The Pirate Update has made landfall!

Features:
  • The Pirate faction with seven new units
  • A new Pirate-themed map
  • Pirate Campaign
  • 4 New secret units


Bug Fixes:
  • Custom content button will now be rendered correctly on different aspect ratios.
  • Units can no longer accidentally be placed inside of the castle in medieval 2.
  • Placement cursor will now switch color when team colors are switched.
  • Fixed the issue of the start button is visible in Freecam if entering Free Cam before all units had been placed.
  • The unit placement cursor will now be hidden during Free cam and battle.
  • Got rid of a potential crash that happened between level changes on rare occasions.
  • Fixed bug where some units such as crows and snakes would stay on the battlefield after starting a new battle.


Performance:
  • Optimized performance when switching to Free cam by pressing F during placement.


Changes
  • Units can no longer be placed on surfaces that are very steep. Placing units on too steep surfaces sometimes caused them to get partially stuck.


Please make sure to restart steam and verify the integrity of the game-files!

Please make sure to completely restart Steam, opt-out of any betas and verify the integrity of the game files.




Fixes
  • Fixed battle name not showing up in the top left corner when playing campaigns or custom battles.
  • Fixed an issue with the Davinci Tanks sound.
  • Fixed an issue where the UI was broken after unlocking a secret unit.


Changes
  • The Raptor rider no longer dies when the raptor dies
  • The shout of the Shouter no longer hits friendlies


Balance
  • Decreased the weight of the Raptor
  • Decreased the weight of the Raptor rider
  • Decreased reload time to Da Vinci


We are aware that there are more things that need fixing, we're looking for solutions to these issues and are hoping to release a new patch early next week.

Features
  • Added the ability to adjust the team border. You can now change the position, rotation, and shape of the border. Supported shapes are lines and circles.

Changes:
  • Changed the Cavalry charge to deal more damage and knockback
  • Painters now try to dodge projectiles
  • Improved Knight fighting style. Shield should not get stuck behind its back now



Fixes
  • Fixed error that sometimes will lead to a crash in the main menu, when trying to play sandbox or campaign.
  • Team border now flips color when color setting has been flipped.
  • Fixed bug which caused units to behave strangely if the player pressed start before all units had been placed.
  • Removed UI button related control settings.
  • Removed red box on the text input in save custom level menu.
  • And a lot of other stability fixes which will hopefully reduce the number of crashes.


Performance:
  • Optimized highlights around units to use less CPU and GPU resources.
  • Improved UI rendering performance.
  • Minor improvements to in-battle rendering performance.
  • Decreased memory usage.
  • Performance should no longer degrade the longer you play.


Balance:
  • Increased the health of Zeus
  • Increased the attack speed of Zeus
  • Increased the damage of Zeus
  • Reduced jouster cost
  • Increased hp of the jouster
  • Increased turn rate of the jouster
  • Decreased movement speed of jouster (They don't fall out of the map as much now)
  • Jousters now deals area of effect damage when running through a crowd
  • Slightly increased the health of the Cavalry
  • Cavalry now deals area of effect damage when running through crowds
  • Decreased damage of painter
  • Slightly decreased attack rate of the Painter
  • Slightly decreased the health of the Painter
  • Slightly decreased the knockback of the Painter
  • Decreased damage of berserker
  • Slightly increased attack rate of spear thrower
  • Decreased ninja shuriken knockback

Important information for all TABS generals!



Hello everyone, we have some important information for all TABS generals! The anticipated Pirate update will take more time to finish than previous updates. Most of the TABS Early access updates so far had already been worked on before the release which meant we could update quickly. This is not the case with the Pirate Update which we started working on after the Renaissance Update, this means it will take longer to finish.

While you wait we will, of course, keep patching the game to fix bugs, stabilize it and maybe release some anticipated secret units πŸ‘€

We will not give any estimates for when the Pirate update will be released as we think it’s important not to crunch.
