TOURNAMENT FAQ
How does Kards Blitz work?
To make things as simple as possible players can bring whatever decks they want without restrictions. All series are best of three and players are allowed to bring the same deck multiple times. This means there are no bans, no deck submissions and no hassle. Just show up, sign up and compete!
The Blitz Tournaments will have 4-8 players each, depending on demand at any given time and the top 50% of tournament participants will receive in game prizes, with the winner qualifying for the main event.
The main event will be a big single elimination bracket filled with best of 3 series all the way to the end. It’s a tournament format that leaves no room for mistakes, so players better bring their A-game!
Where do I register to play in Kards Blitz?
Registration for each Kards Blitz event will open one hour before the events start time. There will be 8 seats available for any given tournament. Once you've registered for a Blitz, you will then check-in to the event 15 minutes before the start time.

Do I need to submit my deck lists for Kards Blitz?
Nope! Kards Blitz is a free-for-all deck format. This means you can play whatever deck you want, however many times you want. Bring one deck or try out 5 different decks. The choice is yours!
What does single elimination bracket mean?
Each Blitz event is a best of three single elimination bracket. This means you will need to defeat your opponent 2 times in order to win the round and move to the next round. If you lose a round, you are eliminated from the event. You will then be free to sign up for another Blitz event if one is available. If you win a Blitz qualifier event, you will qualify for the main event on March 20th. Therefore, if you win a qualifier event, you will not be able to play in the remaining qualifiers.
How will I know who my opponent is?
Each new round you will see your opponent on the “Brackets” page in Battlefy. You can communicate directly with your opponent through your Battlefy match page or through Discord. If your opponent is not responsive after ten minutes, please let a 983 Crew member know.
Can I register to play in more than one Blitz qualifier?
Yup! You can sign up for as many or as little as you like till you've qualified for the main event. If you win a Blitz qualifier event, you will qualify for the main event on March 20th. Therefore, if you win a qualifier event, you will not be able to play in the remaining qualifiers.(edited)
How do I check-in to my match and what does that mean?
Each new bracket round, you will be required to “check-in” to your match on Battlefy. When you go to your match page, you will see a “I’m Ready” button. Click this to let your opponent know you are here and ready.
IMPORTANT: Each new bracket round you will only have 10 minutes to check-in to your match. Failure to check-in to your match after 10 minutes of the new round starting will result in an automatic round loss. If you have not shown or not checked-in to a round during the tournament, you will be automatically disqualified.
What if I played my matches but forgot to check-in to the round?
Don’t worry! An admin can reset the match for you so that you can report your scores. In most cases, an admin will have reached out to you to see if you are there and playing if they see the auto loss take place.
What happens if my opponent doesn’t show up?
Free wins! Your opponent will be given an auto loss for the round if they fail to show up and check-in to the match after 10 minutes, which will give you the 2-0 victory. If this does happen, please let an admin know in the Discord that your opponent was a no show.
What happens if my opponent showed up AFTER the 10 minutes were up?
To keep the tournament moving in a timely manner, we can not make exceptions to the 10 minute rules. No shows to a round after 10 minutes is an automatic loss.
What happens if my opponent showed up but is now not responding?
Please inform an admin in the discord or flag your match in Battlefy so they can assess the situation and attempt to make contact with your opponent.
What happens if my opponent and I tie?
A tie will be treated as a replay. You will queue into the match again with the same decks and replay the game.
What happens if I was disconnected from the game in the middle of a match?
Should a game end due to DISCONNECTION once both players have seen the game match screen and a turn has been played by both players, then the player who disconnects is given the loss. If a game ends due to a disconnection BEFORE the game screen is accessed or before each player has played one turn, then the match is replayed.
I queued into a game with the wrong deck. Now what?
Since Blitz is a "free-for-all" deck format, you will be obligated to play with whatever deck you queued into your match with. If you chose to concede or forfeit the match in an attempt to change your deck, the forfeit will still be counted as a loss.(edited)
I finished my round matches. Now what?
Once you have finished your games for the round and have reported your scores in Battlefy, you can wait in the 983 Discord for your next opponent. Since this is an elimination bracket, as soon as you see a new opponent in the bracket for you, you may contact your opponent and start your matchup.
Rounds may take MORE than one hour in some situations. Please be advised that you might wait for a while if you’ve finished your rounds early. HOWEVER, you are responsible for showing up to the next round in a timely manner.
How do I drop out of the tournament?
If you no longer wish to participate in the qualifier you registered for, just let an admin know in this discord and they will drop you from the bracket.
Are intentional losses allowed?
No. Intentional losses or draws are not allowed. If you are caught or suspected of win trading, you will be disqualified from the bracket and will not be allowed to register for other Blitz qualifiers.
