• Object 187 Tier 7 Premium Main Battle Tank (standalone)
Between August 12 and August 19, 2021, the following items will be available:
Armata 152
The Armata 152 is a version of the T-14 Armata, armed with larger cannon. One of the upgrades considered for the T-14 Armata was the increase of its caliber to 152mm in order to absolutely, positively destroy anything with the first shot. The 2A83 smoothbore is a behemoth of a gun, designed in the last days of the Soviet empire for the next generation of super-tanks. It’s massive, heavy and quite costly to produce, but, most importantly, it was never truly needed to deal with the western MBTs since the standard 125mm guns were (and still are) up to the task. That is why it never found its way on any Soviet MBT with even the standard T-14 Armata being armed with an improved 125mm cannon. You can, however, experience its awesome firepower in Armored Warfare! Learn more about it in a dedicated article.

In Armored Warfare, the T-14 Armata 152 is a Tier 10 Premium Main Battle Tank. While not firing as fast as its 125mm counterpart, the 152mm rounds do enormous damage, often eliminating weaker opponents with a single shot. And then there’s the platform itself – the Armata, the most modern Main Battle Tank in the world. Earn it and use it to dominate!

The Armata 152 Tier 10 Premium MBT is available in our Web Shop via Loot Crates. Collect 100 blueprint pieces from these crates to obtain the vehicle.
Military Bundles
This week, we’ve prepared three special Military bundles with real-life camouflages.

The T-72B3 Military Bundle includes (apart from the vehicle itself) the Kantemirovskaya division real-life camouflage and free a Guards Badge decal belonging the elite units of the Soviet army. The camouflage will, of course, come in handy for other vehicles as well. For example, it’s ideal for the T-80U Main Battle Tank or the BMP series of vehicles, since these are used by the Kantemirovskaya division.

The second T-72B3 Military Bundle, on the other hand, includes (once again, apart from the vehicle itself), the Red Army khaki base paint, three Russian real-life camouflages and a decal that can be typically seen on various military parade vehicles of the Russian army. Together, they allow you to customize your T-72B3 to look the way it can be seen in reality. The camouflages will, of course, come in handy for other vehicles as well.

And finally, the Object 187 Military Bundle includes, apart from the vehicle itself, the attractive Volna real-life camouflage (as seen on an actual T-80B MBT in the 1990s) and a decal depicting the crest of the Academy of the Russian Army.
T-72B3
The T-72B3 is the most modern Russian T-72 variant currently in service. It is a heavily upgraded version of the T-72B, featuring Kontakt-5 ERA kit and an improved Fire Control System. Together, these modifications allow the aging T-72 to serve well into the 21st century. You can learn more about its history in our dedicated article!

In Armored Warfare, the T-72B3 is a Tier 8 Premium Main Battle Tank. It continues the tradition of other Russian tanks. Its low silhouette, good mobility, powerful 125mm gun and its advanced ERA kit make it a formidable opponent. This version of the T-72B3 is offered without any camouflage.
BMPT Mod.2017
The BMPT Mod.2017 is one specific version of the BMPT Terminator that was deployed in 2017 in Syria for extended testing along with some other Russian prototype equipment, including the SU-57 jet fighter and the Uran-9 combat robot. It consists of a modified T-90 hull with a modernized turret from BMPT-72 installed on it. Another major difference was the presence of a new type of Explosive Reactive Armor that was made of soft fabric bags with explosive filler. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.

In Armored Warfare, the BMPT Mod. 2017 is a Tier 8 Premium Tank Destroyer and arguably the most powerful variant of the BMPT family. Like the others, it combines a tank hull with an unmanned turret, armed with two 30mm cannons as well as four missile launchers. Its thick armor and advanced ATGMs quickly made it one of the most feared vehicles of Tier 8 battlefields, a position it retains to this day.
Object 187
The Object 187 was a Soviet era program, developed to improve upon the excellent but ageing T-72 Main Battle Tank. Several prototypes were built, featuring a number of advanced elements compared to the older Soviet tanks, such as the new long 125mm smoothbore gun with a typical muzzle brake. The result was an excellent MBT that was, however, never mass-produced due to the 1990s Russian military budget cuts – the Russian army chose a less advanced but cheaper T-90 instead. You can learn more about it in our dedicated article.

In Armored Warfare, the Object 187 is a typical Russian style Main Battle Tank – it’s suitable for an aggressive play style and is a good choice for the players who prefer to take on their opponents at close ranges.

This vehicle is now available as a standalone item.

We hope that you will enjoy the offer and, as always:

See you on the battlefield!

Maintenance - August 12

On the 12th of August 2021, starting from 8:00 CEST (11th of August, 11 PM PDT), the server will not be available for 5 hours due to the application of Update 0.36.8306
List of Update 0.36.8306 Changes
Challenger Improvements

We have generally improved the armor profile of the Challenger series of MBTs (and their variants). This includes the following changes:
 • For the Challenger 2 and ATDU, we fixed their vulnerable turret rings
 • Side armor of all Challenger series MBTs improved by 100 to 130mm
 • Fixed the upgraded side armor for the Challenger 2 and ATDU MBTs and made it 4 times thicker

This way, the Challenger 2 series and the new Challenger 2 Streetfighter II MBT (which is also coming in this patch) become far better at withstanding frontal fire.

Global Operations

We have adjusted several Wildcard hitpoint values. Specifically:
 • Instead of having 500 hitpoints on all Tiers, the Helicopter and the UAV hitpoints now scale between 2000 on Tier 10 and 1400 on Tier 5
 • Instead of having 1000 to 2000 hitpoints on various Tiers, the Pillbox hitpoints now scale between 4500 on Tier 10 and 3200 on Tier 5
General Changes
 • CV90 Mk.IV: Fixed the misaligned aiming bug
 • T-80U: Improved the vehicle’s textures (model overhaul still pending)
 • Fixed an issue with the five new PvE missions where reconnecting would sometimes lead to the objectives or a UAV disappearing
 • Fixed an issue where the arms trucks you need to destroy didn’t take any damage when targeting their cabin in the Desert Viper mission
 • Fixed an issue with the new Objective UI where the animation of the appearance of a new objective sometimes wouldn’t play correctly
 • Added a large number of assets for future events
 • Fixed the Polish texts of the Merc on Vacation event
 • Fixed several smaller vehicle model issues

Historical Skins – CV90CZ

Commanders!

The Northern Wind Battle Path is currently available and one of its prizes is the most excellent CV90 Mk.IV Tier 8 Premium Armored Fighting Vehicle. You can receive it for reaching Level 30 in the Battle Path’s progression.

This IFV combines high sustained firepower, decent mobility and the ability to deploy Mechanized Infantry, all three blending into a uniquely powerful fire support platform. That also makes it an excellent target for our next real-life-based skin and today, we’d like to tell you more about one that we are working on. It has a very short, simple name: CV90CZ.

Those of you familiar with the CV90 variants may have already guessed that the CZ letters stand for “Czech Republic” because this is how various “national” CV90 variants are typically identified. The thing is, the Czech Republic doesn’t use the CV90 – not yet, at least.

For years now, the Czech army has been trying to replace the by now completely obsolete BMP-2 IFV, which was (under the designation BVP-2) produced in former Czechoslovakia in the 1980s. This has been a painful topic in the Czech military for more than a decade with the discussion going back and forth between BMP-2 modernization and replacement. However, over the last five years, it has become increasingly clear that a cheap modernization just wouldn’t cut it. The BMP chassis is simply too obsolete for a military that has to rely on technological edge over sheer quantity.

And so a major tender was launched in the spring of 2019 to find the BMP’s replacement. The Czech Army is looking for roughly 210 AFVs (one platform with multiple variants) worth 52 billion CZK (roughly 2 billion EUR). To nobody’s surprise, the whole thing has been a mess so far, and not just because of COVID. Various companies and options were considered and it boiled down to three candidates:
 • Lynx KF41 by Rheinmetall
 • CV90 by BAE Systems (an improved Mk.IV variant)
 • ASCOD 2 by General Dynamics (ASCOD stands for Austrian Spanish Cooperation Development)

Other contestants were considered as well, such as the German Puma, but were discarded in the process for various reasons. From what’s been published about the results so far, all three options have met the initial testing goals but, as usual with these kinds of contests, the actual performance isn’t really the most important thing – lobbying is, as well as logistics, deadlines and offsets. In this sense, the Lynx seems like the best choice, but is hamstrung by a major production bottleneck. The German assembly lines are busy (and will be for years to come) with the Hungarian contract (Hungary is basically re-arming its entire military with cutting edge German tech). Nevertheless, it’s modern and relatively well-tested.

ASCOD, on the other hand, has some strong domestic support and a history of successful service behind it (the Spanish Pizarro and Austrian Ulan IFVs are modified ASCODs), but the recently unveiled Ajax problems (Ajax is a modified ASCOD platform) have undermined its position considerably. And, last but not least, the CV90 Mk.IV is generally regarded as the underdog of the contest because of the platform’s general age. Nothing could be further from the truth though – the newest CV90 variant has almost nothing to do with the oldest service CV90s and the hull was completely overhauled.

The truth is, there is no clear “best” option for the Czech military. From the technical point of view, the CV90 might represent the best choice over the potentially problematic ASCOD platform or the untested Lynx, but in reality, all three vehicles meet the requirements of the Czech military. A single prototype of each was delivered to the Libavá proving grounds in April 2021 for thorough testing, which is at the time of the writing of this article still in progress.

One thing is for certain though – delays are expected. The country took a massive financial hit in connection with the pandemic and large arms purchases are hardly the most popular topic within the society right now. The Czech Ministry of Defense has already announced that no decision would be made before the next major round of elections, which takes place in October, 2021, which means we’ll have to wait for the actual results for a while longer.

The skin in question belongs to the CV90 vehicle that is participating in the trials. It consists of a cool hand-crafted camouflage and a large crest of a Czech lion with two tails on each side of the vehicle. We tried to re-create the skin appearance as closely as we could have – not just to show our support to the CV90 platform, but to allow you to appreciate BAE’s beautiful camouflage on the battlefields of Armored Warfare.

The skin will become obtainable in the future – before the end of the Northern Wind Battle Path, that is. If you haven’t started your Battle Path progress already, you still have plenty of time to get your hands on the CV90 Mk.IV as well as other epic rewards the Battle Path offers.

We hope that you’ll enjoy the skin as well as the rest of the Battle Path and, as always:

See you on the battlefield!
