Nature And Life - Drunk On Nectar News

The next major update for Drunk On Nectar is underway!

"Jumping Spider Mating" will wrap up the lifecycle of this iconic species and allow players to experience mating, egg laying and possibly some form of multi-generation gameplay similar to the Monarchs and Grasshoppers.




A major part of this update will be a large cleanup-and-polish operation for the entire game. Player feedback on various levels has been addressed across the board with much more to come as this update heads towards release.

A large number of bugfixes and overall beautification is also expected to come with this release, celebrating the Jumping Spider's long awaited mating release :)

The Ladybug's lifecycle is planned to be taken up next. Further improvements to the Grasshopper are also being made along with a general round of bugfixing and other improvements for the larger game.

As the first "Prey Lifecycle" in the game, you will be donning the role of a tiny first instar Grasshopper freshly emerged from its egg!

Life begins rather placidly, but prepare to be hounded by predators (who're also tiny like you!) looking to grow and sustain their own lifecycles, albeit by feeding on you!


Get ready to explore the dynamics between your Grasshopper swarm and a growing family of Jumping Spiders who're also growing and moulting along with you, as you and your humble swarm look to survive the onslaught while growing bigger onto adulthood.

Defend yourself with mighty kicks from your spiked hindlegs! As you grow bigger and eventually, as an adult, soar into the skies...where the freedom of flight and mating opportunities is indeed your ultimate prize!

The Grasshopper Lifecycles update marks the beginning of the effort to wrap up lifecycles for the entire roster so that the game can move on to new content and explore things like new biomes, etc.

For those wondering why things were quiet of late, I was preoccupied with work outside game dev that needed ongoing attention and am now transitioning back with the Grasshopper update :)
