We have just received very sad and painful news from our licensor, Catan GmbH:


"The Teuber family announces with deep sorrow and a heavy heart that their beloved husband and father has passed away at the age of 70 on April 1, 2023, after a brief and severe illness. "

Klaus Teuber was one of the most creative and prolific game designers. He has delighted millions of admirers around the world with his vast catalog of award-winning games. With "CATAN" Klaus Teuber created a unique game universe that became one of the most successful board games in well over 40 countries. "


USM and all its employees gather together to mourn the loss of the unique and vibrant Klaus Teuber. Our thoughts remain with his beloved family, which was the fortress of his life.

we have good news for the Catanians who sadly couldn´t migrate yet in our Dev Update XV. 🥳

Our team has been working hard on resolving migration issues and apart from one very specific one we have been able to resolve them throughout this and last week.

If you haven't been able to migrate yet, please try again now. We are monitoring closely and are introducing fixes if we should see any remaining issues.🤖

But migration isn´t the only topic we tackled. We also identified and resolved the custom match issue some of you have been reporting on our test servers and we are working on resolving the display issues for Elo after matches. We are currently planning a client update next week which will include these fixes among many other minor ones. 📅

Great news! We've just released a new update to our servers that will make your multiplayer gaming experience even more enjoyable. So, get ready to have some fun! 😄

Here's what we've been working on:

Host Switches: We've worked hard to ensure that if the host loses connection, the transition to another player is seamless. This means that your games won't get stalled, and you can continue playing without any interruptions. 🙌

Trade: Trading is now better! We've reworked some server communication, so you can trade with ease, without any flashing trade windows or unresponsive buttons. 💸

Reconnecting to Games: We've tested and improved the reconnection process to ensure that if you briefly lose connection, you can easily get back into the game without any issues. 🔌

We're excited about this update, and we're not done yet! We're currently working on a client update to fix minor issues with Friend and Guild searches, and improve how the leaderboard is displayed. We're also working on making sure that you get the correct prestige rank after a multiplayer game has ended. 🏆

The average playtime for our daily active Catanians has increased by over 20% since January, equating to an average of 53 minutes per day spent building settlements, trading resources, and dominating the board. Additionally, we have seen a 12% increase in our daily active user base, and we are incredibly grateful for your unwavering support and love for Catan Universe.

To ensure we continue providing you with the best possible gaming experience, we are putting together a community survey to gather your thoughts and suggestions. Our development team is also working diligently to address any existing issues and bugs before introducing new features.
