Major Updates
[p][/p][p][/p]
New Mastermind: Miner
• [p]Your workers cost 5 gold less[/p]
  • [p]Start with -15 gold[/p]
[p]Miner encourages aggressive worker pushes and playing undervalue / on the edge.[/p][p][/p]
New Secret Card: Giga Chad Worker
[p][/p][p][/p]
New Refraction: Infernal Spectral Scallywag
[p][/p][p][/p]
New Feature: Hyperlinks in Taglines
[p][/p][p]You can now hyperlink Twitch and YouTube links in your tagline.[/p][p]Please no rickrolling ;)[/p][p][/p]
Improved Feature: Estimated Mythium
[p][/p][p]Estimated mythium during the battle phase now shows what your mythium is expected to be at the end of the next build phase.[/p][p]This is much more useful information than what it previously displayed (current mythium).[/p][p][/p]
Game Balance
[p]Read more about our design philosophy on game balance, and use Drachbot to see mastermind, unit, and spell win rates and pick rates![/p][p][/p]
Masterminds
[p]We believe in incremental changes. Masterminds are largely substitutes for each other, which means if one mastermind is slightly better than another, it takes the lion's share of the pick rate.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]It's now harder to deduce an opposing player's mastermind from power score, which allows for more mind games, especially in the early game.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Hybrid [/p]
  • [p]All fighters can now be sold for 90% on the first wave they are built[/p]
  • [p]Tier 1 cost: 18 → 19[/p]
  • [p]Tier 2 cost: 45 → 46[/p]
  • [p]Tier 3 cost: 85 → 86[/p]
  • [p]Tier 4 cost: 130 → 131[/p]
[p]The 90% sell helps for fighters that are very positioning-dependent.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Scrapper [/p][p]Scrap: Sell percentage: 80% → 85%[/p][p]Low pick rate and win rate.[/p][p] [/p]
Legion Spells
[p]
[/p][p]Executioner [/p][p]Execution threshold: 12% (6% for ranged) → 13% (6.5% for ranged)[/p][p]Slightly low pick rate and win rate.[/p][p][/p][p][/p]
King
• [p]Giant Slayer: Max health damage: 1.8% → 2%[/p]
  • [p]Lightning Hammer: Max health damage: 1.8% → 2% [/p]
  • [p]Upgrade Attack: 12% → 10%[/p]
  • [p]Upgrade Spell: 6% → 5%[/p]
[p]Nerfing king upgrades, as they promote passive gameplay and are currently too strong.[/p][p] [/p]
Fighters
[p][/p][p][/p][p]Goblin Copter / Whirlybird [/p][p]Attack speed decreased by 1.6%[/p][p]Whirlybird is one of the strongest openings in the game.[/p][p]
[/p][p]Seraphin [/p][p]Damage increased by 1.9%[/p][p]Low win rate and overshadowed by Devilfish.[/p][p]
[/p][p]Sakura [/p]
  • [p]Damage decreased by 5%[/p]
  • [p]Attack speed increased by 7.7%[/p]
  • [p]Superbloom[/p]
    • [p]Health: 80 (240 on waves 11+) → 70 - 270 based on wave number[/p]
    • [p]Damage gained per stack: 6 (18 on waves 11+) → 5% - 19% attack speed[/p]
[p]This change makes Sakura viable at all stages in the game, rather than only being viable on waves 1 and 11+.[/p][p][/p][p]Net effects:[/p]
  • [p]Significantly stronger when built in the early game, not as an opening (think wave 5)[/p]
  • [p]Significantly stronger with Pulverizer[/p]
  • [p]Slightly stronger as an opening[/p]
  • [p]Weaker when built in the mid game[/p]
  • [p]Weaker against wave 4[/p]
  • [p]Static damage thresholds make Sakura easier to learn and reduce extreme rewards/consequences for living/dying (e.g. dying once meant you missed the damage threshold to two-shot wave 4)[/p]
[p]
[/p][p]Harpy / Sky Queen [/p][p]Attack speed increased by 1.4%[/p][p]Slightly low pick rate and win rate.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Slime Siren [/p][p]Attack speed decreased by 3.4%[/p][p]Slightly high pick rate and high win rate. Shifting her identity to be more for tanking and delay - if you get her to max mana![/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Butcher / Head Chef [/p][p]Damage increased by 4% [/p][p]Slightly low pick rate and low win rate.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]APS / MPS [/p][p]Attack speed increased by 2.6%[/p][p]Slightly low pick rate and win rate.[/p][p]
[/p][p]Warp Wing / Void Manta [/p][p]Damage increased by 2%[/p][p]Low pick rate and slightly low win rate.[/p][p][/p][p] [/p][p]Crab Warlock / Crabomancer [/p]
  • [p]Summoner damage increased by 5.6%[/p]
  • [p]Summon health decreased by 3.3%[/p]
  • [p]Summon damage decreased by 3.8%[/p]
[p]Last patch helped by nerfing Crab Warlock in low MMR games and providing a stronger counter (Pack Leader). However, Crab Warlock is still weak in high MMR and slightly strong in low MMR. To bridge that gap, we’re shifting power from the summon to the summoner.[/p][p]
Additionally, here are tips to beat Crab Warlock:[/p]
  • [p]Send Pack Leader and other DPS mercs: Brute, Imps, Ogre, Witch, or Centaur, depending on the rest of their frontline.[/p]
  • [p]Generally avoid tank mercenaries, Hermit, Safety Mole, Four Eyes, or Needler[/p]
  • [p]Send on impact and magic waves, notably waves 10, 13, 14, 16, and 20.[/p]
  • [p]When in doubt, save mythium for one wave longer. It’s important to overwhelm them with a big send and not let the Crab Warlocks hit critical mass.[/p]
[p]
[/p][p]Lioness [/p]
  • [p]Health decreased by 1.3%[/p]
  • [p]Damage decreased by 2%[/p]
  • [p]Entourage: 9% damage and damage reduction → 10% attack speed, 7% damage reduction, and 70 health[/p]
[p]Nerfing synergy with health gain to address a major pain point in Classic, and making Entourage generally more rewarding.[/p][p]
[/p][p]Ocean Templar [/p]
  • [p]Health and damage increased by 5%[/p]
  • [p]Resonance: Regeneration: 2.75% → 3%[/p]
  • [p]Resonance: Magic damage reduction removed[/p]
[p]The fun part about Templar has always been the regen, so we’re solidifying that as its identity.[/p][p]
[/p][p]Priestess of the Abyss [/p][p]Invigorate: Heal: 10 + 3% max health → 25 + 1.5% max health[/p][p]
[/p][p]Azeria [/p][p]Invigorate: Heal: 20 + 3.5% max health → 70 + 2% max health[/p][p]Nerfing synergy with health gain to address a major pain point in Classic; otherwise, unchanged.[/p][p]
[/p][p]Hades [/p][p]Mana regeneration decreased by 9% (mana gained from Necromancy unchanged)[/p][p]Slightly high pick rate and high win rate.[/p][p]
[/p][p]Crawling Catapult / Wandering Trebuchet [/p][p]Damage decreased by 2.5%[/p][p]High win rate.[/p][p][/p]
Mercenaries
[p]
[/p][p]Honey Bear [/p][p]Damage increased by 2.7%[/p][p]Overshadowed by Safety Mole and Hermit.[/p][p][/p]
Classic 4v4
[p]
[/p][p]Masterminds / Legions [/p][p]Reverted Classic-only balance changes to Castle, Cartel, Lock In, and Legions[/p][p]
[/p][p]Dual Building [/p][p]AOE damage reduction: 45% → 40%[/p][p][/p][p][/p]
Balance Watchlist
[p]The dev team is constantly monitoring game balance, between looking at data and listening to community feedback. If anything is being more closely monitored than usual, it will be listed in this Balance Watchlist section. For this patch, the following are on the watchlist:[/p]
  • [p]Radiant Halo, waves 16-20[/p][p][/p]
Improvements
• [p]In the loading screen, if you have Classic Ranks enabled in settings, you now see your Classic Matchmaking Rank, which uses a blend of your Classic MMR and Ranked MMR. This is purely a visual change to reduce confusion around matchmaking in Classic.[/p]
  • [p]PvE now shows up a bit more often as a rotating game mode. Tower Defense and Giga Mercs now show up a bit less often.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed cases where estimated gold was not accurate[/p]
  • [p]Fixed Recommended Value in PvE on waves 21+[/p]
  • [p]If you reroll a quest, you will no longer reroll into the same quest anymore[/p]
  • [p]Takeover bots no longer full send mercs when sending income. They will now upgrade the king or save the rest of their mythium[/p]
  • [p]Fixed gold bounties with enemies summoned after a leak (Blob and Froggo)[/p]
  • [p]Fixed a bug where Spectral Scallywag with GA didn't preserve stacks when it revived[/p]
