Bundeswehr skin for Leopard 2A6
The Bundeswehr skin for the Leopard 2A6 Tier 9 progression Main Battle Tank visually converts in MBT into a Leopard 2A7 thanks to the changes we’ve made in the tank’s geometry. While it won’t give you any additional performance, it will allow you to make your Leopard 2A6 like the best MBT Germany currently has available. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.

The skin is available in two bundles:
 • Leopard 2A6 Bundeswehr bundle along with a new German winter camouflage
 • Leopard bundle along with the Bundeswehr skin for Leopard 2A5

Please note that the bundle includes the skins but not the Leopard 2A5 or the Leopard 2A6 MBT itself. This tank needs to be obtained via progression directly in the game.
Bundeswehr skin for Leopard 2A5
The Bundeswehr skin for the Leopard 2A5 Tier 8 progression Main Battle Tank is loosely based on a real life Leopard 2 vehicle from Panzerbataillon 104 stationed in Pfreimd, Bavaria. It features the typical German NATO camouflage, unit insignia and a camouflage net on top. If you ever dreamt of driving a Bundeswehr tank in Armored Warfare, this is as close as you’re going to get to it! You can read more about it in our dedicated article.

Please note that the bundle includes the skins but not the Leopard 2A5 MBT itself. This tank needs to be obtained via progression directly in the game. The skin is available in the Leopard bundle along with the Bundeswehr skin for the Leopard 2A6 MBT.
German Camouflage Bundle
German vehicles appeared in a wide range of different camouflages over the last five decades. This bundle contains pretty much all the older German camouflages that are currently implemented in Armored Warfare, including a brand new German Winter camouflage. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.

The bundle contains the following items:

These camouflages can be used in any environment and on any vehicle that allows you to do so but look the best on German vehicles such as the Leopard series.
Leopard 2 Revolution
The Leopard 2 Revolution is a continuation of the older Evolution upgrade, intended to improve the performance of the older variants of the Leopard 2 Main Battle Tank in order to make it excel even on the battlefields of the 21st century. The improvements include a comprehensive armor upgrade, ROSY soft-kill APS and smoke grenade launchers as well as an entire suite of cutting edge electronics. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.

In Armored Warfare, the Leopard 2 Revolution is a Tier 8 Main Battle Tank. It is not only well-armored, it also features an extremely accurate 120mm gun with advanced ammunition, allowing it to destroy its opponents at very long ranges, rivaling those of Tank Destroyers. The German tanks in general perform best at longer ranges and the Revolution is no exception.

This offer also includes the Wallbreaker version. This vehicle features unique Berlin Wall-themed camouflage.
Kampfpanzer 70
The Kampfpanzer 70 is the German sibling of the MBT-70. Back in the 1960s, the Germans and the Americans cooperated on the creation of a new, highly advanced Main Battle Tank, armed with a powerful 152mm gun and cutting edge technology. The project was a failure and the tank was never adopted for several reasons, including an extremely high price. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.

In Armored Warfare, the Kampfpanzer 70 is a Tier 6 Premium Main Battle Tank, just like the MBT-70. Although both vehicles generally look the same way, there are some differences. For one, the Kampfpanzer 70 cannot fire the Shillelagh guided missiles, but can use HE ammunition, making it truly deadly against lightly armored opponents.
Panzer 87-140
The Panzer 87-140 is an experimental version of Panzer 87 (Swiss Leopard 2A4), fitted with a RUAG 140mm smoothbore cannon and an armor kit called WE. It was developed in the 1980s and early 1990s to counter the next generation of Soviet MBTs, but with the collapse of the Soviet Union, the project was shelved, only to resurface around 2005-2006 but never passing the experimental stage. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.

In Armored Warfare, the Panzer 87-140 is a Tier 10 Premium Main Battle Tank. Much like other Leopard series MBTs, it’s a long-range fighter with an extremely powerful gun and the ability to fire with pinpoint accuracy. Even though its armor leaves much to be desired, at long range, this MBT has few equals and can be considered one of the best snipers of its class.

The Panzer 87-140 Tier 10 Premium MBT is available in our Web Shop via Loot Crates. Collect 100 blueprint pieces from these crates to obtain the vehicle.
Leclerc T40
Sometimes called the French Terminator, this vehicle was designed on the Leclerc MBT chassis with one purpose in mind – to accompany tanks and fight off infantry attacks the same way as the Russian BMPT series does. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.

In Armored Warfare, the Leclerc T40 is a Tier 9 Premium Tank Destroyer. It offers you a combination of a durable hull, rapid-fire 40mm automatic cannon and, most importantly, the Javelin missile system. Simply right-click the target, wait until it becomes locket and fire the Javelin ATGM – it will home itself on the target, attacking its weak roof armor. Thanks to this ability, the Leclerc T40 is one of the most destructive vehicles in the game.
Marder 2
The Marder 2 was an experimental German IFV, developed in the late 1980s to replace the aging Marder IFV. It featured more armor, a new turret and a brand-new Rheinmetall dual-caliber autocannon that could fire both 35mm and 50mm rounds. Despite its qualities, the vehicle was never accepted in service due to its high cost and because it was no longer needed because of the fall of the Soviet Union. A single surviving prototype can be found today in the Koblenz military collection. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.

In Armored Warfare, the Marder 2 is a Tier 8 Armored Fighting Vehicle. With its 44 tons, it’s one of the heaviest and toughest AFVs around. Unlike many other AFVs of its Tier, it is not armed with guided missiles, relying instead on its extremely powerful 50mm autocannon. This vehicle can also deploy Mechanized Infantry.
AMX-10 RCR
The AMX 10 RCR is the updated variant of the French AMX 10 RC fire support vehicle by GIAT, originally developed in the early 1980s. This light and nimble wheeled 6x6 AFV was armed with a 105mm gun, allowing it to knock out even armored targets at considerable distances. Over 200 of these aging vehicles were upgraded by Nexter in 2010 with improved armor and electronics, enabling them to fulfill modern battlefield tasks until their eventual replacement by the Jaguar. You can learn more about its history in our dedicated article!

In Armored Warfare, the AMX 10 RCR is a Tier 8 wheeled Premium Tank Destroyer. It’s incredibly agile with its wheeled chassis allowing it to outrun pretty much any enemy on the battlefield save for the fastest AFVs. Its gun accuracy is also top notch, making this vehicle perfect for sniper-style gameplay as its thin armor can’t protect it against enemy shells at close distances. This vehicle also comes with the Hydraulic Suspension active ability.
Pile of Gold
We also have the Pile of Gold Loot Crate for you. This Loot Crate contains copious amounts of Gold for you to win.

This Loot Crate includes:
 • 250.000 Gold
 • 100.000 Gold
 • 50.000 Gold
 • 10.000 Gold
 • 5.000 Gold
 • 1.000 Gold
 • 500 Gold
 • 100 Gold

Starting today, we’re implementing a new mechanic to the MY.GAMES Market Loot Crates (no worries – the in-game crates will remain the same). The mechanic is simple – instead of purchasing the Loot Crates, you purchase keys to them, which you then use to unlock them.

However, please note:
 • Discounts do not apply to Loot Crates, but rather to Keys
 • It is possible to buy multiple keys for a single chest type
 • Keys belong to individual Loot Crates (that is, a key to a Commander Loot Crate purchased now is not guaranteed to work on a Commander Loot Crate a month down the line)
 • Keys can be found in a separate Market section

We hope that you will enjoy the offer and, as always:

See you on the battlefield!

Historical Camouflages – German Winter

Commanders!

Today, we’d like to tell you more about a new German Winter camouflage that’s going to appear in Armored Warfare in the near future.

This is the winter version of the standard 1986 camouflage pattern the Germans and the French (as well as some other countries) use extensively. The whole idea behind this camouflage pattern was to make it easily convertible from summer to winter color sets (at least in European conditions) by replacing one – the black – with white.

Simply put, the vehicles are painted in the standard green, brown and black stripes and when necessary, the black stripes get re-painted white either using spray or brushes. It doesn’t even have to be permanent or durable – simple lime paint can be enough.

The Germans would do this for various military trainings, especially in the 1980s. Our camo is based on the one used on a Marder IFV from Panzergrenadierbataillon 152 (152th Mechanized Infantry Battalion) during such an exercise.

We hope that you’ll enjoy these prizes and, as always:

See you on the battlefield!

Historical Skins – Leopard 2A6 Bundeswehr

Commanders!

Today, we’d like to tell you more about the Bundeswehr skin for the Leopard 2A6 Tier 9 progression MBT.

To those of you who have been with us for some time, the name might seem familiar. And indeed, last year, we also had a Bundeswehr skin, changing the standard look of a progression Leopard to that of a tank used by the Bundeswehr, including its NATO camouflage, camouflage net and its insignia. Last year, we offered you this option for the Leopard 2A5 Tier 8 MBT whereas this year, we’re aiming one Tier higher. But that’s not all there is to this skin – it comes with a significant plot twist.

You see, this skin effectively converts your Leopard 2A6 into a Leopard 2A7. Perhaps a bit of history first, to explain what we mean.

In the distant past, the Tier 10 Leopard 2 had two configurations – a stock one that looked effectively like a Leopard 2A6, and an improved one that you know today as Leopard 2AX (with the Espace armor kit). During one of the past rebalances of the game, the stock configuration was removed because it did not fit the new Tier 10 balance. However, you’ve been asking for the introduction of a Leopard 2A7 ever since, ideally to replace the unhistorical Leopard 2AX on Tier 10.

Sadly, we can’t do that and here’s why. The most important reason is that for all intents and purposes, the 2A7 variant is in the game already. When you upgrade your Leopard 2A6 to its best configuration, you end up with all the essential improvements that make the Leopard 2A7 a Leopard 2A7. You’ll have improved ammunition and improved FCS. The other 2A7’s upgrades that are essential in real life – such as the additional APU – have no real meaning in Armored Warfare. In fact, the upgraded 2A6 armor model – which is based on a rather obscure Leopard 2A6EX prototype – isn’t a part of the core 2A7 program, so you effectively have a better vehicle on Tier 9 than a Tier 10 Leopard 2A7 would have been.

Nevertheless, we considered for some time the ways to bring you what you are asking for and decided to implement the Leopard 2A7 as a skin. At first, we thought it would be a good idea to simply name the skin “Leopard 2A7”, but after some deliberations, it was decided that this name would carry the expectations of improved performance with it and this is, after all, still only a skin. That is why we settled on the “Bundeswehr” name.

Aside from the camouflage and markings, the best way to tell it’s a Leopard 2A7 is the bulges in the rear that are housing an APU. They are sleeker and better integrated than the boxy modules of the earlier 2A6EX.

The camouflage net, the insignia and the license plate have all been modeled after a specific Leopard 2 belonging to Panzerbataillon 393 (393rd Tank Battalion), stationed in Bad Frankenhausen (Thüringen, central Germany). This unit has recently (September 2021) received its Leopard 2A7 MBTs, replacing the older Leopard 2A6 models.

The skin will also be available in the upgraded armor configuration. While not realistic for the Bundeswehr, it roughly matches that of the Danish Leopard 2A7DK MBTs.

We hope that you’ll enjoy this and, as always:

See you on the battlefield!
