Community Highlight: Two-Man Heroic

Commanders!

The PvE difficulty called Heroic, available only to Battalion players, is the ultimate PvE difficulty level of Armored Warfare. Normally, it requires a full, organized five-man platoon to complete one such mission, but there are extraordinary players for whom this just still seems too easy. This weekend, players dark_demigod and danlambo successfully passed the Meeting in Batumi mission by themselves. That's right, a mission intended for five organized players was done by just the two of them. In the video below, you can see how they did it:

We are happy to have such devoted and skilled players in Armored Warfare and are looking forward to more such feats. Don't hesitate to share yours on our official Discord and, as always:

See you on the battlefield!

In Development: Quality of Life Improvements

Commanders!

Update 0.33 won’t only contain big changes that will change the feel of the entire game, such as the previously announced Tier 7-10 rebalance. There will also be smaller (but equally important) quality of life features, some of which we want to tell you about today.

Battle-Hardened improvements – As you know, the Battle-Hardened status is a semi-premium state where, in exchange for Gold, your fully unlocked progression vehicle starts earning more Credits and XP. In Update 0.33, we’ll be giving it one more interesting function to increase its value. Battle-hardened vehicles will have preferential Matchmaking – that is, they will not encounter vehicles two Tiers higher in any of their battles. This will allow for more comfortable gameplay with this feature unlocked.

Camo and Skin Appearance – There is significant group of players, who prefer their vehicles “as they are” and do not feel the need to purchase camouflages or skins, but have purchased it anyway for the camouflage bonus. In Update 0.33, such players will have the option to disable their own camouflage for their client in the game’s Settings tab. To you, your tank will appear without a skin or camouflage. To the other players, it will appear as if it has a skin or camouflage unlocked. Please note, however, that old vehicles with fixed camouflage (commonly referred to as “reskins”) will not be affected by this setting.

Avatar and Title Improvements – Player avatars and titles will become more prominent, appearing for example in your Friend list or, more importantly, on loading screens. This will become noticeable especially in PvE where you’ll be able to show your vintage event avatar to everyone who’s getting in battle with you.

No more Fuel Fires – This is a minor mechanics change but still a useful one. In Update 0.33, vehicles will not suffer from fires caused by their fuel tanks. All fuel tank modules will effectively become indestructible. It will still be possible to set the engines on fire, but the fuel will be protected.

We’re also preparing some armor and ammunition tooltip improvements and other smaller changes which we hope you’ll enjoy, but that’s a story for another time. Right now, it’s back to the big stuff in our next Developer Diary article. So, until then:

See you on the battlefield!

Camouflage Loot Crate now available

Commanders!

Today, we’d like to introduce you a brand-new Loot Crate type, available on MY.GAMES Market – the Camouflage Loot Crate.

As its name suggests, this new Loot Crate, available until August 13, 2020 (along with the other weekly offer), contains various camouflages.

This iteration contains the following ones (click on their names where designated to learn of their real life background):

The mechanics are very simple. Each crate allows you to win one of the listed items (or its value in Gold if you have it already, in this case 1.000 Gold per camouflage).

To learn more about what's in a chest simply click on it, this will launch a small pop up window to show you what’s inside. You will find everything from in-game currency packs to consumables and exclusive skins that can only be found in these chests!

Please note:

After opening the crate, you will immediately roll on one of the items that are inside this Loot Crate and will see what you receive before you have to actually pay anything. No more random chances – you immediately see what you get and what you don’t. You can then opt to purchase the item you rolled on for the Loot Crate’s price. Until you do so, you will be unable to buy any other Loot Crate of the same type.

We hope that you will enjoy the offer and, as always:

See you on the battlefield!

Offer: Type 99A2-140, QN-506, Iron Crate

Commanders!

This week, we’ve prepared another set of attractive items for you along with 20% bonus to Credit income for every battle:
 • Type 99A2-140 Tier 10 Premium Main Battle Tank
 • QN-506 Tier 9 Premium Tank Destroyer
 • Type 96B Tier 8 Premium Main Battle Tank
 • Iron Crate
Between August 6 and August 13, 2020, the following items will be available:
Type 99A2-140
The Type 99A2-140 is an experimental version of the most advanced Chinese Main Battle Tank in existence – the Type 99A. Unlike its production counterpart, however, it is not armed with a 125mm smoothbore, but massive 140mm smoothbore cannon. This is a theoretical upgrade to the vehicle – while the People’s Republic of China was considering upgrading the firepower of its Main Battle Tanks to face latest western and Russian MBT models, a 140mm gun was never installed on this chassis and was only mentioned in passing by certain Chinese sources. Now, however, your enemies will have the opportunity to experience what such a vehicle with you in command would be like to face in battle!

In Armored Warfare, the Type 99A2-140 is a rather unique Tier 10 Premium Main Battle Tank. It is essentially a version of the progression Type 99A2 Tier 10 MBT with one difference – the 140mm gun, trading its rate of fire for penetration and single shell damage. It is very fast and mobile (with its maximum speed being well over 90 km/h), protected by ERA and APS both and capable of using an acceleration-boosting active ability that pushes its engine far beyond the limits of common Main Battle Tanks. If used right, the vehicle is extremely deadly and one of the best Tier 10 MBTs on the battlefields of Armored Warfare.

The Type 99A2-140 MBT is available in our Web Shop via Loot Crates. Collect 100 blueprint pieces from these crates to obtain the vehicle.
QN-506
The QN-506 fire support vehicle is a Chinese attempt to design a cheap, export-oriented alternative to the Russian BMPT series. Instead of converting a second or third generation MBT, the engineers at Wuhan Guide Infrared Co., Ltd., likely to keep the vehicle as affordable as possible, opted to base their project on the Type 59 MBT, which is, in its basic form anyway, a copy of the old Soviet T-55 medium tank from the late 1950s. They jam-packed it with cutting edge electronics and a number of weapon systems, including ATGMs, an automatic cannon or smaller caliber rockets. However, despite the use of an unmanned turret, the protection levels of this vehicle are still quite low and, so far, there haven’t been any signs of interest in the QN-506. You can learn more about this vehicle in our dedicated article.

In Armored Warfare, the QN-506 is a Premium Tier 9 Tank Destroyer that gameplay-wise resembles the popular BMPT series. However, unlike the Russian Terminators, it has a number of interesting features including tree different weapon systems (30mm cannon, 70mm unguided rockets and 151mm ATGMs) and loitering recon ammunition flying towards the end of a map and spotting everything in its path. The last ability is unique to the QN-506 and makes it one of the most potent support vehicles on the battlefield.
Type 96B
The Type 96B MBT, as its name suggests, is an evolution of the Type 96A, featuring such elements as an upgraded fire control system and a much more powerful engine, resulting in considerably better mobility and speed. Unlike the Type 96A, however, the Type 96B is a prototype, designed for the Chinese military team to use during the annual Tank Biathlon event in Russia. In 2017, the Chinese team won the second place, being defeated only by Russia. You can learn more about its history in our dedicated article!

In Armored Warfare, the Type 96B is a Tier 8 Premium Main Battle Tank. Gameplay-wise, it’s very agile and fast for its class and uses advanced ammunition, making it highly suitable for players who prefer mobility over armor protection, even though it can take a lot of punishment as well.
Iron Crate
We’ve prepared for you an additional offer this week. Between August 6 and August 13, 2020, the Iron Crate will be available on MY.GAMES Market with 50% discount!

The mechanics are very simple. This crate allows you to win one of the vehicles listed in its description (or its value in Gold if you have it already). For a full list, please visit the MY.GAMES Market Iron Crate page.

We hope that you will enjoy the offer and, as always:

See you on the battlefield!
