Greetings Directors,

We've rolled out a small hotfix to correct a series of interrelated issues where DLC content would appear in the base game's sandbox mode prior to the level they were intended to unlock at.

[h2]Bug Fixes - Other[/h2]
  • Fixed an issue where Saboteurs could spawn in sandbox mode prior to their unlock in the campaign if the DLC is owned
  • Fixed an issue where Security Craftech items would be visible in the inventory in Sandbox mode prior to their unlock in the campaign if the DLC is owned
  • Fixed an issue where certain sandbox events from the DLC content would be available earlier than intended

In The Voice Beyond, you'll be encountering stomach-churning new ailments the likes of which contemporary science is simply ill-equipped. Ha ha. That was wordplay. At any rate, "contemporary" for us means 200 years into the future, so - good luck, 21st century dweller.

New Ongoing Research Projects are available in the Research Lab, providing passive bonuses for each doctor assigned to them

Adjusted spawner behaviour in Sandbox Mode
  • Patients with conditions that utilise rooms that were not available in the level's story mode will not appear
  • The player can override this behaviour by placing such rooms, this will cause patients to spawn that are relevant to those rooms
This behaviour is overridden if the player builds rooms
  • Balanced the rate of initial wave of patients spawning in train levels and elevator levels
  • Randomized the entrance that mutation patients come in from
  • Made changes to no longer allow the same event to play twice
  • Xil species desire mood values update to compensate for the fact that Xil don't actually have the tidyness/mess thoughts anymore
Challenge Mode Balance Adjustments:
  • Increased the average time between mutation events by 100%
  • Health Decay at Danger Level 3 reduced by 2.8%
  • Health Decay for Mutated Conditions reduced by 18.8%
Rebalanced Hospital Ratings:
  • Species Desires reduced by 20% on average
  • Treatment Rate requirements reduced by 10%
  • Patient Health & Treatment Quality requirements reduced by 6%
  • Finance requirements reduced by ~14.5%
  • Throughput requirements reduced by ~14.5%
  • Several rating requirements now scale throughout the campaign, peaking in later levels

Mutated Conditions - Challenge Mode DLC

Greetings, Directors!

In our Challenge Mode DLC there’s no time to relax, no cozy little save rooms, no meditative gazes into the void, and certainly no time for fiddling about - you’ll be too busy wrangling burdensome Mutated Conditions.

The common patient will visit your hospitals with one illness or another, each with their own needs. However, the true challenge will be in how quickly you adapt when these conditions abruptly mutate!



Mutated Conditions are eruptions of sudden, more dangerous variations of conditions you’re already familiar with. They’ll require research in order to properly resolve – a perfect task for any excess staff you forgot to fire. Stuff them into the Research Lab and get that ultracomputer whirring!



Patients afflicted by one of these mutations are much more likely to drop dead, and their health will deteriorate far faster than usual. Keep an eye on them and do what you can – lest the rozzers get alarmed by Medi’s “disposal” protocols and shut down the hospital.

However, if you keep on top of your research, and make sure only a necessary number of patients expire, we'll all be fine. Best of luck!
