SCUM - Community Showcase
Attention inmates! Another week, another community showcase, fresh out the oven. Let's take a gander what you've been cooking up this last week.
Absolute survival.

Why the slump, buddy?

Best I can do is a community showcase.

He better be standing still until it turns green.

Now that's a horse with some real 'tegridy

These guys seems to already have gotten wind of the crops above. Locked in and loaded.

This new delivery service sure has it's UPS and downs.

Hey, that's not a bonfire

THIS IS A BONFIRE

Can't have nothing on this island, not even a little bit of privacy.

You know the drill, onto the next segment ->

The thumbnail says "rooftop camping", but we all know there's no such thing. It's called holding your position. First up we have MrCandy Show him some love.

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

Low risk, high rewards. Next up, here's BubbaHead, with a pretty informative video on how to make the B4 bunker a breeze to go through.

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

On the other side of the spectrum we have AlsoAqua mostly goofin' around, which might not be as useful to new players as the previous one, but it sure makes for some entertaining content.

SCUM - Community showcase
Prisoners! It's been a week since your 1.0 sentence has commenced - hope you are enjoying your incarceration. As part of your punishment, here's another community showcase for your reading ''pleasure''!
Hello there, sir! Could you spare a moment of your time to talk about our Lord and Savior?

You know some dudes would be like: ''Would!''

How she looks at you the morning after.

Rasta squad 'bout to smoke you out!

Damn, the mechanic is called base building, not fortress building! Very much approved, though!

Something tells me this base was contructed by zie Germans!

Can't get mad if you get shot by this absolute unit!

Cool tractors don't look back at explosions.

Pretty sure this estate will get this admin indicted for abuse of power.

Here's a cool pixel art rendition of our key art to top this segment off. Great job! God, I hope this is not AI...

We'd also like to give a shout-out to some of our content creators on YouTube:

Here's MrGameHunter with a video showcasing the graphical improvements we made to the island, along with performance upgrades.

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

For those of you that want to personalize your quests in your servers and have some fun with it, Proto1G made a fine tutorial for setting things up.

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

First steps are always the hardest, so make sure to watch Just our luck gaming as they start their 1.0 survival journey.

SCUM - A week into 1.0
Hello everyone, we are a week into 1.0 and oh boy it has been quite a ride so far! So let us revisit what transpired and what is to come.
As the title says it has now been a week since we launched 1.0 (and a hotfix). And your feedback has been, to say the least, plentiful. As you can see, we are everywhere reading and responding, but let us address as much as possible in this post as well.

To start, thank you all for your increased interest in SCUM and the massive amount of feedback you've provided. Over the past week, there have been over 200k of you individuals coming back and checking the game with the highest ever active player peak since the EA release at 45k players CCU. Considering the master server issues we've been having the past week truly amazing to see as well!

With all that let's get into what we saw.
Server files
Despite the problems at the start with distribution, looks like server files are a big hit! (who knew?) with over 31000 self-hosted servers detected by us. There is also a great server files discussion going on our official Discord, so if you have any questions or need help, you can find it there. The community has also been really busy expanding their capability such as which platforms they can be hosted on. We ourselves are quite excited to see what's to come, and to ease any doubts support our community in their efforts.
NPCs
We can see that the majority of you enjoy the new threat on the island, and the major consensus is that it is a great first step but needs to be more refined and added to it. We agree, and improvements are planned so you have even more to look forward to.

Touching upon it as well, are the reports of the spawning system messing up again. We are looking into it and your feedback is the most important here. So all your recordings and included details such as system spec and server/SP settings, even if vanilla, it helps us pinpoint how and why it occurs.
Some of you might wonder why are we asking for this, are the reports not enough? Well, we hear the problem but unfortunately in local testing, it is hard to reproduce it unless we break the server settings. So the more details we get the better the chance that we resolve it.
New map
Glad you guys are loving it so much. There are mixed feelings about the new bunkers we are monitoring the situation and looking at next steps.
We are also looking into other feedback about it including those pesky bugs you've been reporting in.
Reviews
Hey if we can have fun with some of them in trailers, we can also address some of them here as well. For now, focusing on those which are there due to some of the features that did not arrive with 1.0. As addressed in the Community addresses, we are not running away from this responsibility and acknowledge our part in this. We will be still working on the game until those are fulfilled and more. This also goes into the roadmap we released last month. We do however also see mentions of "promises" that were actually never made, such as switching the game to UE5 which became an urban myth. So no this is not a call for changing your review.

All that and more feedback you guys have been giving us, we assure you we are looking at it.

For even more questions and answers you might be having, we are here, on our forums and in our Discord as much as we can. We are also doing a Developer playthrough stream with Q&A in chat this Thursday on our Twitch channel.

Until then we will be here working on the game as always.

SCUM - Hotfix 1.0.0.1.95114
Hello everyone, we are deploying a small hotfix for some of the more urgent issues. Check it out! ->
• Fixed the issue where prefarb stoves and refrigerators would disappear.
 • Temp adjusted trench foot gain (nerfed) due to wetness bug.

 • Fixed global raiding times on official servers.
 • Fixed ping limit on global official servers.
 • Fixed the issue where solo/duo servers squad limit was not set correctly.
 • Fixed the issue where HC servers had 3rd person enabled.
 • Fixed the issue where PvE servers were not set correctly.
 • Fixed the issue where you could not hear other players voicelines.
Known issues:
• Using photo mode while in vehicle, can cause vehicles to disappear. Avoid until it is fixed.

And to be continued!

Vicious survival game Scum explodes on Steam thanks to long-awaited 1.0 launch

We recently learned that long-running survival game Scum was finally set to leave Early Access, seven years after it first launched in Steam's preview program. It's not unusual for games in this genre to spend a long time being iterated upon in this way, but Scum's lengthy creation process has meant we've been waiting quite a while to see how it's full version would pan out. Now, with its 1.0 launch, Scum has rocketed up Steam's player charts, enjoying a level of popularity that could see it standing next to genre classics like Rust, DayZ, Subnautica, and The Forest if its creators are able to make good on its initial success.
