[p][/p][p][/p][p]We’re taking a closer look at Loading Zones – why they exist, how they work and what’s coming next.[/p][p][/p][p]"We want to address what players usually describe as lag, frame drops, or short stutters — in other words, the loading zones. This issue keeps coming up in comments and private messages, so it deserves a clear explanation.[/p][p][/p][p]Many of you with powerful PCs see this system as outdated, and you’re right to expect more in 2025. The reality is that the map was built in 2017 around Loading Zones, and removing them today means rebuilding its entire structure.[/p][p][/p][p]Over the last two months, we tested a solution that removes Loading Zones completely. It works – but it requires loading most of the map into RAM at startup.[/p][p][/p][p]During tests, machines with 8 GB RAM were shutting down the game when any additional software was running. Implementing this change now would force us to raise the minimum requirements and lock out a part of our community.[/p][p][/p][p]And that includes players who have been with us since the very beginning – people who supported the project when it was in the state of kickstarter and helped turn it into what Gold Mining Simulator is today. We’re not going to make a decision that leaves them outside the game, especially with GMS2 on the horizon, which will naturally be more demanding.[/p][p][/p][p]We will return to this system in 2026, when we can redesign it properly, without excluding the players who helped build this brand from day one.[/p][p][/p][p]Thank you for your patience and for keeping this topic alive."[/p][p]GMS Developers[/p][p][/p][p]If you have questions after reading it, we’ll be answering them later today during the DLC stream.
