Hotfix #1

Hello fellow Dollcitizens,

First, a huge thanks for the detailed feedback after our last update, it has been a great help. Here is a minor update resolving some issues you may have encountered.

Data03:

- Fixed teleport issues.

Data04:

- The « rollercoaster » cinematic didn’t start properly. It’s working now.

Data06:

- Fixed teleport not activating near AR Chip #2.

Data10

- Trackpad locomotion now works after opening the last door.
- Fixed a display bug where you couldn’t see properly through the window in the end of the level.
- Some assets & LOD issues were corrected (textures still displayed as lo-res even when the player is getting close).

We are still working on some issues but we need a bit more time:

- Data04 level optimization for people with more modest PCs.
- Acoustic & visual redesign of the turrets in order to fit better with rest of the universe.
- Further gameplay improvements and optimizations (rotation, teleport…).
- Correct controllers display position for Valve Index users.
- Finalizing advanced tutorial.

For the final release:

- Better and more intuitive use of AR Vision to display hidden messages & intel.
- More advanced remote control of other bots using your integrated hacking device.
- More AR Chips, complete story integration and new gameplay mechanics.
- Integration of the Bonus Room.
- Integration of the Museum.
- New levels to guide you to the end of the story.
- Finalizing gamepad/seated mode (for old school gamers / people who discovered the game during the DK2 era).
- Cyber drugs which will affect your vision. And your health… Winners can use drugs, but the right ones in a responsible way^^
- More SFX & music, overall sound mixing & optimization.
- Soundtrack & art book release.

Here are our ambitions with this project. We want you to have a psychedelic trip in an original cyberpunk universe, unlike anything you have seen or heard. You will have all the keys to understand the plot and uncover the mysteries of Doll City, and make this story yours.

Doll City isn’t and won’t be a FPS, even if you can encounter a few opponents on your way, they are not here to artificially raise the difficulty of the game. Many other things can kill you in this dreaded megalopolis…

Like in any exploration / adventure game, you will have to unblock paths, solve puzzles and finally discover what R’aid is looking for inside Project M’s data maze.

We want to offer you something enjoyable, beautiful and most importantly bring you a different experience than anything you experienced in VR so far.

Summer major update is finally here!

Hello fellow Dollcitizens!

It took us a fair amount of time, but the wait is finally over! Doll City’s major update is here, after months of hard work. Eight new room scale levels have been included, giving you a better picture of what the final version will be like. Seated / gamepad version will be unveiled for the final release of the game.

The worldwide sanitary situation has affected our work more than expected, as we couldn’t use large exhibitions anymore to make a great number of people beta test our new features. Working from home isn’t always easy, too^^.

Every level haven’t been optimized yet, which will be done for the final release. Older levels will also be upgraded on a regular basis, with more frequent updates as we are getting closer to the final version of the game (which should happen between late 2020 / early 2021).

Here is what’s new:

- Valve index controllers are now supported.
- A useful hook for grabbing from a distance (you might have gone older and developed some form of arthritis since the first release of the game: we do care about our older supporters).
- 8 new levels so you can play the real beginning of the story.
- New SFX, musics and ambiances.
- New gameplay elements and optimizations.
- Scenario is progressively implemented, giving you a fair hint of what’s really going on in Doll City.
- New highly immersive roller coasters synchronized to sweet musical themes.
- Simple puzzles are gradually making their appearance.
- New basic foes, to make sure you make good use of your brand new blaster gun.
- Bugs corrections and a few surprises along the path…

TODO:

- Further pimping of older levels and zones.
- New main story and backstory elements.
- Huge ingame sound mix and rebalance and new SFX and musical themes.
- More surprises and levels…

Thanks again for your patience and support, do not hesitate to give us feedback on your experience so far, and if you find any bug we missed, please do tell us, we will correct those asap as we plan to make more regular upgrades until the final version.

Huge update coming soon!

Hello fellow dollcitizens!

While more than half the planet is on quarantine, life goes on in Doll City!

First, we hope that you and your loved ones are okay. It's a hard time for everyone and being stuck home can be difficult for many of us. We try to take advantage of the situation and work double shift to bring you a great cyberpunk (some would say acidpunk^^) VR experience.



Like we said in the previous post, many things changed in Doll City: Prologue and a huge update is on its way:

- improved gameplay mechanics
- tons of new interactions
- new user-friendly tutorial
- new levels
- optimized, more beautiful and way bigger existing levels for a brand new experience
- new musics and full sound design integration for the first levels
- story mode progression
- breathtaking sceneries and ambiances
- visit the unfamous Raven Hotel and free roam through huge parts of the city
- finally meet the dreaded M0TH3R
- secrets waiting to be unveiled
- and many more wonders!

The wait is well worth it, be sure of this!



To thank you for your patience, we also posted 3 EPs on Soundcloud. This is only a fragment of the vibrant soundtrack made by Aerosteak, covering different musical styles. Final OST will be more than 30 tracks long (excluding the most dronish and ambient tracks which will also be included as a bonus) for a hefty 2h30 length so far! You may have already heard some of these tunes ingame, but there are some songs you never heard before. Listening to them ingame alongside breathtaking new visuals will be a mindblowing experience, trust us!
