Helldivers 2 developers Arrowhead have said they will be able to get back to working on future “improvements” for the superb bug-stomping, bot-blasting shooter after finally resolving the weeks-long server struggles caused by the game’s immense popularity.
Since the game has gone stratospheric, Arrowhead Game Studios CEO and Helldivers 2 creative director Johan Pilestedt has kept comms open with fans on social media. And in an update on February 25, 2024, he shared that a highly requested armor customization feature is being discussed at the studio.

While Helldivers 2 has just enjoyed its first weekend without any major server issues leading to massive log-in queues, it’s not all sunshine and rainbows in Robot Vietnam. The issue of farming is currently causing a big ruckus within the game’s community, although there’s still a lot of confusion as to exactly how or whether it’s affecting campaign efforts.
Yep, now that folks trying to keep their server spots by leaving the game running while AFK are no longer a big problem, there’s a new type of Helldiver earning ire, with this one being the kind that’s just keen to bag as many goodies as possible. That said, it’s still unclear whether folk just running the same kinds of missions repeatedly is actually handing the community as a whole Ls.
Helldivers 2 might have just had its smoothest weekend yet, as the new server cap of around 800,000 players held steady "without problem," amid ongoing server issues for one of 2024's biggest surprise hits.
