile (using the same action key), although we currently cannot share any specifics or timeframes for that.

We hope that you will enjoy this feature and, as always:

See you on the battlefield!
