The Helldivers 2 Galactic War looks to be getting bigger and better

Helldivers 2 is a live service game done right. Mysterious game master Joel is like the moon, controlling the tides as Automatons, Terminids, and major orders wash up at our feet and offer tough decisions. The story is constantly evolving, and impossible choices need to be made by all of us Helldivers for the good of the galaxy. Now, it looks like we're getting another moon, as Arrowhead is hiring a new game master to work alongside Joel to overhaul the in-game Galactic War.

Helldivers 2's next patch arrives later this week with over 100 changes and fixes, including visible supply lines and invite-only lobbies

Helldivers 2's upcoming patch has been on the horizon for a little while, with players asking about it having been gently told to chill out and be patient. Well, we now know it's finally set to drop this Thursday, marking the start of Arrowhead adopting the same approach regarding updates as it's just adopted with warbonds.

Yeah, stop dowloading a mod that'll let you rock some of Fallout's T-60 power armour while you kill bots or scanning through the PS blog again while you fantasise about looking fly in a beret very soon. The patch is coming.

"Helldivers, next patch deploys on Thursday," Arrowhead has just declared in a Twitter thread, making the date you need to mark on your calendar June 13. "You've probably noticed we've slowed our cadence of patches, it continued, Similar to our future approach to Warbonds, this is so we can dedicate more time to each patch to reduce the pressure on our teams, dig into your feedback more and deliver higher quality patches."

Starship Troopers: Extermination is coming out of Steam Early Access, perhaps just in time for Helldivers 2 players to get a different taste of democracy-spreading action. Extermination is the co-op shooter using the official license, of course, having entered Early Access in May last year.

In celebration of the big day, developer Offworld Interactive revealed a couple of exciting additions to the game that should convince anyone on the fence to jump in.

If you've been desperate to spice up your Helldivers 2 fashion, the time has finally come. The new Helldivers 2 Warbond has arrived, with a jungle theme perfect for Predator and Rambo lovers, something that developer Arrowhead says is designed to "answer player calls for stronger theming" across the entire pass. As part of that, we get our first round of vehicle customizations for 2024's biggest co-op success story, along with a pair of new weapons perfect for close quarters combat.

Helldivers 2's devs are changing their warbond approach, and the next one, Viper Commandos, drops soon

Boom. A new warbond is set to drop in Helldivers 2 soon, and it's brining with it the game's first bit of vehicle customisation. Viper Commanders is the name of this next care package, and it marks the start of Arrowhead taking a fresh approach to how it handles these kinds of content drops.

First of all, this next warbond, Viper Commanders. It's dropping on June 13 and is designed to let you play out your "jungle combat dreams". Basically, think every Vietnam war movie you've ever seen - fitting for a game that has long been known for having its own robot Vietnam in the form of Malevelon Creek.
