SCUM - Patch 0.5.5.33519

[h3]Hello again everyone, we got another update for you. [/h3]



A small content update with a couple of bugfixes are ready so here you go:



First off lets get medieval on that ass. Introducing a couple of new items for that castle hermit roleplay.


First off we have a new helmet, inspired by that one guy. Forgot his name tho. Anyway here it is!



Use it well to either help dames in distress or burn someone's village. Find you a man who can do both.

Next up we have a new sword:



Also hiding in random castles around the island you can find this old relic, once a pinnacle of infantry combat weapons. Whoever said pen is mightier than a sword obviously never got stabbed by it.

Now ya landlubbers, since tha 0.5 dropped on the world, yar have been sailing me oceans not dressed properly. Rectify this mistake immediately or the next time you venture out into the deep blue, me black flag is tha last thing you will see!

I don't know about you, but I would NOT mess with that guy.

  • Fixed the bug where a whole bridge disappeared.
  • Fixed the bug where sharks would fail to release the player after the grapple attack.
  • Fixed the bug where wrong audio played on small shocker activation.
  • Fixed the bug where bread would not despawn when it has 0 usage.
  • Fixed the bug where flare traps would not properly use matches when crafting them.
  • Fixed a bug where grenades placed in fire would deal massive damage to BB elements.
  • Possible bug fix for server crashes.
  • Massive wave of level bug fixes.


  • You can now use improvised ropes to craft improvised fishing rod.
  • Drones now drop metal scraps when destroyed.
  • Added new drone behavior.
  • Adjusted the sentry accuracy, sentries should no longer one tap players.
  • Sentries will now focus on prisoners (as long as they're visible) that they have seen leaving the guarded area instead of focusing on their last known location.
  • Fixing melee weapon on the drill press/workbench now should not take sewing kit or car repair kit as additional required items, it will only consider toolboxes.
  • Disabled gaining experience when hitting objects with melee weapons in events.
  • Drones should no longer visit players in events.
  • Drones should no longer follow player when the player is affected by teleport.
  • Added metal and carbon explosive arrows.
  • Assigned new icons for explosive arrows.
  • Renamed the RPK-74 to RPK due to it actually being RPK not RPK-74.

Hello hello, we have another small fix for you. 2 changes incoming.

  • Potential fix for the connection lost issue.


  • Added and fixed a new video setting Texture memory.


Texture memory is a bit important so listen up:

This determines how much memory your graphics card has to load in textures in higher quality so set it up accordingly.

  • Low 1 GB
  • Medium 2 GB
  • High 3 GB
  • Epic 4 GB


So if you have a lower end graphics card with let's say 2-3 GB of memory available pick the Low setting, as for mid range and higher end ones see which one works best for you accordingly.

  • Fixed the bug where birds would sink boats when landing on them.
  • Fixed the bug where scopes would sometimes glitch out.
  • Fixed the bug where Brick factory walls had no collision.
  • Fixed the bug where animals could spawn inside flag area.
  • Fixed the bug where BB wall building would give more walls than it should
  • Fixed the bug where going underwater would darken the screen too much.
  • Fixed the bug where it was possible to stick items on walls.
  • Fixed the bug where inflatable motorboat would have wrong description.
  • Fixed the duplication bug.
  • Fixed the bug where some streams and rivers would not actually contain water.
  • Fixed the bug where some icons would not show up properly.
  • Fixed the bug where ghillie suit would cast too much shade hence being visible.
  • Fixed the bug where car wrecks would pop out their ambience only when player is close to them.
  • Fixed the bug where camera would twitch between changing stances.
  • Fixed the bug where some gas stations and wells would not replenish properly.
  • Fixed the bug where some ponds would not spawn fish.
  • Multiple level fixes.
  • Further streaming optimizations.


  • Crafting improvised rails now require engineering instead of rifle skill.
  • Reduced the intensity of reflections on scopes.
  • Adjusted parameters of items that spawn in WW2 bunkers.
  • Adjusted time of day speed so it is more randomized on the server.
  • Improved the visuals of the night sky.
  • Improved distant loading and performance of certain terrain items.
  • You can no longer fortify white office containers in military's POIs.
  • Increased render distance for boats to 500m.


  • Added new Server setting to set Time of day under [SCUM.Weather]:
    • TimeOfDaySpeed=3.84

We noticed a recent boom in our player count from all corners of planet earth and that some of our translations are outdated for these parts, or even some languages completely missing. We also had a lot of you guys messaging us, offering help with translations. Well we are now launching a new program: SCUM international.




Launching this program with goal of bringing SCUM and it's community globally we are looking for volunteers to help us with translations and community feedback.

Whether you think you have what it takes to translate text in game, patch notes or you want to help us link up with people that do not speak or write English, we are looking for your help.

Hopefully this will help us all to connect with our scummunity worldwide and open up more channels of communication.

  • Magazine dragged over weapon will now show equip option only if weapon is in hands.
  • You can now craft improvised rod with any rope.
  • Slightly lowered red dot & holographic sight intensity.
  • Explosive arrows no longer require a workbench to craft.
  • Adjusted the spawning rate of fishing rods.
  • You can no longer place or arm silent alarm in enemy flag zones.
  • You can now repair melee weapons at improvised workbenches.
  • Kar98k and M1871 are now able to equip improvised suppressors.
  • Tweaked the timers for suicide puppets till they explode.
  • Split the C4 components available between killbox and suicide puppets.
  • GPU performance optimization.

  • You can now carry an extra backpack in your hands.
  • You can headshot a suicide puppet, defuse it and get a C4 crafting part.
  • You can bury puppets to hide your tracks.
  • You can break stones into smaller stones.
  • Items placed in fire now get destroyed.
  • Puppets and animals now drown if they follow you in water.
