Another weekend, another weekend event!

For this weekend event we'll have it live the following period of time:

Now, let's jump into further details about this weekend's weekend event:
  • Battle Royale Zombie Loot Upgrade (BR)
    Loot dropped by regular zombies in the Battle Royale game-mode is upgraded / better. This means they have a higher chance of dropping loot but also a higher chance of dropping better higher tiered loot. We have also added more and better items to the loot drops for the zombies.
     
  • Zombie Farming Weekend (OW + SURV)
    In both the Survival and Open World game-mode drop chances for zombies have been buffed. The chance they don't drop anything has significantly been decreased meaning the chance is a lot higher they will always drop an item. We have also increased chances for better items and added some new items. This all for this weekend only.
     
  • Clearview Double Reputation (PVP)
    All PVP servers (in the Open World game-mode) with the Clearview map now have the double reputation feature enabled. This means that any reputation gained will be doubled. This only goes for this map.
     
  • Super Zombies Camo Skinbox Drop Chance (OW + SURV)
    In both the Open World and Survival game-mode super zombies have a chance on dropping a Camo Skinbox.

Patch 3.1

Here we are already at patch 3.1. We planned on releasing this update later, but due to some particular issues and improvements we have made to the game we decided to release the update earlier. We were also forced to roll out this update as soon as possible as there was a major issue related to the navigation regions for zombies. This caused not only corruption and crashes but also caused players to experience major performance issues and zombies behaving incorrectly.

 

Here's the notes for this patch:

Overall Updates:

GENERAL:
  • Fixed a crash related to VOIP. (VOIP is the in-game voice system)
  • Fixed a client-sided memory leak.

OPTIONS:
  • Added an option to adjust the sensitivity of weapon distance sounds. This option allows you to adjust the distance for weapon sounds (for example when you hear a weapon firing mostly).

GAMEPLAY:
  • Gear will now also auto-update if you pick up a better version than the gear you are currently wearing. This also goes for helmets.
  • Swapping weapons will now remember attached attachments. Here is an example: https://i.gyazo.com/c85091043d2df73db08b3f1b6eca2f17.mp4
  • Adjusted the auto-update backpack feature where you can now pick up backpacks even if your backpack is full, it will just put the backpack in your inventory. As long as the backpack is bigger, it will still auto-equip that backpack.
  • Logging in to a server with a unskinned item will no longer un-attach attachments upon auto skinning to your favorite skin.
  • Fixed a bug where grenades and other throwable items would not go to your quick slots when picking them up.
  • Fixed a bug causing the airdrop plane to stutter instead of flying through the air smoothly.

MODELS:
  • Fixed some texture/material related errors related to LOD versions of particular pine tree meshes.

VEHICLES:
  • Fixed a texture issue related to the Tuk Tuk vehicle where the inside of the front glass had an incorrect texture.
  • Fixed an issue related to the newly added (not released yet) 'racer' vehicle. This vehicle is still work in progress but planned to be added soon.

ZOMBIES:
  • The "Night Zombies" (which were work in progress) no longer spawn. These were never intended to spawn in the first place as it was still work in progress. You can recognize a "Night Zombie" because it has a very dark texture with glowing eyes. Night Zombies will be released when they're ready.
  • Fixed a bug causing zombies to run around (glitched) in a t-pose animation.
  • Fixed zombie aggro issues.
  • Fixed an issue related to zombies stacking up in groups causing huge performance drops.

 

Item & Skin Updates:

UPDATES:
  • Updated all (6) Heavy Armor Fallen Angel skins. We have reworked the wings, and moved them to a better spot so instead of them being attached to the shoulders they are now attached to the back of the armor. This was requested by the community in huge amounts. We have also optimized these skins better.

FIXES:
  • Fixed an issue related to a missing texture related to the AWP sniper rifle.
  • Fixed the Scimitar melee rotation in both FPS and TPS when holding this melee.

REWORKS:
  • Reworked the Heavy Armor store icons and all it's skinned variants.

IMPROVEMENTS:
  • Improved the inspect animation for previewing a karambit (melee) or any of it's skins.

 

Open World Updates:

Caliwood (OW):
  • Removed some of the player spawns in the south side of the map.

 

Battle Royale Updates:

GENERAL:
  • Fixed a bug where sometimes players would get kicked while reviving a team mate.
  • Fixed a bug causing the auto selection of group Battle Royale games to not work correctly when in a party.

Arena (BR):
  • Added radiation zones.

Tropico (BR):
  • Added radiation zones.

Airzona V2 (BR):
  • Added radiation zones.

For this weekend event we'll have it live the following period of time:

Now, let's jump into further details about this weekend's weekend event:
  • Battle Royale Airdrop+ (BR)
    Airdrop loot has significantly been improved for this weekend only. Normal items that are normally rare to drop from airdrops are now common. Airdrops have better loot and it's even more worth it to go for them this weekend!
     
  • Survival Double XP (SURV)
    Only in the Survival game-mode all experience gained will be doubled. This will be for the period of this weekend event only.
     
  • Quickscope-only Rocky Ford PVP Server (PVP)
    Ready to show off your skills? This weekend only we will enable a special Rocky Ford event server where you can ONLY do damage to other players by quick scoping them. This means that if you don't quick scope, you won't deal any damage.
     
  • Tactical Coin PVE Event (OW)
    Normal, Epic and Legendary Tactical coins will have double the chance of spawning. This means the chance you find any of them is for this weekend twice as high! Tactical coins spawn from Toxic, Alien and Normal Super Zombies, Airdrops and can be found randomly through out the worlds. Please note that since tactical coins are only available in the Open World game-mode this event is only for the Open World game-mode.
     
  • BONUS PRIVATE SERVER SALE: 20% DISCOUNT on the ALL private server rentals!
    This weekend only we are doing a private server sale for all private server rentals in all game-modes. There is a 20% discount already applied on rental prices. This is the time to get a private server!


     
  • MARKETPLACE SALE: Black Night Skinbox 25% DISCOUNT!
    This week we are doing a sale on the Black Night Skinbox where it's on 25% discount.

Now, let's jump into further details about this weekend's weekend event:
  • Double Daily Reward (SURV + OW)
    For both the Survival and Open World game-modes, daily rewards will be doubled for this weekend only. This means only when you have an account that is liable to receive a daily reward. (Daily reward times are updated from every 24 hours to every 12.)
     
  • AR-Only Double Reputation (OW)
    All official AR-Only servers will give you double the reputation when killing other players.
     
  • Battle Royale Double Tokens (BR)
    This weekend only, the recently introduced new currency "BR Tokens" will be doubled upon receiving any. These new tokens can be received when playing Battle Royale. You can gradually receive more tokens in BR depending on if you win or how many players you kill.
     
  • Super Zombie Loot Upgrade (SURV + OW)
    Super zombie loot is upgraded meaning better and more loot when killing them. This is in both the Survival game-mode and the Open World game-mode and for all types of servers including private servers.
     
  • BONUS INFLUENCER EVENT: Advertise the game and get rewarded!
    We would like to remind all of the content creators out there that during this weekend we are doing an influencer event where everyone who advertises the new Battle Royale release through platforms as for example Twitch or YouTube will get rewarded for doing so. Here we are at Patch 3.0. Now, you might wonder why we are continuing our patch series from 3 now instead of the usual 2 and that's because next to splitting the Battle Royale game-mode into it's own game we have also done major improvements to the original game; New Z. The biggest most major change actually happened 1 patch ago where we ported New Z to 64-bit. Since this was such a huge change and improvement for the game we aimed to separately release that update first in case of any potential issues.

Overall Updates:

GENERAL:
  • Various new content has been added for the new upcoming Season Pass #3. For more information about the season pass and it's content we recommend you all to check the content in-game after this update. We have added a lot of exciting and cool rewards so it's definitively worth to check this out! The new Season Pass #3 will be available for purchase directly after this update. Something new this season pass is that you can also be rewarded with any of the newly added in-game currencies.
  • Fixed particular issues related to the navigation mesh system. (controls where zombies can walk and where not etc.)
  • Fixed an error related to the Filipino localization which was causing the game to crash.
  • Fixed a shadow issue related to the pine tree models in Colorado when lighting quality was set on ultra.
  • Fixed a bug related to the account level system where a silver border would show for levels 400-410 even though it is supposed to be gold here.
  • Fixed a game crash that happened when changing the game from or to full screen or when changing resolution settings.
  • Fixed a visual graphics bug related to the SSAO setting along with the setting presets.
  • Fixed a bug causing the menu buttons to bug after using the bus or clan transport system in game.
  • Fixed a rare crash related to airdrops that had landed while a player was joining a server.
  • Fixed a game freeze related to zombies updating and multi-threading in 64-bit.
  • Fixed a bug causing your body to show invisible on the death screen when dieing in first-person.
  • Fixed a bug that caused the game to crash when changing language in the server. This bug also caused the "hold E" menu to pop up and glitch.
  • Fixed various UI visual bugs related to the in-game menu.
  • Fixed a terrain issue for far away textures.

  • Added back the option presets due to requests of the community. This means the presets; potato, low, medium, high and ultra are back. You can now also change individual settings after selecting an option preset without the preset switching.
  • Added a skinbox opening animation. When opening a skinbox an animation will now play where you can visually see how close you were to getting that super rare skin! If you want to see how it looks we recommend you to watch the dev-blog video mentioned at the start of these patch notes.
  • Added a system that will detect if the player is stuck in the water to aid release.
  • Added a tips system that will help new players to get started with the game. You can disable tips in the game settings.
  • Re-generated navigation mesh in 64-bit. This for better optimizations and to improve stability.
  • Improved some of the level leading features to be multi-threaded for faster loading speed.

GAMEPLAY:
  • Improved the bus stop camera animation.
  • Improved the reputation icons in the in-game HUD that you see when aiming at other players. The icons will no longer block the visibility of the level border on the character tags.
  • Improved the airdrop animations. Should be a lot smoother now for both the falling crate and the plane.
  • Attachments will now automatically attach to your weapon(s) when picking an attachment up that's supported by the weapon. For example: if you have no attachments attached to your M16, and you pick up a kobra sight, the kobra sight will automatically attach to your M16.
  • Attachments will attempt to automatically attach to your compatible weapon(s) upon joining a server in both Open World and Survival. This means that if you join a server with an M16 and a kobra sight in your backpack, the kobra sight will be attached for you when successfully joined the server.
  • Attaching and removing any attachment from any weapon will now correctly be synced with the hand animations.
  • Picking up a backpack that has bigger inventory size than the backpack you are currently wearing will automatically switch your backpack to that one. For example: if you have a small backpack equipped and you find a large backpack, when you pick it up the large backpack will automatically be equipped.
  • Quick slots will be "reserved" for consumables until the rest of the backpack can no longer hold more items. What happened before was that even weapons went in to the players' quick slots even though the weapon can not be used when being put in a quick slot.
  • Optimized the HUD. Frames no longer drop when running or moving the camera around.
  • The in-game minimap (M) will now update live with your position even when you are moving yourself.
  • Using fast travel (bus or clan) will no longer break the depth of field.

VEHICLES:
  • Fixed a bug causing players to fly up in to the air or to be teleported to a random position when leaving a vehicle.
  • Reworked the camera system for the vehicles: improved the car passenger(s) camera smoothing and the vehicle camera no longer rotates when opening the in-game menu.
  • You can now slightly control a vehicle while being air-borne. This allows players to land properly and control the vehicle while being in the air.
  • Added a feature that allows players to un stuck their vehicle by rolling and moving the vehicle slightly using the 'WASD' keys when the vehicle is stuck in or on something.
  • Stats of the vehicles have been reworked with focus on stability. You should notice a great improvement in drivability.

LAUNCHER:
  • Our launcher now uses https for improved security.

 

Item & Skin Updates:

ADDITIONS:
  • Added the M9 Helmet Blue as a skin.
  • Added the M9 Helmet Desert as a skin.
  • Added the M9 Helmet Desert Goggles as a skin.
  • Added the M9 Helmet Green as a skin.
  • Added the M9 Helmet Urban Goggles as a skin.
  • Added the M9 Helmet Forest as a skin.
  • Added the M9 Helmet Forest Goggles as a skin.
  • Added the M9 Helmet Camo as a skin.
  • Added the M9 Helmet Sand as a skin.
     
  • With the M9 helmet variants being converted to skins there is a couple of things you guys should know. Every account that has logged in un till 1 months ago, will receive all the "default" m9 helmet skins learned.
     
  • New skins have been added to the Pink Graffiti collection! This includes: IBA Pink Graffiti, MTV Pink Graffiti, M. Style Helmet Heavy Pink Graffiti, IMI Tar-21 Pink Graffiti, M4A1 Pink Graffiti, M4 Semi Pink Graffiti, M4 Pink Graffiti, M16 Pink Graffiti, Mosin Nagant Pink Graffiti, MP7 Pink Graffiti, UZI Pink Graffiti. All these news skins are added to the currently available Pink Graffiti skinbox.
     
  • New skins have been added to the Hynx and Hynx v2 collection! This includes: Famas Hynx v2, AK-74M Hynx v2, M16 Hynx, MP5/10 Hynx, FN P90 Hynx v2, AKS-74U Hynx, G36 Hynx, IBA Hynx, MTV Hynx v2, M9 Helmet Hynx, M9 Helmet Hynx v2, M. Style Helmet Hynx, M. Style Helmet Hynx v2. All these new skins are added to the currently available Hynx skinbox.

UPDATES:
  • Updated the item name of the "M9 Helmet Black" to "M9 Helmet Basic". This to fit the conversion to skins for the other M9 helmets.

FIXES:
  • Fixed the Mauser SP66 Pink Graffiti skin glow map. This weapon skin now glows as it should be.
  • Fixed the dropped model for the Vindicator Skinbox that was showing the Valentine skinbox when being dropped on the ground.

REWORKS:
  • Reworked the store icon for the M. Style Helmet Heavy. Also reworked it's skinned variants.

IMPROVEMENTS:
  • Improved the AA-12 Pink Graffiti. The iron sight is now skinned as well.
  • Added a skinned iron sight for the AA-12 Halloween.
  • Added a skinned iron sight for the AA-12 Winter.
  • Added a skinned iron sight for the AA-12 Vindicator.

 

Open World Updates:

COLORADO V2 (OW):
  • Fixed a flying clan territory flag at the NATO base.
  • Fixed a player spawn that was under the terrain.

COLORADO V1:
  • Optimized the zombie spawns around the airport.

 

Survival Updates:

GENERAL:
  • Added a dedicated currency to the Survival game-mode. This is done based on the huge demand from the community. For now the in-game store won't have any items available for this currency (yet) except for the skin boxes that are available in the Open World for Game Dollars. This means that dedicated ONLY Survival players can now farm a similar free currency and have the ability to use this free currency to buy particular items just like how it has been in the Open World game-mode. We are also able to control the rate so for future events we are able to do double currency periods.
  • Players can now trade Survival Dollars with other players through the trading menu just like how it is with Game Dollars in the Open World game-mode.

COLORADO V1:
  • Optimized the zombie spawns around the airport.

 

Battle Royale Updates:

GENERAL:

In Patch 3.0 Battle Royale will be separated from the original Infestation: The New Z. This means players can no longer play the Battle Royale game-mode directly from the original game. A new separated variant of the game will be launched on March 4, 2020 aka tomorrow.

Accounts including the skins, GC, experience and more are made global meaning you can use the same account with the same skins and currencies for both games. We recommend every player that would like more information about the Battle Royale release to visit the following links:

With Battle Royale turning in to it's "own game" we have made a lot of tweaks and adjustments.
  • Added a dedicated currency to the Battle Royale game-mode. This is done based on the huge demand from the community.   • The airdrop and safe zone icon / indicators have been added to the HUD radar. (The HUD radar is the radar on the top of the screen in Battle Royale that indicates what is north, south, east, west, etc.)
  • Sprinting speeds has slightly been increased in the Battle Royale game-mode to fasten the overall gameplay experience.

LOOT:
  • Major changes have been made to the loot in the Battle Royale game-mode. A lot more items that are available in the game are now also available in Battle Royale. Of course all with controlled rarities. High end gear such as a heavy armor or a sniper are still only available from radiation zones or airdrops.

COLORADO:
  • Colorado is now available as a Battle Royale map! We have made a custom variant of the known Colorado map fit for Battle Royale. With this initial addition the map and gameplay style varies a bit from other Battle Royale maps. These are noticeable changes:
    • Loot mainly spawns inside houses and buildings.
    • Vehicles are available and can spawn anywhere around the map.
    • Original safe zones have been turned in to radiation zones. You will need a gas mask to enter a radiation area. Gas masks spawn pretty much anywhere around a radiation area.

ARENA:
  • Added more end-zones. Meaning, there is now a bigger variety of where the final safe zone of the Battle Royale game can be.
  • Fixed the overall lighting.

TROPICO:
  • Added more end-zones. Meaning, there is now a bigger variety of where the final safe zone of the Battle Royale game can be.
  • Vehicles are available and can spawn anywhere around the map.

ARIZONA V2:
  • Added more end-zones. Meaning, there is now a bigger variety of where the final safe zone of the Battle Royale game can be.
  • Fixed the overall lighting.

 

Competitive Updates:

GENERAL:
  • Added a dedicated currency to the Competitive game-mode. This is done based on the huge demand from the community. For now the in-game store won't have any items available for this currency (yet) except for the skin boxes that are available in the Open World for Game Dollars. This means that dedicated ONLY Competitive players can now farm a similar free currency and have the ability to use this free currency to buy particular items just like how it has been in the Open World game-mode. We are also able to control the rate so for future events we are able to do double currency periods.

Patch ETA: Patch will roll out at this moment.

Estimated downtime: Around 1-2 hours. It's a big one.

Pre-patch notes might be changed if we need to fix / add something.
