WEEKLY CLUB TOURNAMENTS

Dear anglers,

after listening to your feedback we have decided to reduce the group sizes of the Weekly Club Tournaments from 30 to 15. This means that 15 clubs will compete for the top 5 places in each group per week. Smaller groups mean that more clubs have a chance of winning each week.

The change will take effect on Monday, May 16th, 2022 at 12am UTC.

A quick reminder how the Weekly Club Tournaments work:

QUALIFYING

A new club has to complete the qualifying week for it to be sorted into a group of similar performing clubs for the next weeks tournament. Example: A new club is created in week 1. The rest of week 1 does not count towards qualification. Week 2: All catches of club members who were already members during week 1 count towards qualification. Week 3: The club takes part in the Weekly Club Tournament.

CLUB GROUPING

All qualifying clubs are ranked based on their catches during the previous week. The ranking list is then divided into brackets of 15 clubs.

PRIZES

The qualified members of the top five clubs per week at each location receive the following prizes:

Club on 1. place:
1st: 100 Goldfish

2nd: 90 Goldfish

3rd: 80 Goldfish

4th+: 50 Goldfish

Server Maintenance, Monday 30.09.2019

Dear anglers,

on Monday the 30.09.2019 the TFC servers move to a new hosting provider. This is quite a big operation. Therefore the game will not be available for about 24 hours after the end of the weekly tournament at 2:00 a.m. Berlin/Paris time. Yes, that's a very long time. Unfortunately it takes so long to copy the databases. After all, TFC has been online for six years and you have caught a lot of fish during this time (338 million to be exact). We'd like to thank you in advance for your patience and will keep you updated on the TFC Facebook page.

UPDATE: Australia - The Coral Coast

Dear anglers,

the Australia: Coral Coast update is live!

Here are a few highlights of the Coral Coast update:

1. New location based in Australia: The Coral Coast. New fish species, including black marlins and great white sharks.
2. New quests including the hunt for Jagjaw, the legendary great white shark. You will also get a chance to help Jo, the marine biologist, to clean up the reef from plastic waste and help her to develop an antidote for the stings of deadly jellyfishes.
3. Five legendary fishes form the start. Meet the crew: Barcode the bar cod; Sharky McSharkface the jolly blue shark; a black marlin famously known as The Ninja; Googly Eyes, the big-eye tuna; and last but not least Jagjaw, the great white shark.
4. Get your charter tickets and go on a boat trip with your Australian skipper Brucie.
5. Improved weekly club tournaments. Clubs will now be sorted into groups of 30 clubs depending on your club's performance at a location during the previous week. Think of it as a weekly World Club Competition.
6. We extended the number of clubs that can win a weekly club tournament from the top 3 clubs to the top 5 clubs.
7. The Goldfish-prizes payed out to the weekly tournament winners have also been increased for all active club members of the winning clubs (and the prizes will be displayed when you login the first time after a tournament has ended).
8. We increased the Goldfish-rewards if you reach a 50+ experience level.
9. As requested: New line and rod repair kit packs!
10. The game can now be played in Russian language.
11. As requested: You can now set the user interface (UI) scale of the game in the settings menu. Many player complained that the UI in the Gameroom and Steam versions were too big. Now you can set your preferred UI scale yourself.
12. Last but not least: GDPR compliance. You will see exactly what kind of data we store, process and send to third parties when you play the game. Actually, with this update we will stop storing your e-mail address and your computer's IP address. We used to need this information to identify your account in our database when you contacted the TFC support. From now on, if you get in touch with the support team, you will need to provide your unique anonymised player ID that you can find in the settings screen of the game. You will also be able to delete your account permanently from the settings account. Be careful, though, once you deleted your account all your progress in the game will be gone, including all your in-game currency - really everything, forever and ever, no undelete possible. Gone. Sleeping with the fishes.

Please be aware that the Coral Coast update will not run in the browser using the Unity3D web player plug-in anymore. Instead please use the Gameroom version (https://www.facebook.com/playongameroom?app_id=143003082537413) or the Steam version (http://store.steampowered.com/app/522230) if you play the game on your PC.

Tight lines and thank your very much for your patience. We know, this update has been long overdue.

Update News - Connect to Facebook account

Dear Anglers,
we have just released a small update in which connecting to your Facebook account is now handled in your regular browser instead of the built-in one, which was causing problems for some players.
When you click the "Connect to Facebook" button in the main menu now, your browser will open up, and Facebook will ask you to log in, and/or confirm that you want to continue using The Fishing Club 3D. After this, you are being re-directed to the game. Some browsers such as Firefox will ask you at this point if it is okay to go to The Fishing Club 3D -- please allow this to make the connection work! You can then go back to the game window and should see a confirmation pop up indicating that connecting to Facebook has been successful.
