Early Access Update v0.4.2.9

Hi Pioneers!

Hello again everyone! Today’s patch is just a good ‘ol localization update to bring up all those translations up to date.

So it should be mostly safe™ but if we somehow broke things please let us know over at our QA site https://questions.satisfactorygame.com/ We read your reports every day.

A reminder for people have been having issues with unexpected crashes on startup or weird behaviour with the game, in that case please try to verify your game files.

You can do this on Steam by Right Clicking the game in your Library > Properties > Local Files > Verify integrity of game files...

And on Epic by clicking on the three dots (“...”) next to the title or at the right side, depending on your selected library view > Verify

This may or may not redownload a large amount of files which might take a while depending on your internet connection or hard drive speeds so be wary of that.

If you are using mods, they might need to be updated or uninstalled after updating so please keep this in mind too.

See you again soon, thanks for playing

Experimental Update v0.4.2.8

Hi Pioneers!

This is a very small patch with no significant content for most of the playerbase, we’re adding two things as requested by community to make some modding stuff easier for people.

This patch should be very safe™️ but if we somehow broke everything let us know at our QA site https://questions.satisfactorygame.com/ If it’s too bad, you can always switch to the EA version in the meantime!.

As always, if we somehow broke everything please let us know over at our QA Site https://questions.satisfactorygame.com/ We will try to get everything back to normal ASAP.

Quick Update on State of Development

Hey everyone!

It's been a little quiet lately from our end but I just wanted to let y'all know that we're knee deep in working on Update 5! We don't have anything exciting to show just yet but I'll give y'all a little run down on what general development info we have at the moment for Satisfactory!

If you don't feel like reading and would rather get this information in video format then we got ya covered in this video right here!

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
When is Update 5 coming out?
Update 5 is slated for release sometime this fall (2021). If you've been with us before you know that we generally won't announce any exact dates until we feel super confident that we can meet them. We'll announce more about the release date for Update 5 once we know more.
What's in Update 5?
This is still a little bit secret, but once we get further into development we're going to start revealing/teasing content for update 5 through our regular channels. Make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel if you want to be notified about any info on Update 5 as this is where we'll post teasers and info first.

However, one thing we can say is that we're working on improving the build modes in the game. When we released update 4 we fixed some bugs related to collision to some of the foundations (aka the cheatcrete™) which resulted in some of the freedom being lost while building in the game. Which sucks. So we reintroduced this bug again!

In Update 5 we're focusing on improving the build mechanics in the game so that we can see even more creative builds in the future with having to rely on a bug!

As with any update there's also going to be a bunch of optimization and bug fixes coming. This includes fixes for multiplayer.
What's the status of Dedicated Servers
We're-still-working-on-it™. There's a number of lingering issues with multiplayer that we still need to address before we can launch dedicated servers as currently only the host is able to resolve these issues and with a dedicated server there will be no host around to do so. I know it's been a long time coming and it's sort of a meme at this point but we're doing what we can to get them available as soon as feasibly possible.
What else is coming to Satisfactory at-some-point™?
There have been a few other things we've confirmed are going to make it in the game at some point before we hit 1.0, and here's a few of them!

  • Signs
Kinda self-explanatory. But yes, signs will be coming at some point! We can't imagine Satisfactory hitting 1.0 without signs.

In the meantime you can always use the power switches as a sort of lame work around. Or train stations, they also got a text box on them. Not the best solution maybe. I dunno.

  • Train collision/signaling system
Ever since we first introduced trains to the game we've always wanted to do more with them. Having some form of train signaling system and/or collisions to trains is something we've been planning to add so expect some improvements to trains sometime in before 1.0.

  • Different Game Modes
A lot of people have requested that we add some more game modes to Satisfactory such as creative mode or peaceful mode.

We're definitely interested in doing so! The reason we haven't added these modes yet is because we want to be happy with the balancing with the game before we add any more modes but there will be some in the future!

  • World Updates
You may or may not have noticed that some parts of the map seem pretty unfinished. The reason for that is because there are parts of the map that is unfinished. We're actively working on the map and will be up to the point of release. Some areas are going to get some more love and sparkle and there's even a new biome coming!

One such area is Northern Forest, so expect a little bit of a face lift there! There are a few other ones that are kind of empty at the moment and these will also get an update at some point in the future.

There's probably a couple of more things we've talked about coming to the game that I don't remember right now but these are some of them! 💃
What about Merch???
There's been a little bit of movement on the merch front! Remember if you wanna check out our current merch you can head over to www.forfansbyfans.com/satisfactory but there's two things that people have asked frequently:

  • Will there be a FICSIT cup?
Yes! There will be another merch drop at some point in the coming months and this will include a FICSIT cup along with some other stuff.

  • When/Will there be an EU store?
Yes! That is something that is also in the works right now and will hopefully launch in a couple of months along with the FICSIT cup. We don't know the specifics yet or if the EU store will contain everything that the current shop but we'll have more news in the future!

Experimental Update v0.4.2.6

Hi Pioneers!

Here’s another attempt at fixing the connectivity issues we’ve been hearing from some players who mostly have really really big saves.

If we finally fixed these issues or if they persist please let us know over at our QA Site https://questions.satisfactorygame.com/ We’ll be glad to receive your comments either way
