New default release 4.163 with Unity3D updates new curve and barrel controls and some other stuff

Hi all

So finally I am releasing the latest beta as the default. Find below a list of the main updates and features.

- Made VR default on if you have a headset plugged in.

- Removed the directory list limit.

- Added Hue to the adjustment menu.

- Added a new adjustment menu to Barrel giving more options including height degrees and squash.

- Added new options to allow barrel 100 to 360.

- Updated Unity3D 2017.1.1f1.

- Locks added to sliders in the settings menu.

- New Curved system added and Curved cinema removed.

I've done extensive testing and fixed many bugs, some of which were present in the last default release and some of which I added added with the new features. I hope that I've removed all the bugs but with development it's very possible that I've added or still haven't discovered some of them. If you find any issues please let me know either on this Steam forum on email me through my website www.whirligig.xyz.

Hopefully you don't run into any issue and continue to enjoy using Whirligig. If there are any features you'd like to see in future updates let me know.

Oculus Store and Viveport users

So if you are using the Viveport or Oculus Store versions they will be updated very soon. I do updates on the Steam Store first because of the easy beta system and feedback system. This allows me to release a default update with the ability of reverting easily if there is a major bug that I'm not aware without too much disruption. After about three days knowing that there isn't any big issues that I need to fix I will be updating the Oculus and Viveport versions. So if there aren't problems except an update within a week.

Edit: If there are no issues with bugs or anything like that then the updates for Viveport and Oculus Store are Tuesday the 24th of October (not including review times. I think Oculus is instant but Viveport takes a couple of days). I'm going away over the weekend and would like to make sure I'm at my computer for at least a few days after I update in case there are specific platform issues.

New edit: I've decided to update on the the 27th (fully confirmed). There haven't been any major bug reports and I don't see a problem in rolling out this update to other platforms. I was going to release on the 24th but my work load means that if there are any problems I won't be able to address them quickly. The 27th is the best day for me and therefor I hope that it will be the best day for you too. I'll be posting on Reddit once the release goes live.

Note on replying to this message

In discussion you get a notification if someone has replied to a post but if you post at the bottom of a news feed then you don't get that notification so it can be easily to miss a reply. I check these news post regularly (mostly). If you do post here with an issue or suggestion please check manually to see if I've replied to your comment. I don't want people to think I'm ignoring them :)

And Finally

I hope you enjoy this update and continue to use Whirligig. If you like these updates and want to express your overwhelming satisfaction for Whirligig then a nice review doesn't go amiss. If there is something that is missing and you want to see let me know.

Now go and enjoy Whirligig and your media :)

Happy Watching.

Phil (Whirligig)
