[p]Commanders![/p][p]The Rough Riders Battle Path is coming in the second half of July and, as usual, we’d like to take a moment to tell you more about its prizes.[/p][p][/p][p]As you already know, the topic of this Battle Path is the history of U.S. light tanks – or, rather, the U.S. cavalry. As such, the Battle Path features numerous American-themed prizes, including vehicles and everything else. As usual, we have three new Premium vehicles for you:[/p]

[p]Here are some of them:[/p][p][/p][p]But those are older prizes, what you want to see are some new ones, right? Let’s take a look at some of the new skins and camouflages that are coming in this Battle Path:[/p][p]This skin for the Bradley is called M3A2 Cavalry Fighting Vehicle.[/p][p][/p][p]The M3 series of the Bradley platform is built for reconnaissance, carrying fewer troops and more ammunition and sensors instead. This particular Bradley belonged to the 1st Squadron of the 4th Cavalry Regiment, as seen in November 2004 during Operation Iraqi Freedom, the American invasion of Iraq.[/p][p][/p][p]We chose the Bradley not only for its cavalry version, but also because it’s one of the best performing IFVs in the game currently. And to make things even better, we finally made Bradley’s launcher elevate and depress in battle. Take a look:[/p][p][/p][p]Next skin we have for you is called IPM1 Danger Zone for the M1 Abrams MBT.[/p][p][/p][p]The "Danger Zone" was an IPM1 Abrams participating in (and winning) the 1987 Canadian Army Trophy that took place in the Bergen-Hohne training area. It belonged to Company D of the 4th Squadron, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Armored Division in West Germany. It used a stylized version of the "Bill the Cat" cartoon as its emblem, which was an inside poke at one of its rivals, 3-64 Armor, who had been using the comic-strip cat Garfield as its mascot.[/p][p]Another major emblem was the "Spearhead" belonging to the 3rd Armored Division, located at the back of the turret. The flags on the vehicle were event-specific and were not used in regular service. The Canadian flag was in recognition of the close training between the team and the Royal Canadian Dragoons. And, last but not least, the name "Danger Zone" came from a popular song from the Top Gun movie.[/p][p][/p][p]As you can see, the skin converts the M1 into an IPM1 with its rear turret stowage.[/p][p]The third skin we have for you is called M60A3 Crustacean.[/p][p][/p][p]The "Crustacean" was an M60A1 tank serving in Germany in the 1970s with the 73rd Armor Regiment. It was one of the vehicles selected to test the new camouflage patterns coming out of the MASSTER program in Fort Hood. The variant used on this particular vehicle used two primary colors – Rust Brown and Sand, each covering roughly 40 percent of the vehicle in wide areas. The rest was divided between Forest Green and Black colors. This camouflage appeared in 1973 and was used on multiple vehicles of the VII Corps. The emblem on the tank consisted of a stylized depiction of the Mk.VII Liberty tank from the First World War with a shell on top of it. The meaning of this emblem is unknown.[/p][p]While the original “Crustacean” was an M60A1, we decided to adapt the skin for the M60A3 Main Battle Tank as the M60A1 already has a nice historical skin (the USMC, also available via the Battle Path Shop or during events). The skin is available for both its configurations:[/p][p][/p][p]As for the camouflages, colors and decals – as we mentioned above, these follow the history of U.S. cavalry from the Revolutionary War and the American fight with the British.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]The Civil War was also a major milestone of the U.S. cavalry history with both sides relying on brilliant commanders and brave soldiers.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Then came the Rough Rider era and both World Wars that saw the cavalry change into a powerful mechanized force.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]The Cold War saw the cavalry change again into an Air Cavalry branch with helicopters and Armored Cavalry with heavy vehicles, including tanks.[/p][p][/p][p]And even after the fall of the Soviet Union, America’s greatest adversary, the cavalry units continue to uphold their traditions as a new threat rises to challenge the most powerful military the world has ever seen.[/p][p][/p][p]This and much more is waiting for you in the Rough Riders Battle Path. Despite being plagued by developmental problems, the program to replace the aging Warrior IFV produced one of the best vehicles in its class. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.[/p][p][/p][p]In Armored Warfare, the Ajax is a Tier 10 Premium AFV featuring solid protection levels and excellent sustained firepower. It was built as a private venture by General Dynamics Land Systems and unveiled in 2022 to show what the future of the Abrams MBT could look like. It is considerably lighter than a fully upgraded Abrams while retaining its protection levels and firepower thanks to its cutting edge systems. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.[/p][p][/p][p]In Armored Warfare, the AbramsX is a Tier 10 Premium Main Battle Tank. While still maintaining the basic Abrams line features such as a 120mm gun, it is considerably lighter and less armored. On the other hand it is also faster, more agile, stealthier, and features a 30mm autocannon that can reduce most light vehicles to a pile of scrap in seconds thanks to its new ammunition. As a result, this tank can dish out a lot of damage but requires careful and skilled gameplay.[/p][p]The AbramsX Tier 10 Premium MBT is available in our Web Shop via Loot Crates. Collect 100 blueprint pieces from these crates to obtain the vehicle.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][h2]MPF Light Tank[/h2][p][/p][p]The General Dynamics Light Tank prototype is one of the contenders in the U.S. Mobile Protected Firepower program to replace the Stryker platform in the fire support role for the U.S. Airborne forces. It is one of very few modern Light Tanks in existence. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.[/p][p][/p][p]In Armored Warfare, the MPF is a Tier 10 Premium Light Tank. Within its class, it’s one of the heaviest and the best protected specimen with its hull protected by NERA armor capable of absorbing damage in the initial stages of battle. With its powerful 120mm gun and decent mobility, it is a decent front-line fighter, holding its own even in the thickest of fighting.[/p][p]The MPF Tier 10 Premium LT is available in our Web Shop via Loot Crates. It was built as a private venture; effectively a scaled-up example of General Dynamics was capable of providing when it came to highly mobile vehicles with a lot of firepower for the U.S. airborne forces. The U.S. Army was impressed and the design has since evolved into what is generally referred to as the MPF Light Tank. You can read more about this vehicle in our dedicated article.[/p][p][/p][p]In Armored Warfare, the Griffin 120mm is a Tier 8 Premium Light Tank and a powerful, fast machine, armed not only with its 120mm cannon, but also with special ammunition types, making it deadly at any distance. Few Tier 9 vehicles can match its sheer ferocity on the battlefield.[/p][p]This bundle is available in our Web Shop.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][h2]Bradley AAWS-H[/h2][p][/p][p]The Bradley AAWS-H Tank Destroyer was an attempt by Loral Vought to mount four kinetic guided missiles on an extendable arm while using the Bradley IFV chassis as a platform. Kinetic missiles were cutting edge tech back in the 1980s – unlike standard ATGMs, they destroyed the target by their kinetic energy instead of a HEAT warhead, accelerating to several times the speed of sound. There was little to no defense against them, although they did have some drawbacks, which was why they were never adopted in real life. You can read more about the vehicle in our dedicated article.[/p][p][/p][p]In Armored Warfare, the Bradley AAWS-H is a Tier 8 Premium Tank Destroyer. It’s an ATGM-based TD, carrying special kinetic missiles that actually become more effective with increasing distance to your target. It is the embodiment of a long-range missile carrier and is perfect for players who prefer sniping to close combat.[/p][p]This bundle is available in our Web Shop.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][h2]Stryker ADATS[/h2][p][/p][p]ADATS stands for “Air Defense Anti-Tank System,” describing its purpose very well. The system is intended to engage both air and ground armored targets. It was developed in the 1980s by a Swiss company called Oerlikon-Contraves and was offered as an interesting hybrid that would be able to deal with both Soviet tanks and helicopters or attack planes. Unfortunately for it, it came too late – only Canada would actually accept it in service and the end of the Cold War meant the end to all attempts at its large-scale introduction. The ADATS missiles were quite large but, more importantly, extremely fast and were certain to be extremely destructive to any Soviet armored targets, even though this thankfully never had to be tested in real combat. The ADATS turret was offered for a wide variety of platforms and was actively installed on a vehicle that is kind of like a cousin to the Stryker, the Canadian LAV-III. In this configuration, the vehicle was called MMEV.[/p][p][/p][p]In Armored Warfare, Stryker ADATS is a Tier 9 Premium Tank Destroyer. It is a wheeled vehicle armed with two weapon systems – powerful long-range guided missiles and short-range unguided rockets, offering it some survivability in short range combat as well as the ability to deal tremendous damage if left to its devices.[/p][p]This bundle is available in our Web Shop.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][h2]M1A1 Storm[/h2][p][/p][p]In 1985, the Abrams was upgraded with, amongst other things, the 120mm M256 smoothbore cannon. Over 5000 M1A1 tanks were produced until 1992. This tank participated in Operation Desert Storm, which forged its legendary reputation.[/p][p][/p][p]In Armored Warfare, the M1A1 Storm is a Tier 7 Premium Main Battle Tank. The M1A1 Storm look was inspired by Operation Desert Storm, including a gorgeous camouflage net model.
