Gatling Gun & Vulcan Cannon

Introducing the first 2 new units since the game's launch! Gatling Gun and Vulcan Cannon do not belong to a legion. They are playable in any game mode with Mastermind, Chaos, and Hybrid builders. We're taking this approach for Gatling Gun, Vulcan Cannon, and likely for future units because:
 • It allows us to release new units faster and with fewer limitations
 • The vast majority of players use Mastermind, Chaos, and Hybrid
 • 8 legions are enough options for new players who are learning the game

Gatling Gun
Gold cost: 180
Health: 900
Damage: 31
Attack speed: 2.0
Range: 800
Attack type: Pierce
Defense Type: Fortified

Full Throttle
Cannot move. Attacks up to 100% faster the closer the target is.

Vulcan Cannon
Upgrade cost: 340
Health: 2570
Damage: 80
Attack speed: 2.0
Range: 800
Attack type: Pierce
Defense Type: Fortified

Bullet Rain
Cannot move. Attacks up to 130% faster the closer the target is.

Gatling Gun and Vulcan Cannon are high skill cap units that rely on good positioning. Build them close enough to the wave to maximize their DPS output, but not so close that they get targeted too early! Because they cannot move, you often want them to build above your main army, but make sure to protect them on ranged waves.

Imperial Dino & Underworld Green Devil

First new skins since the game's launch!

Secret Cards
Increased drop rates for the following secret cards:
 • Snail With A Dream (+33%)
 • C H O N K Y Nekomata (+50%)
 • Sunny Side Eggsack (+88%)
 • Fiesta (+250%)
 • Et tu, Brute? (+250%)
 • Death by Natural Causes (+300%)
 • Hermit Has No Friends (+300%)

Major Improvements
 • New sound effects for pinging “expecting a send” and “thinking about sending on” via pinging the top wave bar
 • Sell, Sacrifice, and Delicacy tooltips now show the total gold you will have

 • Mythium tooltip now shows estimated mythium at the end of the build phase, based on your current mythium, workers, and time until next wave

 • Skin names are now shown when selecting a unit, colored by rarity

Minor Improvements
 • Classic: Now shows W/L in loading screen, instead of just wins
 • MVP: Improved formula
 • Tooltips: Role text is now displayed when holding CTRL to view unit stats
 • Tooltips: Unit damage tooltip now shows attack speed increase
 • Postgame: Clicking a build to copy it to your clipboard now saves the mythium received that wave
 • Custom Games: Invite Friend menu now is sorted alphabetically, so that names don’t jump around
 • HUD: Sacrifice should now always come before active abilities, which means it will have the “R” hotkey instead of “T.” No more accidentally sacrificed kitties!
 • HUD: Sacrifice ability will no longer be shown if a unit can already be sold for 100%
 • Audio: Fixed a bug where fast attacking units didn’t play their attack sounds as often as they were supposed to
 • Game Coach: Tweaked “Not enough DPS/Tanks” thresholds

Major Fixes
 • FairPlay: Fixed a cosmetic bug where suspensions appeared to still be active even after they had expired
 • Legion Spells: Fixed a bug where full-selling a unit that had Hero, Vampire, Magician, Villain, Titan, Guardian Angel, Protector, Sorcrerer, or Pulverizer applied to it didn’t refund the spell
 • Fixed a bug where the West team could not thumbs-up "Good Game" opponent players

Minor Fixes
 • Lifebars: Fixed a cosmetic bug where a king’s lifebar would appear to be non-empty when it already died
 • Profiles: Fixed a bug where in some cases, clicking a player’s name → View Profile would break the back button
 • Campaign: Fixed a few bugs with restart not resetting some things properly
 • Fixed a bug where some units’ Pawn Shop tooltip displayed an incorrect sell amount (off by 1 gold)
 • Fixed Unchained Rage and Rogue Wave tooltips
 • Improved the clarity of Creditor tooltip
 • Audio: Fixed a bug where a really loud click sound played when selecting multiple units
 • MVP Tooltip: Fixed a bug where “Most Leaks Caused” was incorrectly displayed or not displayed
 • Pings: Fixed a bug where pinging a player’s power score at the start of a match would sometimes display a value from a previous game
 • Rare Bug: Fixed a rare case where a player was unable to train 2x workers after wave 15
 • Profiles: Fixed a bug with loading older profiles getting stuck trying to load non-existent match history
 • Sandbox: Fixed a bug where choosing Mastermind builder multiple times didn’t allow you to re-choose your playstyle
 • Queued Mercenaries: Fixed a bug where some queued mercenaries sometimes weren’t hired in time

Game Balance

Balance Philosophy
We balance Legion TD 2 by looking at:
 • Data. This includes but is not limited to win rates, pick rates, usage rates, opening win rates, opening usage rates, end wave distribution, and average game time.
 • Player feedback, including balance discussion and tier lists.
 • Playing the game ourselves and considering what changes will make the most fun.

Usually when a unit receives balance changes it's because that unit is strong (or weak) enough that it's crowding out (or being crowded out by) other units. Balancing that unit increases variety and player choice/expression, and makes the game more fun.

1v1
Leaks now move faster when all players finish their lane battles (same as 4v4).

King
- Health increased by 5% on wave 20
Legion Spells
Sacrifice
- Gold: 90 → 85

Sacrifice is good every game, and one of the strongest legion spells when you plan around it.

Sorcerer
- Ability damage bonus: 52.5% → 55%

Sorcerer is both niche (with one of the lowest pick rates) and has the lowest game state-adjusted win rate of any legion spell.
Fighters
Pack Rat
- Treasure Hunt: Mythium gained: 10 → 11

Making Treasure Hunting more rewarding and buffing what's unique about Pack Rat.

Chained Fist & Oathbreaker
Unchained Rage: When activated, now resets the attack cooldown for more consistent behavior

Angler
- Junior fisherman: Mana gain: 1.5 → 1.75

The Angler line is underperforming. Kingpin is strong, but it’s just not worth the investment. This buff encourages players to add an Angler to their opening, without necessarily fully committing to a Kingpin-centric build.

Aqua Spirit
- Attack speed: 0.781 → 0.794

Fire Elemental
- Attack speed: 0.806 → 0.82

Elite Archer / Trinity Archer
- Attack speed: 1.02 → 1.04

Disciple
- Health: 1200 → 1150

Starcaller
- Health: 2960 → 2850

Viable as an opening, strong early and late game, and enables multiple synergies. Disciple and Starcaller are too strong.

Priestess of the Abyss
- Attack speed: 0.98 → 1

Azeria
- Health: 3250 >> 3300
- Attack speed: 0.98 → 1

Bringing back a fun, high-skill cap opening and interesting strategies like Grarl → Azeria on waves 7-9.

Holy Avenger
- Health: 2430 → 2600
- Aegis: Damage reduction: 4% → 2%
- Buffed synergy with mana gain by 14% to compensate for weaker ability

Sovereign
- Health: 6230 → 6660
- Final Judgment: Damage reduction: 4% → 2%
- Buffed synergy with mana gain by 11% to compensate for weaker ability

Nerfing their synergy with lifesteal without significantly affecting their power in comps without lifesteal.

Great Boar
- Stampede: Attack speed reduction: 6% → 4%

Red Eyes
- Thunderous Charge: Attack speed reduction: 15% → 10%

Great Boar and Red Eyes are too strong in the late game.
Mercenaries
Ghost Knight
- Health: 3900 → 4000

Ghost Knight remains one of the least used mercenaries in the game.
Waves
(20) Maccabeus
- Damage: 190 → 200

Too many counters neutralize Maccabeus.

Friendly reminder that the season ends on January 6th. Best of luck in the final weeks of the season. Remember you cannot drop ranked rewards by playing. Rewards are based on your peak rank this season.

Sincerely,
Lisk, Jules, Curing, and Dani
