Captains!

Defending or destroying maritime shipping routes has always been one of the most important tasks of any navy, because large quantities of military equipment, fuel, and other strategically important cargo are often transported across the seas. Intercepting merchant and cargo ships was the primary objective of numerous raiders, and warring parties had to maintain considerable naval forces to protect their trade routes.

Update 0.10.8 invites you to participate in a new temporary battle type inspired by this historical practice—Convoy—in which you'll need to either defend or destroy cargo ships.

7 vs. 7, playing Tier VIII ships.

No more than one aircraft carrier and three battleships per team.

The Atlantic, Islands of Ice, Warrior's Path, Loop, and Labyrinth.

Two teams participate in each battle—one is tasked with escorting cargo ships, and the other is tasked with attacking them. Players are randomly distributed among the two teams. You can enter each battle either alone or as part of a Division.

The defending team needs to escort a convoy of four AI-controlled cargo ships as they sail along a defined route. The defending team wins if at least one of the convoy ships reaches the destination point or the entire enemy team is destroyed. The mission of the attacking team is to completely destroy either the convoy or its defenders.

On average, it takes the convoy between 10 and 12 minutes to complete the route. The convoy's route is visible to both teams on the Minimap. Moreover, at the beginning of each battle, the escorting team will see the position of the attacking ships on the Minimap, while the attacking team will only see the position of the transport ships themselves.

The convoy consists of four Liberty-class transport ships. They have little HP and weak armor, but they can deploy smoke screens, as well as change speed and maneuver to dodge enemy torpedoes.

Achievements[/h2]
Your successes in Convoy will be rewarded with special themed achievements:

Due to the specifics of the battle type, you can only earn these achievements in Convoy.

Combat Missions[/h2]
You will also have access to combat missions that can be completed only in Convoy. Win and earn Base XP to obtain Community Tokens. During the first week, you'll also have access to a special mission chain that can be completed in Convoy playing cruisers; in the second week, you'll get another mission chain that can be completed playing destroyers. These chains will earn you Credits and More Resources containers.

Detailed information about the mission completion criteria can be found in the game client.

Battle Performance Bonuses[/h2]
Earn festive battle performance bonuses playing all of your Tier V and higher ships. Win a battle or earn 300 Base XP to receive Supercontainers, a new temporary resource called Festive Tokens, and Gift containers:

The bonus for each ship can be earned only once in battles of any type, except for Training Battles.

IX Carnot is a variant of the project of a super-heavy cruiser that was the predecessor of the Dunkerque-class ships. The ship is armed with powerful artillery comprising ten 305 mm guns housed in three turrets. She fires shells along a flat ballistic trajectory. Carnot has a large HP pool, high cruising speed, and a solid selection of consumables that includes Hydroacoustic Search or Defensive AA Fire in one slot, as well as Engine Boost, Fighter, or Spotting Aircraft in the other slot.

If deemed necessary, balance changes may be applied to IX Carnot.

Epoch Permanent Camouflage[/h2]
You can purchase the Epoch permanent camouflage alongside themed camouflages and Credits as a part of a special bundle in the Armory and Premium Shop.

The Epoch permanent camouflage can be mounted on all Tier IX ships, except for IX AL Sov. Rossiya Once mounted on a ship, the camouflage acquires the properties of a typical permanent camouflage and is assigned to that ship. You can have an unlimited number of Epoch permanent camouflages.

A new permanent tab will find its home in the Armory with the release of Update 0.10.5. Under it, you’ll be able to obtain exclusive rewards in exchange for a new currency—Community Tokens. These Tokens will not only functionally replace Recruitment Points, they will also become a major reward for participants of World of Warships activities outside of the game itself.

[h2]Concept[/h2]
With the introduction of Community Tokens, we aim to both streamline the system of collecting rewards and diversify the content that can be earned by participating in community activities, including—but not limited to—the Recruiting Station, Public Test, Twitch Drops, sponsored tournaments, and live meetups.

Earned Community Tokens will accumulate on your account like any other in-game currency. You’ll be able to spend them at any time in the new “Naval Community” permanent tab, which is going to appear in the Armory with the release of Update 0.10.5.

The main advantage of this reward system over the previous ones is that it enables you to choose the loot that suits you personally instead of receiving fixed rewards.

Community Rewards[/h2]
The “Naval Community” Armory tab will be stocked with a sizeable amount of in-game content that can be obtained in exchange for Community Tokens. At launch, you’ll be able to purchase a number of rare ship customizations, containers, and even a Premium ship! The pool of available rewards may be partially refreshed from time to time, but some items, such as Recruiting Station containers, will be a constant fixture.
