Modding Workshop - El Presidente announces Modding Edict!

El Presidente announces Modding Edict! - News for a select group of Tropicans

Dear Tropicans,

The Tropican Ministry of World Domination and Garden Plots (short: The TM of WoDoGaP) is spilling the beans for you, our Community.

The Ministry of Development and Binary Magic is working closely with the new TM of WoDoGaP and are looking for Tropicans who feel capable of assisting El Presidente in making Tropico the greatest nation there has ever been.

El Presidente has decided to approve official modding support and YOU can be one of the first to actually create an El Presidente approved Tropico 6 Mod and let your imagination run wild.

Our Tropico 6 Team is currently planning to start an exclusive workshop with the ‘Operation Garden Gnome' Modding Workshop. For this, we want to recruit a small group of Binary Magicians who have some previous experience with modding, programming or asset creation, to participate in our workshop and try the ‘Operation Garden Gnome' Tools firsthand.
Please keep in mind, that you would be working with the actual developer tools and not an editor. In this test run, you will receive access to our in-development toolkit prior to its official launch, as well as an exclusive closed section of our Discord hub with videos and direct support from our dev and our CM team.

When is all of this happening and how do I participate?

If you would like to participate, please apply via email to [email protected] with a link to 1-3 examples of your previous modding work along with your Discord tag, so we can invite you to the server and grant you access to the exclusive area for the workshop as well as the toolkit.

Applications will close on the 18th of April, so if you want to take part in this next step for Tropico 6, please make sure to drop us an email before that day.

The workshop will officially kick off on April 26th.

We know that modding is something the community really wishes for, and we see how much value it adds to a game; be that by allowing the community to express themselves creatively or feel involved in expanding the games they love.

We want to support the community with our ‘Operation Garden Gnome’ in taking the first steps with our modding tools, and to provide the opportunity to create the Tropico you want. To honor the Binary Magicians who put a lot of time and effort into creating mods for the community, we will be spotlighting your awesome mods on our channels and giving the modders special discord roles as badges of honor for their hard work.

Sincerely yours,
The Tropican Ministry of Development and Binary Magic and The Tropican Ministry of World Domination and Garden Plots

Update 20 - Hotfix #1

Update 20 – Hotfix #1

With Hotfix 1 on Steam, Microsoft Store (and other PC platforms), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, we have now fixed some issues occurring with Update 20 in Tropico 6, such as all Tropicans turning male when loading a savegame after Update 20.
We are also still working on the other reported issues.

Please stay tuned.

  • Fixed an issue, where all citizens became male after loading the game.
(Please note: Savegames which are affected by this issue cannot be restored to their original state and will start with an all-male population. However, women will be able to immigrate to Tropico again. Newly created savegames as well as older ones from before Update 20 are not affected, so please use an old savegame or start a new one.)
  • Fixed an issue, where special citizens disappeared in the Almanac and criminal roles became hidden after loading the game.
  • Added sound when selecting the Eternal Flame.
  • [Festival] Fixed the “Customer Service” edict sometimes not being applied correctly.
  • [Lobbyistico] Fixed a quest that did not accept the Eternal Flame as objective.

Happy Easter - Tropico stays egg-celent

We wish you all a wonderful Easter weekend with lots of Swiss ba- uhm, we mean, lots of easter eggs, delivered directly by El Presidente this year! (Penultimo is ‘busy’ elsewhere… )

And don’t worry, El Prez will transform back to his old fluff-free self in 3 days when he descends from the Tropican heavens and brings glory to Tropico – again!

Tropico 6 Update 20 – Tropico Arde Eternamente

Tropico 6 Update 20 – Tropico Arde Eternamente

Fellow Tropicans,

Tropico 6 Update 20 – Tropico Arde Eternamente has just been released for Steam,Xbox series X/S,
Xbox One and PlayStation 4 | 5
.

With update 20, we have added a true Tropican Easter wonder, a new, free landmark: The Eternal Flame, for the Modern Times era. In addition, we have, among other changes, made it clearer that tourists are needed to complete mission 3 of the New Frontiers DLC.

Furthermore, we have fixed an issue, where selecting celebrities no longer disables the happiness and thoughts tabs of regular tourists. We have also implemented a change which leads to bus stations shutting down if the driver is stuck in traffic for too long, so passengers can take other routes to their destinations.

For more details, please check out the full changelog below.

Viva Tropico!

[h2]Changelog Update 20[/h2]

[h3]New Features[/h3]
  • A new landmark has been added to the Modern Times era: The Eternal Flame. While providing fun for visiting Tropicans and tourists, it can also influence visiting citizens politically, grant permanent personal experience or help in foreign aid finances.

[h3]Changes[/h3]
  • If a bus driver is completely stuck in traffic and cannot reach the destination stop in a reasonable amount of time, the bus stop will be closed after 20 days so that waiting passengers can take other routes to their destination.
  • Building driveways will now update their road access correctly if a road building (like a Checkpoint) in front of them has been demolished.
  • Selecting a celebrity no longer disables the tabs for happiness and thoughts of normal tourists.
  • Fixed an issue where teamsters would only transport small amounts of manure.
  • The manure stockpile for the Agriculture Tower is now visualized.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented the Offshore Wind Turbine from being repaired after it was damaged.
  • Fixed an issue where Tropicans could walk directly through some buildings on some maps.
  • Fixed an issue where the status-icon when moving the Aircraft Carrier or Cruise Ship, was not adjusted properly to the new location.
  • Fixed an issue where continuing a heist after it was cancelled caused problems with the individual tasks that needed to be completed in the heist.
  • Fixed an issue where prisoners did not disappear from the list of detention if they were killed on the way to the prison.
  • Fixed an issue where the player was unable to progress, if the Cristo Rendentor landmark was obtained through a heist during the ‘Battle Royal’ map.
  • [Festival DLC] Fixed an issue where the mission ‘A party for the ages!’ couldn’t be completed when choosing to heist the Great Wall landmark.
  • [Lobbyistico DLC] Fixed an issue, where demolishing an El Presidente Club after a conservative has been invited within the ‘Once And Forever’ mission would corrupt the save file.
  • [New Frontiers DLC] Fixed an issue in the ‘Too Smart for Her Own Good’ mission where the construction of the required buildings next to the Research Lab was sometimes not counted towards mission progress correctly.
  • [New Frontiers DLC] Fixed the cheese produced in the ‘Harvest Cheese’ option, available upon completion of a successful moon mission, not being delivered to warehouses.
  • [New Frontiers DLC] In mission ‘Stack 'em high’ a hint was added, indicating that the capsule hotel needs to have rich tourists to complete the mission.
  • [New Frontiers DLC] In mission 3 it is now clearly stated that tourists are needed to complete the space mission task.
  • [New Frontiers DLC] Adjusted the ending sequence of mission 4 so that the Spaceport Complex is now displayed correctly in the ending cutscene.
  • [New Frontiers DLC] Fixed the Radio Broadcast of El Prez repeating itself when visiting the Spaceport Complex.
  • [New Frontiers DLC] Removed the ‘hidden’ modifications that the Mars-workmode in the Spaceport Complex gave.
  • [Multiplayer] Fixed an issue where Tropocoin value was displayed with the value zero.
  • [Localization] Implemented several text and menu fixes.
  • [Localization] The character ‘Patch’ now has the appropriate voice modifier to sound like a robot in French and Spanish.

[h3]Hotfix:[/h3]
  • Fixed an issue that led to trade routes not working as intended.
