Monster Hunter: World comes to PC in a month - here are its system requirements

Monster Hunter: World will launch on Steam on August 9. In a rare exception to the general rule that games get delayed, that's earlier than we were expecting - publisher Capcom had previously planned to launch in autumn. That said, it came out on consoles in January, so.

Capcom has also confirmed the minimum and recommend system requirements for what has already become the best-selling game in its history, with over eight million units shipped to consoles worldwide.

At a minimum, you'll need a GeForce GTX 760 or AMD Radeon R7 260x with 2GB VRAM or more; an Intel i5-4460 at 3.20 GHz or an AMD FX-6300 (or better); 8 GB of RAM; 20 GB of storage; DirectX version 11; and Windows 7 or above (64-bit required). This will deliver 30fps at 1080p on low graphics settings. Mouse, keyboard, and game pads (both DirectInput and XInput) are supported.

Recommended specs suggest a GTX 1060 (VRAM 3GB) or Radeon RX 570X (VRAM 4GB); an Intel i3 8350 at 4GHz, or an Intel i7 3770 at 3.4GHz, or an AMD Ryzen 5 - all other requirements, including RAM, are the same as the minimum spec. This will deliver 30fps at 1080p on high graphics settings.

Everyone relax, the Monster Hunter movie is coming to save Christmas

Given the year 2020's been, we're all a little worried about Christmas. Sony Pictures is aware of the concern, and has made the wise decision to put the Monster Hunter movie out on Christmas Day, so we have something to truly bring us all together in joy and good spirit.

IGN has confirmed the new release date for the movie based on the action-RPG games. Now, at least in the US, Monster Hunter will open in theaters and IMAX on December 25, moved up five days from the December 30 that was teased in the first trailer. Monster Hunter's release date has bounced around quite a bit due to the pandemic, starting at September 4, then jumping to April 23, 2021, before coming back to December 30, and moving forward again to December 25.

The Paul W. S. Anderson-directed blockbuster will now be in direct competition with Wonder Woman 1984 and Disney's Soul, both of which will be hitting streaming services the same day, the former HBO Max, the latter Disney Plus. If you're in Germany, Austria, or the Netherlands, you'll be able to catch Monster Hunter from December 3. Nothing on specific dates for UK and Ireland just yet, but we'll keep you informed.

Capcom now says 390,000 people's information may be compromised in ransomware attack

January 12, 2021 Capcom has issued an update on its November data breach.

Capcom confirmed in November that it was the subject of a ransomware attack, which compromised a wide array of the company's private information. The breach occurred on November 2, and on November 4 Capcom issued a press release which said "at present there is no indication that any customer information was breached". However, the company said later in November, that some player information was among the compromised data, and today has updated the total number of potentially compromised information affects around 400,000 people.

If you're reading this English-language news article, however, you can breathe easier. Capcom says it has no evidence that North American Capcom store and esports website information has been even possibly compromised. That was previously the only customer information outside of Japan suspected to be at risk.

However, the company has now confirmed that 16,415 people, including business partners, current employees, former employees, and their family members, have had some sort of data compromised. That's up from nine data breaches confirmed back in November.
