Angeldust v2.17 release notes

Here's the list of changes in Angeldust v2.17:

Bears. Beets…

You can now ride bears! Many players asked for this, mostly from Russia. It's beary exciting to ride one of these bad boys, so give it a try!

Mr. Bones' Wild Ride

Ridden creatures will now turn wild as soon as you start riding another creature, because they're pretty jealous. This also happens to mitigate the strategy of quickly neutralizing groups of enemies by quickly riding and dismounting them.

> moonwalking in 2017 lol

Since the launch of Angeldust, players have been moonwalking everywhere. Very fashionable in the 80's, but somewhat out of style in 2017. So we fixed it! You'll actually walk backwards now. Hurray for the 21st century!

Golden. Delicious.

On some platforms, there was a bug where the treasure material didn't properly flow into other materials, leading to openings in the game world geometry. This is fixed, so you won't see gaps like these anymore:

Ludo Ergo Sum

Another doozie: creatures (and other entities) in the Angeldust game world now remain live while nobody is looking. Thanks to this improved game world permanence, you'll no longer lose your mount when walking:

Call of Cutie

Speaking of losing your mount. Don't! With Angeldust v2.17 you can call your horse by flourishing. Double tap the 'F'-key, the rightmost (B)-button on your game controller or the flourish icon on your touchscreen. Once you flourish, your mount will come running towards you!

Additional changes
  • optimize creature A.I. and animations for backpedalling
  • improve visual fidelity of recorded game replays
  • fix a few misspellings

Angeldust v2.16 release notes

Here's the list of changes in Angeldust v2.16:

Giddy-up!

The headline feature of this update is horse riding! There are rumors of other creatures being rideable too.

Saddle up!

To ride horses (and potentially other creatures), you'll need the brand new saddle item from the shop. It's expensive, but it's the best way to show off your riches and status to fellow players.

Mount up!

You'll quickly notice that the saddle doesn't automatically get assigned to the item hotbar at the bottom of the screen. That's because it's bound to shortcut keys on all platforms, making it easy to mount and dismount:
  • The E-key on a keyboard
  • The top action button (Y) on a game controller
  • The 'saddle' button on a touch screen

Once you've mounted your creature, you can move around a bit quicker than on foot. You'll also heal gradually. But most of all, you will look cooler than ever before. Here's a scout horsing around on a race track built by Geldis:

Never gonna give you up!

Your mount will never run around and desert you. It's tied to your hero no matter what happens. Nobody can steal it or run away with it. You'll spawn with your most recent creature once you sign in to the game. Note that each of your four heroes has a distinct mount.

Segue into:

Here's an oft-requested feature. Artificial materials will no longer fade into natural materials. This allows you to create hard visual edges between your buildings and the game world. Build nicer gardens, pathways and castles:

It takes a bit of time getting used to, but after a while it's hard imagining the game any other way. We hope this change brings the building aspect of Angeldust more in line with your expectations!

Additional changes
  • optimized video RAM usage for heroes, horse, moa and wyrm
  • fixed occasional sprite flicker
  • improved hoof sound effect timing
  • improved item interaction interface
  • improved texture preloading and unloading

Angeldust v2.15 release notes

Here's the list of changes in Angeldust v2.15:

Stairways (to heaven)

This update adds stair blocks with over 25 different materials. Build straight or angled stairs to add lots of detail and depth to your builds. The entire Angeldust village has changed as well:

Conveyor belts and trampolines

Angeldust's game world used to be passive, but not anymore! You can now build animated, working conveyor belts and trampolines. Construct elaborate tours through your builds and make interesting parkour runs:

Claim your stake — once more

Land claims have been halved in price, from 2.000 to just 1.000 coins (players have been refunded the difference). You can now claim up to 64 lands, enabling a massive 256 x 256 block area to build on:

Scroll bars

The Angeldust user interface has been updated to include functional scroll bars. This makes navigation of screen much easier. You can now also use the 'Home' and 'End' buttons for scrolling:

Additional changes
  • added 25+ new chair and table blocks
  • improved message user interface
  • improved networking on broken firewalls and 'internet shield' software
  • improved village rendering performance

Angeldust v2.14 release notes

Here's the list of changes in Angeldust v2.14:

Fight club

A feature that 99,9% of the community was asking for: an improved combat system to replace Angeldust's old click fiesta. Hold the left mouse button, right trigger or tap-and-hold on a touchscreen to keep attacking:

The new combat system repeats in a 3-burst pattern. You can still spam attacks like before when the going gets tough. Some players have already created a new 'short burst' clicking style. Just see what tickles your fancy.

Let's talk!

Ever found yourself unable to talk to another player because you didn't speak the same language? Introducing: quick messages! Pick a line and Angeldust translates it for all players near you. Be a polyglot:

Open the quick messages menu like you would flourish before. On a keyboard, you can use the shortcut numbers to quickly select a line. Double tap the quick messages key or button to flourish like before.

Near-field communication

The Angeldust game server will now send out notifications if a player has telecharged towards you. This makes playing together more fun since you know when people join you:

Material girl

Last – but certainly not least – is a new feature to help out new and existing players. The shovel in the hotbar will now glow and give off sparks when unlockable new materials are nearby:

Additional changes
  • Improved 'play together' matchmaking
  • Improved user interface
  • Improved game controller support

Angeldust v2.13 release notes

Here's the list of changes in Angeldust v2.13:

Furniture!

About 99,9% of the community asked for furniture ːsteamhappyː! Angeldust v2.13 brings tables and chairs that can be used in a variety of ways. Connect 'em, stack 'em, combine 'em, love 'em:

Angeldust chairs are smarter than you think. On their own, they are stools; near a table they become chairs; near a column block they morph into bar stools. Stack 'em for decorative frames and more:

There's a wide variety of tables and chairs. With over fifty new blocks, there's something for everyone. Ranging from bamboo to dark wood, you'll certainly find furniture fitting for every build:

(You) Turn me upside down

A very vocal minority asked for an 'invert Y' menu option. Here it is. No one is left behind:

Improved matchmaking

Speaking of leaving no one behind – the 'play together' (random group) feature in the telecharger now works better than ever and will always try to drop you in a group of players. If no group is around (yet), just wait a bit and others will join you. You're never alone.

Additional changes
  • Added two table and two chair blocks to 'build alone' game mode
  • Always revert cinematic mode to 'off' on startup
  • Improved game controller support
