Community Update 1/22

Hello NosPlayers!

As some of you may have noticed... it’s the start of a new year! And of course that means it’s time for another community update.

As the last update was around half a year ago now, here is a short explanation of what community updates are. For a while now, at the start and middle of the year, we send out a little note summarising any updates, changes, and ideas we’re considering for the months thereafter.

Of course, nothing is set in stone, and sometimes plans are pushed back or forward. But this just gives you a good overview of what you can look forward to. The plans discussed in today’s update will cover the first half of 2022 (in no particular order). We’re looking forward to another wonderful year with you all!

Of course, the biggest point on the list is the second half of the Act 8 Update. As the main feature of 8.2., our plan is to introduce a champion level equivalent to the Land of Death, something that’s been requested for a while now. We also want to make some significant changes to runes and tattoos. As well as introducing new stuff (why exactly do runes only work on weapons?), we will also have to take a piercing gaze at a few things needing nerfs.

Another greatly awaited topic that we will be turning our minds to now the new year has started is merging more servers. The whos, whats and wherefores regarding this merge will all be made clear in separate news posts. For the moment, we just want you to know that we see and hear the calls for merges loud and clear, and are making preparations.

But servers aren’t the only things that will see some merging in the next 6 months! We’re currently in discussions with Entwell about a possible merge system for partners and wings: two areas that we know are very much hoped for by the community.

And of course we have to mention the hotly discussed balance patches, as they are absolutely still on the cards. The next pair we have planned are for Seers and Berserkers. We’re diligently pottering about making plenty of improvements.

Besides all of that, you can also look forward to another season of the battle pass, as well as all the usual seasonal events, and some fantastic new items (such as a pair of wings based on the winner of our last fan art competition).
