This difficult achievement requires players to complete the "War" Special Operation on the Extreme difficulty while preventing the enemy from dealing any damage to the fuel train.

Historical Camouflages – Israel

Commanders!

Today, we’d like to tell you about a historical base paint and camouflage that will soon be available in Armored Warfare, both belonging to a country that we haven’t introduced any camouflage for yet – Israel.

There’s a good reason for that. Israel isn’t really known for using tank camouflage. The most notable example are the Merkava Main Battle Tanks, which typically come painted with a single color that’s generally (and officially) refer to as Sinai Grey.

Sinai Grey has been in use for a very long time by the IDF – since the 1980s at least. It is that strangely nondescript olive color of Israeli MBTs that has this interesting feature of seemingly changing its tone depending on its surroundings. This is indeed an optical illusion, but only partially. In reality, there is no single official Sinai Grey color. There have been multiple shades over the years and the paintjob also differs from unit to unit, typically depending on the area of operations. The vehicles are painted by the units that use them and their commanders, in a typical IDF fashion, have enough freedom to incorporate local environmental colors into the paintjob.

We’ve chosen one particular, somewhat darker shade of Sinai Grey that can be seen on several vehicles in the Latrun museum. Needless to say, it’ll go really well with your Merkavas.

Speaking of Merkavas, you likely haven’t seen many in a camouflage. The IDF doesn’t use any camouflage patterns on Merkavas simply because it’s unnecessary. The vehicles blend in fairly well with the paint alone.

However, in the late 1980s, Israel developed an experimental camouflage for its Merkava MBTs. This camouflage consisted of olive, sand and dark grey stripes across the entire vehicle. At least three different tanks (Merkava Mk.2B models) have been painted this way and tested between 1988 and 1990 or 1991 in the Golan Heights, specifically at the base near the ancient settlement of Nafah.

The vehicles belonged to the Bet Company of the 82nd Armor Battalion “Gaash” (Hebrew for “Rage”), 7th Armored Brigade. The trials didn’t go anywhere – the IDF simply deemed the paintjob unnecessary.

The 7th Armored Brigade still exists as one of the best armored units of the IDF and is currently equipped with the cutting edge Merkava Mk.4M model as its main MBT. It still guards the Golan Heights from any enemy intrusions.

This camouflage will be usable on all vehicles and for all environments. We do hope you’ll enjoy it and, as always:

See you on the battlefield!

Scavenger Run is here!

Commanders!

Today, we’d like to tell you about one new feature that may perhaps not exactly be long-awaited or ground-breaking, but we do hope you’ll find it useful nonetheless. It is a mini-game called Scavenger Run.

So, let’s talk about Gold. It’s a premium currency you can use for all sorts of things, but, perhaps most importantly, Gold really comes in handy during an active Battle Path, in which it can be exchanged for Battle Coins.

Starting on April 5, you’ll be able to earn a major bonus to your next Gold purchase (even a truly massive one, like 80 percent) by participating in the Scavenger Run event. In other words, in case you win such a bonus and buy 1.000 Gold, you’ll receive 1.800 Gold instead. And that can make one hell of a difference (please note, however, that the maximum amount of bonus Gold obtainable this way is 10.000 Gold).

Scavenger Run is, in its core, a very simple event. There are many ruined and abandoned objects across the world of Armored Warfare and your friendly neighborhood arms dealer ran across one of them. You are now being hired to scout it out. On a small map, you choose one of three bases and then scout its three warehouses by clicking on them. Depending on your finds (determined randomly), you will receive a sizeable bonus to your next Gold purchase.

This event will be occasionally active for several days (the counter in Garage will always tell you how much time is left), so if you’re planning to stock on Gold for the next Battle Path or simply want to boost your progress right now, it’s the perfect opportunity to do so.

We hope that you’ll enjoy this new mechanic and, as always:

Weekend Offer: Object 640

Commanders!

Today, we’d like to again give you the opportunity to obtain the Object 640 Tier 10 Premium Main Battle Tank (otherwise known as the Black Eagle), which incidentally works very well in the recently launched Realistic Battle mode. The tank is available until Sunday, 16:00 CEST.

The Object 640 is one of the last Soviet era “super tank” monsters, designed to surpass anything the west could field on the battlefield. It featured extremely advanced armor, making it highly resistant to hits while keeping its weight low. The design was truly revolutionary for the late 1980s, but, like with many other Soviet projects of the era, it was discontinued due to the lack of funding. You can learn more about it in a dedicated article.

In Armored Warfare, the Object 640 “Black Eagle” is a Tier 10 Premium Main Battle Tank. It is a fast, agile and well-protected vehicle that plays in a typical Russian-style MBT fashion – ideal for players who want to take things up close and personal. This version of the tank does not feature any camouflage and is ready to be customized as you see fit.

The Object 640 Tier 10 Premium MBT is available in our Web Shop via Loot Crates. Collect 100 blueprint pieces from these crates to obtain the vehicle.

We hope that you will enjoy the offer and, as always:
