Hooray, Helldivers 2's latest patch gets rid of server spot camping by auto-kicking idle players

Helldivers 2 is very fun, when its poor servers will actually let you play it. Thankfully for those who’ve been struggling to get into the hugely popular game whenever they boot it up to take on Robot Vietnam, the game’s latest patch contains a feature designed to stop AFK folks from clogging up server space.

Yep, shortly following a patch that fixed the dreaded black screen startup issue and made quickplay a bit less of a cursed experience, Arrowhead’s back again with some more tweaks. Patch 1.000.11 isn’t too huge, but does feature some nice adjustments.

Fixed multiple crashes triggered when joining other players’ ships.
Fixed crash triggered when exiting ADS.
Fixed crash triggered when players leave a session while bombardments are active.
Fixed issue where online missions in Galactic War Map were unselectable.
Fixed issue with GameGuard and Steam’s “verify integrity” step.
Fixed issue with GameGuard and the Windows firewall.
Fixed issue preventing access to Ship Management panel.
Fixed issue causing players to get stuck in the defrosting or in the ship intro cinematic
Fixed crash triggered when the process of buying Super Credits fails.
Fixed crash triggered after consecutive quickplay attempts.
Implemented a functionality that will kick players who remain idle for 15 minutes back to the title screen.

Helldivers 2 patch fixes quickplay and crash bugs as Arrowhead work on AFK kick option and login rate limits

Last night I tried to host a Helldivers 2 co-op mission and the "ready up" button froze up. I spammed it in a panic while the randos in my voice channel fumed at the delay. Then I popped us out of the drop pods, attempted to quit the game in embarrassment, and the PC promptly crashed. Another blow for managed democracy!

I'm hoping that the ready up problem is one of the "various UI issues [that] may appear when the game interacts with servers" which Arrowhead are addressing in a future Helldivers 2 patch. Before that, there's patch 1.000.10, which fixes PC quickplay match-making bugs, gets rid of a crash issue when displaying mission rewards, and tunes civilian extraction mission difficulty, amongst other things. It's live now, and the full changelog is below.
