Hello everyone! It is Friday yet there is not patch today. I know it's sad but we are working on something that should improve the game in a way you all asked for. Well what do we have for you all then? Well a hot new Community showcase, Q&A and as is tradition a new comic page, all just for you. So get ready for new screenshots some questions and my dumb ass responses to all of them? Are you ready yet? Too bad, here we go!

  • Eventually, yes. Our focus right now is to optimize the game even more and then we can talk about when, what and how new features will be implemented.

SCUM - Hotfix 0.2.55.16696



Hello everyone! Yes we know that updates might not be on a weekly basis, but we have some hotfixes that should help to stabilise the game until we finish the super scary optimizations.

Into the bugs we go!!
  • Possible fix for door frames not destroying doors sometimes.

  • Fixed the bug with flare gun having infinite reload in some situations.

  • Fixed the bug where fireworks would disappear when trying to light it.

  • Fixed the bug where mugshots weren't centred.

  • Fixed the bug when exiting the right side of the bed in small cabins, it puts you outside the cabin.

  • Fixed AK weapons sound difference between single and continuous fire modes.

  • Fixed the bug where you weren't able to lay down on a mattress.

  • Fixed facial hair length when scarf is worn.

  • Fixed the bug while resting, if you hold W it assumes you are running and increases calorie usage.

  • Fixed the bug with the 20# bow having the wrong inventory size.

  • Fixed the bug where some clothing items had wrong icons on them.

  • Fixed the bug where you couldn't pull out last page from the diary.

  • Fixed a radio-related crash.

  • Fixed the bug where horse halves would spawn in the ground.

  • Fixed the bug where you couldn't access scopes from quick access bar if you had something in your hands.

  • Fixed the bug when you were teleported to an event while climbing a leader when teleported out of the event you would fall down from the leader.

  • Fixed a visual bug where night vision textures were wrong.

  • Fixed the bug where a message saying event was cancelled at end, even though it ended properly

  • Items should now be placed at their last inventory position when picked up again.

  • Fixed the bug where sometimes you would get stuck on "rest" action while sitting on a chair.

  • Possible fix for some users getting connection lost

  • Possible fix for players falling through the ground after being killed.
  • Added HP text to base doors.

  • Added base element names when destroying an element.

  • Improved wall snapping to door frames.

  • Allow urination, defecation and vomiting when resting (will automatically stop resting before doing the action)

  • Moving items inside inventory should now produce sounds.

  • Increased inventory size for M1 scope and Improvised scope from 1x1 to 2x1

  • You won't be able to change stance anymore while resting.

  • Now you are able to place improvised barbecue over the camp fire.

  • Now you have the possibility to change the base build foundation height! Once you enter the blueprint mode and adjust rotation press F once again and you will enter hight mode adjustment, and you use that with the scroll.

  • New Shortcuts:
    • Shift + C now opens the crafting tab straight away.

    • Alt + C crafts last crafted item or places last selected BP without opening the crafting tab.


  • Optimized flare items.

  • Small base building optimizations.

  • Minor client and server optimizations.

  • Yes, Dobrila is a known plant killer. But I keep my aloe vera safe and sound!


  • First of all thank you for the nice wishes and the comment! In the start we didn't plan to add base building we stated that few times. But as time passed and most of community was vocal regarding base building so we gave it a try, and it works really good. But ofc work on base building is not done, we have things to add and to improve!


  • We will definitely add more various AI in the game that you can interact with. From friendly AI to hostile AI, and all of those suggestions have been written down!


  • We read minds but don't tell it to others.

Or is it? We just wanted to let you know that for the time being we will have a bigger and deeper look into optimizations. So patches may not come on a weekly basis or they might do, in game dev you never know but we will give our best to keep you updated with the progress!

Big thank you to everyone for the awesome birthday wishes it means a lot to us!

Now here is a hotfix for some of the issues from yesterdays patch!




  • Fixed the bug where chests were not saved.

  • Fixed the bug with depth of field not working properly on weapons.

  • Fixed client crash while looking at base elements with a drone.

  • Fixed the bug where the wooden TV would disappear after relog.

  • Fixed the bug where the wooden TV didn't use planks properly.

  • Fixed the bug where the mouse cursor would disappear in main menu.

  • Fixed a visual bug on character creation menu.

  • Fixed the exploit where you could dupe items with vehicle inventory.

  • Fixed the bug where "rest" option popped out but it was not possible to rest.

  • Fixed the bug when you destroyed an element on which a player was resting he would continue to rest.

  • Fixed the exploit where people could take melee weapons from events.

  • Fixed the bug where you could take your holstered weapon while being tied down.

  • Fixed AK15 fire animations. Magazine was visible when inserting a single bullet.

  • Fixed the bug where oxygen mask would one shot kill you on throw.




  • Increased flare render distance to 200m.

  • Decreased oxygen consumption while diving.

  • Tractor now has a bit better driving control on dirt surfaces.

  • Now you can tie down people with the rest of "rope" items not just the regular one.




  • Optimized new locations so gameplay should be smoother around them.

SCUM Birthday Update - 0.2.53.16453 SCUM Comic #23



Greetings everybody!!!! Guess what? If you can count or google, today is our birthday!!! That is right 1 year of SCUM!! And to celebrate we have worked around the clock to bring you this big update!! So what exactly is in this awesome update? Check it out!

P.S. Before you ask yes Stimi managed to fix his PC thank god.

We got you some nice new additions to base build so you can expand in a creative way!


2 new cabins to build, both are bigger than the current one!

Cozy and double cozy.



New elements to make it cosy, safe and memorable. The spike traps do damage so don't walk on them.

We add first person perspective to vehicles, and see for yourself how it looks like! Also for now only the tractor has an animated and functional dashboard, we will add the rest later on!

We know that you guys like to look fancy so we got you covered!

So we added 4 new combat helmets, they offer same protection as military helmets but are much lighter.





Some cool scarfs (keffiyeh is the correct name).

In this little box we have a new gun, the AK15, and some extras.

The AK15 has 2 modes of firing single bullet and fully automatic it uses 7.62x39 mm ammunition.





And here is an anniversary AK47 with some neat engravings!











Here are some extras!

  • Silencer for all AK rifles.

  • Mag for the AK15

  • New scope Aim PRO, that can be mounted on most rails

  • New bow silencer that can be attached to all bows.






Got a new gesture!





The community spoke and we listened. Tying down, bondage, foreplay call it what you want it use it was you want it.

With proper item in your hands you can tie another prisoner's hands by approaching them from behind and using the 'Tie Hands' option from the context menu (hold F or press right click in interaction mode). This option is available only if the prisoner gave consent by raising their hands (surrender gesture).

Once tied the prisoner will have their movement options limited. They will not be able to perform most of the usual actions. One thing they can do is to try and struggle to loosen the bindings on their hands. If successful they will be able to break free from the bondage. Their bonds can be re-tightened at any point by another prisoner to prevent their escape.

The captive prisoner can enter vehicles, but cannot operate them. They cannot open the map, access their inventory nor join the events. In this state their log out timer is increased and forcefully disconnecting from the game leaves the prisoner vulnerable for longer time.

If all else fails the captive prisoner will be able to try and commit suicide by smashing their BCU chip into the ground, which will trigger a small explosion.





We improved the breathing underwater mechanic so you guys have more precise info on it!

When you start diving a new UI element will pop up around the health bar that will indicate how much air you have left.



If the bar hits red your health will start to drain, and if the red bar gets to 0 you're unconscious and will sink to your death.

The air supply that you have depends on your constitution attribute.





If you wanna show your support for your favourite team or want an epic screenshot, the flare offers all sorts of uses!

The flares come in 3 colors: red, green and blue.



But if you're scared of flares we got the flare gun ready for you!



After a long day of work you should sit/lie down



Sitting or lying down will recover health and stamina x2 faster.



A new food source for all of you hard core survival fans!

  • Larvae can be found in old tree trunks lying around the island

  • Worms can be found around rivers, streams and water sources.






Okay so we did more changes on sounds so it got its own section in this notes. Everyone say "thank you Rale"

  • Bunker door audio has been increased. You can hear bunker doors opening/closing on a bigger distance.

  • New crisp sounds for grenades, and the distance radius is now 1km.

  • Grenade detonations now travel! With a speed of 342m/s so if you are 1km from the impact you will hear the sound in 3 seconds.

  • And as always new fresh music on the radio.


  • Reworked spawn points in events so you won't spawn anymore close to other players.

  • Fixed the bug where you could eat aloe vera for an infinite amount of times. We had a good run old friend.

  • Fixed the bug where you couldn't see players inside the safe zone when you were standing outside.

  • Fixed an issue with some buildings not having collision.

  • Fixed the bug where items in event backpack didn't show.

  • Fixed a bug where it was possible to open an inventory container after moving away from it ("remote inventory")

  • Fixed the exploit where people used "push" vehicle option to position the vehicle so they can jump over fences.

  • Fixed the exploit with pulling the internet cable out.


  • Optimized base building, now if you run towards a big base you should encounter much less lag spikes and stuttering.
