Street Legal Racing: Redline v2.3.1 News

Build 940

[p]Build 940 is out![/p][p][/p][p]The game is noticeably more stable now, many critical issues have been resolved.[/p][p][/p][p]IMPORTANT: Start new career after this update. A lot of files have been modified, we recommend a clean install for this update (you can keep your old save folder). Some mods will be broken or cause regressions if installed (car/part mods will be fine).[/p][p][/p][p]New night race betting system[/p][p]This system attempts to predict your car's 1/4 mile ET time and compares it to the ET time of your opponent. Facing a faster opponent in a night race offers better betting opportunities, including pink slip wagers, allowing you to gamble.[/p][p][/p][p]What else has been done:[/p]
  • [p]Fully fixed the ground collision bug.[/p]
  • [p]Better framerate: enabled SSE/SSE2 CPU instructions, reduced renderer CPU overhead, vertex processing is now fully performed on the GPU.[/p]
  • [p]Much more generous resource cache size, less stuttering on HDD's.[/p]
  • [p]Added in-game options for multisample anti-aliasing (MSAA), anisotropic filtering, V-Sync, no longer needed to force these basics via graphics driver.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed a rare focus issue with fullscreen startup, which got you stuck unable to close the game or do anything else after first click.[/p]
  • [p]Resource cache is only cleared when memory usage gets too high, not every time you enter or leave garage. This yields much more consistent framerate.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed various bugs in engine performance calculations, leading to tach needle disappearing, and engine parts falling to 0% condition.[/p]
  • [p]Engine performance calculations will auto-skip redundant steps (slight speedup).[/p]
  • [p]Fixed game crash when hovering a fallen off part with mouse cursor in garage.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed erratic AI behavior in the night races.[/p]
  • [p]Patch for heavily deformed or otherwise misconfigured hinges causing game stability issues. This was the main reason why the game could crash from a big car crash.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed the worst of the memory leaks in scripts - game is now usually safe to leave minimized.[/p]
  • [p]Patch for game rarely crashing after finishing a day race.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed a game crash when leaving the game minimized with an active decal preview rendered on the car while in fullscreen mode.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed rare game crash related to message box queue (usually at day race start).[/p]
  • [p]Fixed plugging of map water leaks causing leaks in game memory instead.[/p]
  • [p]When a body part is fully destroyed, further damage to chassis now happens near the point of impact, not at part attachment point. No more weird stretched engine bays after hitting the hood very hard.[/p]
[p][/p][p]Other changes:[/p]
  • [p]Lots of important contributions from EvilMcSheep related to stability of the game.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed all known uninitialized variable issues.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed police blowing engines upon leaving traffic.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed video playback size problems (added "fit to screen" version of GfxEngine.playVideo).[/p]
  • [p]Fixed racers equipped with N2O always attempting to launch in 2nd gear, then stalling.[/p]
  • [p]Resolved issues with tire compatibility badges in the catalog.[/p]
  • [p]Racing opponents in the city are no longer using pre-saved cars.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed some wheel damage params not saving correctly.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed police cars sometimes getting bugged when joining a chase.[/p]
  • [p]Reverse lights react faster to gear changes.[/p]
  • [p]Hinge trajectory of doors / hood / trunk will now be displaced according to chassis damage.[/p]
  • [p]Rolling back some city meshes and objects for better framerate.[/p]
  • [p]Removed camera inertia in Paintbooth, it was not suitable for making paintjobs.[/p]
  • [p]Added "Restore defaults" button to the options menu.[/p]
  • [p]The SD version of the main menu background video has been converted to 720p to prevent artifacts at certain screen resolutions.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed incorrect max night race bet calculations in bet dialog.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed wrong behavior of Esc hotkey in the night race opponent selection dialog.[/p]
  • [p]The night race bet slider now always defaults to the maximum bet.[/p]
  • [p]The night race dialog now correctly displays the prize when bots are racing in spectator mode.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed poorly placed hotspots and minimap marker update problem in the quickrace setup menu.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed swaybar script by EvilMcSheep.[/p]
  • [p]Resolved issues with cursor focus in the garage and paintbooth that occurred with large view range settings.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed wrong pink slip message and wrong game behavior in ingame menu when player attempts to give up the race.[/p]
  • [p]If opponents lose their cars in pink slip races, the game will generate a replacement.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed incorrect VD vehicle name in Badge_VT.java.[/p]
  • [p]SL1 cars now have precise quarter-mile time variables which are fixing bad matchups in races.[/p]
  • [p]Memory leak issues have been reduced when loading paintjobs.[/p]
  • [p]Day racer traffic cars now have proper engine sounds.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed buggy engine sounds that occurred at low RPM.[/p]
  • [p]Patch avoiding a Radeon driver bug breaking realtime shadows on RDNA-based GPUs (RX 5000 series and newer).[/p]
  • [p]All loading screens upscaled to 2048x1024 for faster caching.[/p]
  • [p]Removed legacy vehicle descriptors from VehicleType.java (some mods may become incompatible).[/p]
  • [p]Fixed video mode detection issue in options dialog.[/p]
  • [p]Minor changes to status text in the Valo City.[/p]
  • [p]Spectator bots could incorrectly appear in night races as opponents while racing, causing bugs. This is now fixed.[/p]
  • [p]Slightly better framerate when using default video driver settings by prioritizing high-performance GPU.[/p]
  • [p]Minor changes to the welcome hint displayed upon first entering night racing.[/p]
  • [p]Added "YOU LOSE!" when player is losing a night race.[/p]
  • [p]The minimap's X position was incorrect after leaving the quickrace setup menu.[/p]
  • [p]Improved prestige string and fixed 0 bot car prestige in the night race opponent selection dialog.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed "The bet is: $-1" in the night race dialog.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed incorrect position of the drift angle gauge in drifting gamemode.[/p]
  • [p]No more obsolete wrapper steam_support.dll for accessing Steam.[/p]
  • [p]Race setup: added right-click panning and mouse scroll support (EvilMcSheep).[/p]
  • [p]Race setup: added Shift+Scroll shortcut for adjusting race bets (EvilMcSheep).[/p]
  • [p]Race setup: fixed edge rendering bug (EvilMcSheep).[/p]
  • [p]Race setup: resolved incorrect day race bet values (EvilMcSheep).[/p][p][/p]
[p]Thanks to g13ba for many hours of testing this release, he helped us a lot![/p][p][/p][p]If this new build won't run on your machine or if you experience some weird issues after launch, let us know in the comments to this announcement post.[/p][p][/p][p]Also, feel free to join our Discord server https://discord.gg/s76FZ7qWRv[/p][p]If you want to support us during the ongoing Winter Sale, try playing Street Legal 1: REVision, the 2002 predecessor to the Street Legal Racing: Redline, a brutally challenging street racing game with similar mechanics to Redline.[/p]

PROJECT NEEDS YOUR SUPPORT

There's an important thing about this game. We're a small group of people and there's no any big publisher or investor behind us, so we're working on this independently and rely exclusively on the revenues of other projects. There won't be any other Kickstarter campaign this time, so if you really like Street Legal and want this new game to live as long as possible, please, do one of these things:
  • If you have bought all our products, add Street Tuning Evolution to your wishlist when we'll release its store page on Steam. If you don't want to buy anything at all, please, add our other products to your wishlist. This action is
absolutely safe and it won't charge any money from your account

  • Purchase High Quality Cars Pack DLC or our DeepWeb game that will come out on Sep. 20th

  • If you're making music, sounds, 3D models, materials, textures or other assets and willing to help us, you can submit your content to Street Tuning Evolution

We'll make a special announcement when a Steam store page for this game will be released. Thank you for reading this long message!

Cross Racing Championship is now available on Steam!

The legendary CRC is here on Steam now!

It's a racing game that was released by Invictus after Street Legal Racing: Redline back in 2005 and it's using an improved version of Invictus Game Engine, so you can find a lot of familiar things when making mods for it.

We're glad to be an important part of this release and I'd like to say huge thanks to Adrian 'Silent' Zdanowicz for all his hard work that he has done on improving the game!

Build 936

We're sorry for being away for a very long time. Many people started to think that the game got abandoned, but that's not true!

It's a small update today, but more to come soon.

- No more "Invalid wear!" crash

- SteamCloud support

- Fixed memory leaks in ground physics, slightly better stability

- Proper names for all opponents

- Replaced some background mp3's

It also includes a workaround for the "falling through the ground" issue. If you're falling down even after this update, let us know in the comments, but pay attention to the build date on the top of your game window, it must say "Sep 17 2018". Many thanks to Adrian 'Silent' Zdanowicz for working very hard on that issue!

There's a one more thing again. Stay tuned!
