Angeldust News

165K. Furnish your dreams.

It's been a crazy start of 2017 with four major updates to Angeldust in a single month. The Angeldust update train will keep thundering on, bringing exciting new features quicker than a certain blue hedgehog in his best days.

Turning tables

One big community request has been to add table blocks to Angeldust. Those are coming in the next update, Angeldust v2.13! A plethora of table materials will be at your disposal:

Stacked

Simply bringing table blocks to the – erm – table wasn't quite good enough for Firefly, our lead developer. And so tables can be stacked, combined and used for building a table tennis table, storage shelves and display cases (amongst other uses):

Take a seat

What good is a phone call if you can not speak table without chairs? That's why the next update will also bring a cool assortment of chairs (appearance subject to change):

There are rumors of these chairs having special, secret properties. We believe those rumors. Because we spread them.

Picture perfect

With dozens of new blocks, we hope you have fun decorating your creations once the next update lands. We're already looking forward to seeing your screenshots roll in on the community hub!

It's an exciting time to discover and play Angeldust with all of the big changes of the past weeks. Keep the suggestions rolling in and we'll do our best to accommodate them as well as we can ːsteamhappyː !

Angeldust v2.12 release notes

Here's the list of changes in Angeldust v2.12:

Hint, hint!

To get new players up to speed with the in-game controls, hints will now pop up to explain the basic controls. Previously this feature was implemented only for touchscreens, now it's there for keyboard and mouse and game controllers as well:

Improved text support

The entire game engine is rewritten to use UTF-8 text encoding throughout. Sounds technical, but it means that you can now type using the Cyrillic and Greek alphabets and use many more characters in chat messages and player names:

Привет!

An initial translation of the game and website into Russian has been added. If you are interested in helping improve the quality of the translation, hop over to the new Russian Angeldust forum:

Additional changes
  • Improved keyboard input handling for different keyboard layouts
  • Improved text rendering
  • Improved game controller support

Angeldust v2.11 release notes

Another week, another update. Here's the list of changes in Angeldust v2.11:

Light My Way

Angeldust v2.11 brings pathways with signposts and lanterns to the game world near the village so new heroes don't get lost anymore. All signs point 'inland' – into the game world:

If you have claimed land near the village, you'll probably need to remove some of the new signposts. Have fun shoveling ːsteamhappyː!

Mysterious Ways

The 'play together in a random group' feature now drops players on a pathway. Players will need to actively go against the arrows to lose their way. Let's hope this solves the issue of players only encountering birds in a forest.

Fencing Master

Panel blocks next to column blocks will now snap together:

You can use this new building mechanic to create gapless fences, windows, sunrooms, jails and so on. There's probably dozens of building ideas that have yet to be explored:

Every Claim You Stake

Claimable land is reduced in price! Just 2.000 coins per 32x32 square! Current players have been refunded the coin difference.

Additional changes
  • Tweaked creature spawning diversity
  • Balanced 'arctic wastes' area difficulty level
  • Major Android stability fixes
  • Minor text fixes

Angeldust v2.10 release notes

Angeldust v2.10 brings the following new features and improvements:

Unlockable material hints

If you are near a natural material that you haven't unlocked yet, it will start glowing yellow to remind you that you can use your shovel anywhere to unlock materials. The user interface now also tells you the material name:

Level-up announcements

On leveling up, you will now get a visual and audible announcement of your new level along with a picture of your hero. All existing bells and whistles are still in place:

Level bar and claim-to-build hints

The level bar has been polished to include vertical stripes so you can better gauge your progress. The claim-to-build hints have been improved to guide new players through the process of claiming their first land:

Improved touchscreen control layout

Thanks to player feedback, the touchscreen control layout – most relevant to Android, iPad and iPhone – has been improved drastically. The sprint and jump buttons will now stick to the screen edges for improved ergonomics:

Additional improvements
  • Tweaked inland guide appearance and usefulness
  • Updated game controller support
  • Additional user interface polishing and bug fixes
  • Prevent crashes caused by texture detail menu option being set too high
