[h2]80th Anniversary of D-Day[/h2]
On the morning of June 6, 1944, the full force of the Western Allied powers was brought to bear against Germany's Atlantic Wall on the beaches of Normandy, in what amounted to the largest amphibious invasion in History.
80 years on, we're commemorating it in World of Warships with
three brand-new event Operations spread across Updates 13.4 and 13.5:
- Clear the way for landing craft at Utah Beach by suppressing German defenses.
- Take command of German destroyers and delay the arrival of Allied forces at Omaha Beach.
- Mount a daring rescue operation at Omaha Beach as an Allied ship.
Each Operation will be available for 2 weeks, and you'll be able to participate in Divisions of up to 6 players helming Tier VâVII destroyers, cruisers, and battleships.
The D-Day Operations only have a single difficulty level, and completing the primary objective will not be the hardest part. There will, however, be a series of secondary objectives that will grant you
Stars and increase the overall difficulty of the Operation. The Stars will progress you through a special
reward track, giving you the opportunity to earn
new Classified Document options.
[h3]New Mechanic: Classified Documents[/h3]
A special mechanic,
Classified Documents, will be available in these Operations and can be activated against certain enemy groups for additional bonuses. Each Document has three levels: "Confidential," "Secret," and "Top Secret." Each new level grants an additional bonus to the existing Classified Document option.
There are twelve options in totalâsix Allied and six Axisâand players receive one option per side at the start of the event. Only three can be brought into an Operation at a time. You can either choose them in the Port manually before battle or during a short window of time after the Operation begins.
[h2]Clan Battles 25: Support Consumables[/h2]
Clan Battles Season 25, codenamed "Polar Bear," will be shorter than usual due to its experimental natureâwe're adding some of the
support consumables you may be familiar with from the recent Piñata Hunt event. These special consumables will provide advantages to you and your team.
To keep teams balanced with these support consumables active, there will be restrictions on the number of consumables that can be taken into battle per Division, as well as restrictions on which types can equip certain consumables.
