Helldivers 2 players famously once saved kids just because they didn't care about mines, so of course Arrowhead's whipped out some more as the latest MO reward

Remember that point in June when Helldivers 2's community really weren't inerested the idea of getting anti-tank mines as a reward, so they went out and called Arrowhead's bluff by saving some Super Earth kids - a thing that didn't benefit the divers' selfish desires at all? Well, there's now another Major Order offering a mine reward, and players reckon it's another examnple of the studio trolling them a bit.

Helldivers 2 has had a pretty interesting year, having gone through periods when its players thought it was the best thing since sliced bread, some hardcore review bombing that momentarily turned into a mini-revolt, and everything in between. Now it's closing out 2024 with positive vibes, as shown by a recent bump that's seen its recent Steam reviews hit "Overwhelmingly Positive".

While they've still been busy with the usual Major Order stuff too, a lot of Helldivers 2 have also been keeping a keen eye on the game's SteamDB page over the past week and a bit. And now Arrowhead's thoroughly confused a bunch of them by updating a depot that sounds a bit more Hell's Kitchen then Helldivers.

Helldivers 2 is starting to reach the point where the end of what's generally been a pretty stellar first year of existence comes into view, even if it won't hiot that milestone until early February 2025.

Apart from the gameplay itself, a lot of players' favourite thing about Helldivers 2 is its soundtrack, but its composer almost gave up on orchestral music.
