Meadow Live Update November 1 2023
Meadow Classic
For anyone who wants to play Meadow as it has been before this update, and any future update we apply, we've created a separate branch of the game that we call Meadow Classic. You can view it as Meadow frozen in time. Players on Classic will inhabit the same space as players on the regular branch, but won't get the benefit of new updates and won't see new skins or be able to engage with any new features. It's for those of you who want Meadow to stay exactly the same.

How to join Meadow Classic:
 • Right-click the game in your Steam library
 • Go to Properties
 • Go to Betas
 • Choose "meadow_classic"
New features
• Initial support of HTTPS servers to avoid antiviruses blocking connections. The initial test server for this solution is called “Europe Beta”.
 • Project is now updated to the newer version of Unity
 • Sense mode now highlights flowers and puzzle pieces
 • Analytics are now added to improve the current and future experience for the players
 • The default setting of the camera for all new players will be the camera following the player; the existing players can pick this setting for camera behavior in the settings
 • The settings now include the option to set culling to “eyesight” mode, that is supposed to reflect differences between the capabilities of different animals in the real world
 • The eagle now has a smaller collider to ease the navigation while flying through the forests
 • Remote config has been implemented to the project; for more information please check out this video
 • News pop-up is now connected with the remote config tool and will be displaying news after each update
 • New lobby screen
Fixes
• News popup: if there's no news, the game no longer hangs/crashes at boot
 • The server ping reports are no longer unreliable, and do not falsely report server status
 • Reworked network code in an attempt to make connections more reliable.
 • Changes in network infrastructure
 • The Den now displays the correct amount of essence on startup
 • Spawning of collectables in the Jungle is working as intended - the abundance now becomes the new Jungle reality. Fruit and flowers enjoyers - rejoice!
Known issues
• Some meshes in the tropical region being distorted on some GPUs
 • Funghi and crystals are not detected in the sense mode
 • Some of the cloud models being rotated vertically
 • Some people experience issues with connection and for some it still takes a few attempts
 • Mac not supported

7th Anniversary Skin Packs Trailer
Hello!
We're happy to be back working on Meadow after a hiatus, and just like we outlined in a recent update, we have exciting plans for new features, quality of life improvements and beautiful cosmetics - both free and paid. Today we'd like to share some information on the latter.

These are the 7th anniversary skin packs.

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
Note: there's an error in the trailer, as the dates for the Lemming Pack and the Streaked Tenrec & Leopard Cub Pack have been switched. Sorry for the confusion!

As you might have guessed watching the video, each skin pack comes with two skins and will cost 2,99 euros each. We have a series of six packs planned to be released weekly starting from November 2, mounting up to twelve unique skins.

These are:

Also, if you're reading this on the day it's posted (October 26th), the team is getting ready to have a Play With the Devs session with you all. It will happen between 3pm and 4pm central European time on the European server, Grove 5. We'll start att the Center Tree, and hope to see you there!

Thank you for your continued support! We'll have more to share about the future of Meadow in the near future.

Best wishes,
Oliver & the team at Might and Delight

Our First Skin Pack is Coming
Hello Meadowers
Today we'd like to officially reveal that we have a new series of paid skin packs coming to Meadow to be released weekly from the start of November until the holiday season. And we can confirm that the first of these packs include the Himalayan Rabbit skin and the Koala skin for the Bear cub.

This skin pack can be wishlisted now and will be available very soon.

A lot of changes and additions are going to be made to Meadow in the near future. We very much believe that it will make the game more engaging and fun, as well as put it in a better position to continue to grow going forward. But we also realise that some players are going to want to have Meadow stay exactly the same, and to that end we've made sure that we will keep a branch that we call Meadow Classic alive for anyone who wants things to stay the same. Any new features and new skins we put out will be unavailable on the Classic branch.

While we have your attention we will kindly remind you of our little in-game meet & greet that we have planned for the 7 year anniversary on October 26. This will happen between 3pm and 4pm Swedish time, which translates to 6am pacific time and 9am eastern. We'll meet by the center tree in Grove 5 on the European server.

That's all for today, friends! Thanks for your time and your continued support! We'll have more to share in the coming weeks, so stay tuned!

Best wishes,
Oliver & the team at Might and Delight

Meadow 7th Anniversary: Play With the Developers!
Hello Meadowers!
First off, on behalf of the entire team, I'd like to thank you for your support and outpouring of encouragement on the recent news update regarding the future of Meadow. We're very happy to be able to return to this game and even happier that so many of you are onboard for the ride.

But today we want to tell you about something else. As we're approaching the 7th anniversary of Meadow, we thought it would be fun to set up a little multiplayer session where you will get to play with the developers - both old and new team members.

Meet the Meadow team (read: the part of the team who had time to pose for a group photo).

This will happen on the 26th of October, between 3pm and 4pm CET. We will start at the Center Tree in Grove 5 on the Europe server. From there it will be an hour of wholesome fun and hide-and-seek. I look forward to meeting you in your animal avatar forms, and I know the team does too.

Save the date, and let's celebrate seven years of Meadow together!

Best wishes,
Oliver & the team at Might and Delight

Meadow Is Getting New Content and a Price Change
Hello!
It’s been a good while since we gave you an update on Meadow, and as we approach the anniversary we thought we would touch base and let you know what the future for Meadow looks like - at least in broad terms.

As many of you know we at Might and Delight have recently released Book of Travels to Early Access and rebuilt our team, and so we’ve also been able to allocate more staff and resources to the further development of Meadow.

Whilst we aren’t ready to go into detail on exactly what we're working on today, we can confirm that we do indeed have plans for new features, quality of life improvements, stability updates, downloadable content and more for Meadow. In the coming weeks we will update and reveal the specific details of these plans and what it means for Meadow and the world of Shelter in general.

The development of these new features has already started, as people may have noticed with our first beta release, but as this grows it will affect the overall production cost of Meadow, and so in the future we will raise the price of the game. This will also put us in a better position to support Meadow long term. We’re expecting this change will be applied in early November, to coincide with new features being released.

Exciting times ahead, friends! Again, you’ll hear from us again soon - so stay tuned in the meantime.

Best,
Oliver & the team at Might and Delight
