One of my favourite things about Helldivers 2 is the fact it's home to a human game master, known as "Joel", who controls the narrative. Joel's been known to leave surprises, namely mechs before they officially launched a while back. And now he's seemingly granted a group of lucky players the chance to ride about in an armoured truck outfitted with guns. Maybe, just maybe this signals their imminent release?
UPDATE (22/03/24, 17:00 PM GMT): While it still doesn't look to have been addressed by Arrowhead, the consensus on this weird happening seems to to be that the successful order completion messages were most likely a bug of some kind, as the community definitely didn't achieve the objective in time.
Uh, ok, so this is gonna be a weird one. After Helldivers 2 have spent the last little bit all preparing to fail the game's latest major order - likely due to all of the issues that've been plaguing the game this week - it looks like they've now gotten conflicting reports as to whether they have or not.
Yeah, they're just as confused as you are. And I don't just mean the folks who've been having to hope that the game's mechs will someday become idiot proof. Though, to be honest, given the problems that've been afflicting the game's galactic war liberation percentages, this might not be that surprising.

If you've encountered Helldivers 2 flying bugs this past few days while doing your best to spread managed democracy, you're not alone. Increasing reports of airborne Terminids are coming in from players, leading to a special Super Earth broadcast from the in-game Ministry of Intelligence acknowledging the new threat. Now, even Arrowhead Game Studios CEO Johan Pilestedt has weighed in on the appearance of the flying foes, with a masterfully in-universe message.

Spreading freedom and liberty throughout the galaxy is a big job, and as it turns out, so is keeping a game as popular as Helldivers 2 running. Developer Arrowhead says it's figured out what's causing the persistent freezing issue that players have been reporting, and it's working on a patch for the issue that should be out next week. In the meantime, you may want to check your loadouts for certain weapons, which seem to be triggering the bug.
