Tropico 6 Release update Número Dos (Rev. 97490)

Fellow Tropicans!

We’ve been overwhelmed by your amazing feedback and support since the release of Tropico 6.
In fact, there were reports that even El Presidente shed a single, proud tear, proving once and for all that our beloved head of state is actually human after all. As a side note, the tear is now being analyzed in the National Research Lab of Tropico to investigate claims that it is the source of everlasting life.

Anyway, today we’re thrilled to share our first big update with you, which addresses a couple of crashes and introduces lots of bug fixes for both minor and major gameplay issues.

We know that there are many of you that are waiting for multiplayer savegames to be enabled. We are working on this as our highest priority, but it’s not quite ready yet so unfortunately this update will not include this feature. We kindly ask you for your patience and hope that you enjoy the singleplayer content in the meantime.

As for overall balancing, we have deliberately decided against making balancing changes at this point because the game is still so fresh. Of course, we are always reading your feedback and know that there are some of you that find certain aspects of the game either too easy or too difficult.
We want to make smart balancing adjustments, so we are going to continue collecting your feedback for a little longer before we commit to significant and lasting changes.

We hope you enjoy this update and thank you for your continued support!

Viva Tropico! Viva El Presidente!

Known Issues

Technical Issues:
  • We are aware that some users who have Asus Aura drivers installed experience crashes either on startup or during gameplay.
    • We are working on tracking down what is causing these crashes and to offer a solution as soon as possible.
    • In the meantime, if you are experiencing crashes, please check if you have Asus Aura drivers installed and if uninstalling them solves the issues for you.
  • Linux: Random crashes on startup can occur
Presentation Issues:
  • El Presidente can be shown walking sideways and there can be issues with election speeches, e.g. El Presidente facing in the wrong direction.
  • Customization is flawed when El Presidente uses a car. He/She and the car are invisible during customization if this happens.
  • Empty shacks can quickly appear and disappear on the map.
Gameplay Issues:
  • Raids for “Market Manipulation” in the Cyber Operations Center do not work correctly.
  • Modernizing buildings will not work properly if the action will put the player into debt.
  • RMG: Entering invalid Seeds or Share Codes can lead to flawed RMG maps.
  • The path finding and spawning of rebels during Guerilla attacks can be flawed.
Multiplayer:
  • Raids are displayed in the overview tab for clients, even if they are completed
  • Clients can see palace construction info from the host
  • 4-player matches can be not as stable or performant as 2-player or 3-player matches
