The International 10 Collector's Cache Volume II

The International 10 Collector's Cache is back with a second helping of items from the Dota 2 workshop, featuring full sets for a wide variety of favorite heroes—including a Rare set for Templar Assassin, a Very Rare set for Faceless Void, and an Ultra Rare set for Legion Commander.

Available now for $2.49, unboxing 14 of these treasures will automatically grant you 34 Battle Levels, and the odds of receiving a bonus rare item increase with each one you open. You can also recycle any unwanted sets for two Battle Levels.

Volume II of the Collector’s Cache will only be available for the next thirty days and is the only way to receive these exclusive item sets, apart from the Ultra Rare Legion Commander set which will be marketable sometime after The International 11 concludes. As before, 25% of each sale contributes directly to The International 10 prize pool.

Once again, we’d like to thank all of the community artists who tendered submissions to the Dota 2 Workshop, as well as the entire Battle Pass community for your support.

ArtStyle returns as Virtus.pro's Dota 2 coach

Ivan 'ArtStyle' Antonov has returned to Virtus.pro as their Dota 2 head coach, having previously coached the team for their 2017 and 2018 seasons. He replaces Anatoly 'boo1k' Ivanov, who left the team in March this year. Virtus.pro had been without a coach since his departure, but ArtStyle has now plugged that gap in their line-up.

During ArtStyle's first stint in the hot seat, the team enjoyed major successes, winning ESL One Hamburg, Katowice, Birmingham, and the Bucharest Major. They also placed fifth in both years' TIs under ArtStyle. Away from just replacing boo1k with ArtStyle's return, the team has made a few switches to their lineup in 2020, still struggling to find a formula that works.

His return will be welcomed by Virtus.pro fans, who will hope he can replicate the success of his first time around. Since leaving Virtus.pro, he has continued to coach on the Dota 2 scene, working with both Winstrike and EXTREMUM, but many fans will consider his return the natural move for everyone concerned.

Fall 2020 Call to Arms

As we move into the later days of summer, it's time now to also start thinking about the approaching fall season and new possibilities for treasure to come. To help prepare, we're inviting all Dota 2 Workshop creators to dream up the latest in Dota 2 fashion and other combat accoutrements.

We're now officially accepting submissions—themed around autumn, Halloween, or perhaps some other innovations of your own—and we're interested in putting a larger quantity of items to use than in the past.

Over the next week or two, we'll be increasing the budgets for workshop items to give you more to work with. If you discover certain slots haven't been improved sufficiently, please send us your feedback so we can make any appropriate adjustments.

Please make sure to mark your submissions with the "Fall 2020" tag when tendering items to the Workshop. We request that all submissions be on the Dota 2 Workshop by the morning of Thursday, September 24th, 2020. As usual, we would like to ask artists to avoid the use of any concepts that involve human skulls, blood, and gore.

Additionally, all Dota fans should remember to regularly visit the Workshop and vote through the Queue to ensure your voices are heard in the selection process.

Some Dota 2 and CS:GO servers are down because a cable got cut

If you normally play your Valve games through the servers for the eastern United States, you might have a worse time than usual today. Valve's US East matchmaking servers are currently down, and it's not because of capacity issues or a DDoS attack or anything you'd usually expect - no, they're down because somebody cut a cable.

"The US East matchmaking server cluster is offline temporarily," Valve tweets from the official Dota 2 account. "There is a cut fiber cable causing a wide area outage in the hosting region. In the meantime we suggest queuing in other servers." There's not yet an estimated time for the fix, but then I guess Valve can't tell you what the cable company's gonna do.

The issue also affects Team Fortress 2 and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, but as venerable Valve observer wickedplayer494 notes on Twitter, those games should automatically distribute you to appropriate servers. But you can expect worse latency if you're used to performance on the US East cluster.
