Devblog #5 — Match Day

[p]Hello Legends!
This devblog covers everything: from the Gameday Focus to the post-match rating.
Every week in Clutch Legend there's one match. But before the first round is played, you make a decision that most career simulators skip entirely, and it happens before the veto even starts. [/p]

Gameday Focus
[p]Before the veto screen opens, the game asks you one question: how do you want to prepare for this match?[/p][p]Four options. Each gives you something. Each costs you something.
[/p][p][/p][p]Drill Map — +3 temporary Map Knowledge on all active seasonal maps. Cost: coaches skip their weekly gain, and you take +2 mental stress. You're sharpening your map reads at the expense of long-term growth and mental freshness.[/p][p]Team Building — +10 temporary chemistry bonus going into the match. Cost: -3 form. You spend energy on the team instead of yourself.[/p][p]Recovery — +4 form, -4 mental stress. Cost: coaches skip their weekly gain. You go into the match fresher, but sacrifice progression.[/p][p]Film Study — +5% Performance Rating bonus for the match. Cost: -2 form, +2 stress. You study the opponent harder, perform better on paper, but it takes a toll.[/p][p]The buffs are temporary — they last for that match only and disappear afterward. The costs are immediate. Every week you choose what matters more right now.[/p]

The Veto
[p]Before every official match, you and your opponent fight over the maps before a single round is played.
In league play, three seasonal maps are available — you alternate bans, one map remains. At the World Championship the format expands to a full BO3: seven maps, four alternating bans, two picks and a decider. [/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]During the veto you see your Map Knowledge on every map compared to your opponent's in real time, a dual bar showing where you have the edge and where you're exposed. The AI bans systematically: it protects its weaknesses and picks its strengths.
The veto isn't an animation. It's a strategic decision that can already decide the match before it starts.[/p]

Simulate, Live and Knife round.
[p]Before each match you choose how to experience it.[/p][p]Simulate calculates the result instantly, based on both teams' real stats, the map, the side, chemistry, and any rivals present in the lineup. No waiting. Move on.
[/p][p][/p][p]Live follows every round in real time.
Kills, headshots, bomb plants, round-by-round commentary with varied phrasing. Your nick is highlighted in every action. You can pause at any time.[/p][p]Before the first round, both teams play a knife round to decide sides. The winner isn't random. It's calculated from your team's average Map Knowledge on that specific map, average Movement, and squad chemistry. A better-prepared team wins the knife more often.
The side matters.

[/p][p]When the match ends, the game calculates your Performance Rating, a number based on kills per round, deaths per round, and survival rate. The full scoreboard shows K/D and rating for every player on both teams, sorted by performance. Winning matters. How you played matters too.
The final result is the same either way. The win probability doesn't change based on which mode you pick. What changes is how present you want to be in that moment.[/p]

How a Round Works
[p]Every round has a base win probability calculated from both teams' effective strength, the map, the side, and whether rivals are in the lineup. A small random variation is applied each round to prevent mechanical results. A stronger team can still drop rounds, but can't lose a match systematically if the gap is real.[/p][p]Kills are weighted by role: Entry Fraggers are more likely to get first blood, AWPers carry more impact per duel, Lurkers operate from unexpected angles. [/p]

Press Conference
[p]In certain conditions (exceptional performance, key moments in the season, fame milestones) a post-match press conference activates. The answers you give affect fame, stress, and team chemistry. It's not decorative.
