As Satisfactory 1.0 looms, its dev still has "a huge backlog of ideas"

Satisfactory is a fantastic success story. From its early access launch in March 2019 to the announcement just two weeks ago that version 1.0 would be releasing in 2024, developer Coffee Stain Studios has continued to build an open-world sandbox game that's truly special, carving out its own segment alongside the likes of Factorio, Minecraft, and Terraria as a casual-friendly building game with an immense sense of potential. With 5.5 million copies sold, an 'overwhelmingly positive' 97% Steam rating, and its full release set for later this year, PCGamesN speaks to community manager Snutt Treptow about what the future holds.

Coffee Stain Studios has announced that their factory-building sim game, Satisfactory, will leave early access this year for a full 1.0 release. Satisfactory has been in development since 2019, and has to date released eight major updates to buyers during that time. 10/10 sandbox building game Satisfactory prepares for 1.0 launch

Beloved building game Satisfactory is finally heading out of early access, as developer Coffee Stain Studios makes the long-awaited decision to put out version 1.0 in 2024. After much teasing following the launch of Satisfactory update 8 in 2023, community manager Snutt Treptow explains that the team decided to "put all our efforts into the final version of the game moving forward." With an 'overwhelmingly positive' 97% Steam rating from over 131,000 users, there's plenty of reasons to be excited for the full release - and you can sign up now to join the Satisfactory 1.0 closed beta.

BUG FIXES
  • Fixed crash related to GPU Scene validate


UI
  • Fixed the shadow on the Reset Fuse lever being offset


LOCALISATION
  • Updated all languages with the latest translations
  • Updated language completion rates
  • Updated community translators in the credits


KNOWN ISSUES
  • A reminder for people who have been having issues with unexpected crashes on startup or weird behaviour with the game, in that case please try to verify your game files.

    You can do this on Steam by Right Clicking the game in your Library > Properties > Installed Files > Verify integrity of game files...

    And on Epic by clicking on the three dots (“...”) next to the title or at the right side, depending on your selected library view > Manage > Verify Files > Verify

    This may or may not redownload a large amount of files which might take a while depending on your internet connection or hard drive speeds so be wary of that.

  • If you are using mods, they might need to be updated or uninstalled after updating so please keep this in mind too.
  • The first time booting the game will be very slow, but that should not continue to happen after the first boot
  • Game can hang on quit
  • Factory Animation tick reductions can be slightly too aggressive
  • TSR can cause visual issues with conveyor belts, you can try using the following console command to alleviate the issues, but this will reduce AntiAliasing quality
    • r.TSR.ShadingRejection.Flickering 0
