Patch Notes - July 24th 2019



Greetings Adventurers,

Mysteries of Summer are back again with new enigmas, riddles and dark secrets! Will you be the first player to uncover the mysteries this year? If you have already finished all the quests last year, stay tuned for a brand new mystery coming up next week!

Also, for those who train hard every day, Book of Training (1 hr.) will be discounted 90%! Do not lose the opportunity to get to those last levels you want to achieve!

And finally, our small and bold Shai has learnt to ride horses. It took her a while, but she is ready!

      • You can pick up the quest from where you left off if you had progressed through some of the questlines previously.
      • The new ??? quest will be released on July 31, 13:00 UTC/06:00 PDT/15:00 CEST.

Content
  • The Devour feature has been revamped.
    • Devour is now available even when Enhancement Chance is +1 or higher.
    • There are no item grade restrictions when Enhancement Chance is 0. However, when it is +1 or higher, Devour is only available for green or higher rating gears.
    • Just like before, Devour is available for weapons of +8 or higher enhancement levels and armors of +6 or higher enhancement levels.
    • When you attempt to use Devour with an existing Enhancement Chance increase greater than 0, you will either succeed or fail at a fixed rate.
  • Devour is no longer available for gear equipped with crystals or gear with Caphras stats.

  • Added a notification which is displayed when attempting Devour.

  • You can no longer install cannons at the Altar of Blood.

  • After fierce practice, Shai has finally learnt to ride a horse.
    • Shai can ride a horse or ride in the back seat of a horse with Two-seater skill.
    • Shai can use the Hunting Matchlock while riding a horse (however, Shai cannot use her attack skills while mounted).
Developer's Comment
Shai is now able to ride horses. We thank all Shai adventurers who have been waiting for this.
Originally we hoped Shai, different from the existing characters, could travel by riding a donkey and bring you a new play experience. However, after the updates, we gathered the opinions of many adventurers around the world and concluded that our wish was not an open but a forceful choice. Hence we made improvements with this patch and enabled Shai to ride horses. For those adventurers who appreciated the donkey, we will continuously make patches to offer you other ways of using the donkey.
The same goes for Shai's talent patch; with the launch of the Global Lab, we are considering your opinions, and doing our best to patch it live as soon as possible. We hope Shai becomes your unique, charming friend and we will support any necessary resource investment or development for this to happen.


System
  • The notification text that appears when you have not completed the prerequisite quest for entering the Altar of Blood is now more detailed.


Game World, NPC & Effects


Game World
  • Fixed the issue where the lower part of the berserker laborer at the back was not displayed when you captured Edan after completing the ‘Artifacts of the Naga’ quest.

  • Fixed the issue where the shop sold armors when the Amity with Partus the stable keeper of Keplan was over 500. Partus will sell the Donkey gear set in the shop if you obtain more than 500 Amity.

  • Fixed the issue where the window of Calpheon City Chapel 2-1 was not displayed.

  • Fixed the graphical issue of the bushes near the Loopy Tree Forest.

  • Fixed the issue that a horse can no longer be placed in a specific places in Calpheon Market Street.

  • Fixed the issue where you would get stuck in certain areas and could not move when passing through Gahaz Bandit's Lair by auto-running.

  • Fixed the issue where the structures of certain roads in Velia were displayed abnormally.

  • Sound effects are now heard when using flashbangs.

  • Extracting Reform Stones from PEN gear will no longer erase the engraved name of the crafter..

  • Improved the automatic navigation in the following areas.
    • Balenos
    • Serendia
    • Calpheon
    • Mediah
    • Valencia
  • You can no longer approach the island where Arena of Arsha is located (near Iliya Island) when an Arena of Arsha is active.


NPC
  • Fixed the issue where the text box of the drunk at the Lunar Halo Inn in Velia overlapped with the NPC’s head.

  • Fixed the issue where the Musical Spirit NPC under the waterfall of Gervish Mountains was submerged in the water.

  • The quest NPC Deian of the Duvencrune Mountain is no longer displayed in the minimap regardless of whether you’ve acquired the knowledge.


Mounts
  • Improved the convenience of using donkeys and wagons.
    • The donkey will now move into the running motion when moving by pressing the W key or by auto-moving.
    • Donkeys will now run away and hide when hit by monsters. However, the donkeys will not run away when they are within a distance of 25m from you.
    • You can call back hiding donkeys by pressing the Call Mount button.
    • Pressing S key will now stop the wagon quickly while the wagon is slowing down.
  • Fixed the issue where a Sky Balloon en route to Altinova from Terrmian was attacked.


Class Changes


All Classes
  • Fixed the issue where the camera perspective would abnormally zoom in when selecting Wagon from the Dye window.

  • Fixed the issue where the Matchlock would simultaneously reload and fire.

  • Fixed the issue where the character’s location was abnormal when entering the Beauty (F4) window, the Knowledge (H) window, the Pearl Shop (F3), or the Dye (J) window while your Karma had a negative value.


By Class

Tamer
  • Made an improvement so that the Attack Speed buff and Heilang: Berserk buff applied from using the Rage Absorption (Common) skill will now be applied simultaneously.
    • Previously when you used the Heilang: Berserk skill while receiving a buff from Rage Absorption (Common), the Attack Speed buff did not stack. Due to the improvement, the Attack Speed buff will now stack when using Heilang: Berserk while you are receiving a buff from Rage Absorption.


Musa
  • Fixed the issue where the character’s hair was displayed over the helmet when equipping the Dark Martial Helmet.


Ninja
  • You can sprint by entering Shift + W when you get off of a running horse without having your main weapons equipped.


Kunoichi You can now sprint by entering Shift + W when you get off of a running horse without having your main weapons equipped.


Striker
  • Fixed the issue where the right leg would disappear when equipped with a New Year Hanbok clothes that had low durability.

  • Fixed the issue where the arm area would display an unnatural line when equipped with a New Year Hanbok with low durability.


Lahn
  • Fixed the issue where you were unable to dye the leaf part when equipped with the Treant Camouflage Crimson Glaives.


Archer
  • Fixed the issue where the part below the bottoms would look awkward when equipped with the Gierach Armor.


Shai
  • Fixed the issue where the fingers would disappear when equipped with the Red Nose's Armor.

  • Improved the wind effects for skills used with the Florang.

  • Fixed the issue where the head shape numbers 3, 12, and 16 would appear to not properly display parts of the back side of the head when equipped with the Marigold Sunset clothes.

  • Shai can now use the Capturing Rope.

  • When you use Twirl towards the left or the right side and then to the opposite side, you now deal 2 hits to the opposite side.
    • Increased the speed of 1 hit standing Swing Swing skill motion.
  • You can now activate Eat This! faster while using Hop, Tuck-and-Roll, or Swing Swing.

  • Adjusted the very low damage the attack skills used with the florang dealt when in PVP, and now they can make more than a certain level of damage.

  • Increased the attack range of the following skills in order to fix the issue where the actual attack range was smaller than the attack effect shown when attacking with the florang.

    • One-Two-Three
    • Hop-Three
    • Kwik-Two
    • Twirl-Three
  • The transition to Twirl while using Hop to the left/right has been improved to be faster.


Item Changes
  • Revised the descriptions for swimsuits and bikinis so that the description about displaying the outfits would be more clear.


    ※ If you select the Swimwear Settings button in the equipment window in a safe zone or while swimming, your swimwear will be seen by other Adventurers.


    ※ If you select the Swimwear Settings button in the equipment window while you're in the Safe Zone or in water, your swimwear can be seen by other adventurers.
  • Added the ingredients to craft Capotia accessories.
    • Capotia Necklace
      • Only characters of Lv. 64 and above can perform Manufacture to craft it.
      • Ingredients: Yona's Fragment x400, Karanda's Latent Aura x3, Oil of Storms x5
    • Capotia Belt
      • Only characters of Lv. 63 and above can perform Manufacture to craft it.
      • Ingredients: Yona's Fragment x350, Kutum's Latent Aura x3, Oil of Tranquility x5
    • Capotia Earring
      • Only characters of Lv. 62 and above can perform Manufacture to craft it.

    • Cron Stones cannot be used during Capotia enhancement.
    • You can attain max durability recovery by using an accessory of the same name or Yona’s Fragment.

Developer's Comment
We had introduced Capotia accessories in the past as a symbolic reward of your very first level-up. Since they used to be TRI accessories, them being a reward itself was seen as meaningful back then.
However, we concluded, from our current as well as future point of view, that Capotia accessories would gradually become less attractive. We consequently added ingredients that could be used more broadly (such as raising a second character) and an enhancement feature that could enhance the value of an accessory.
We worked on this patch focusing on that these two updates would not immediately affect the market. So not every player might need Capotia accessories for now, but we hope their significance and usefulness to grow further on a long term basis.
  • You can now obtain Yona’s Fragment when heating certain yellow grade accessories.
    • You can obtain Yona’s Fragment by heating only when you have learned “Ossa Dilla’s Special Heating Method” from the Valencia Arms Dealer NPC Ossa Dilla.


      ※ The quantities and ways of obtaining Yona's Fragment through the existing accessories are as follows:

  • Fixed the wrong content in Fertilizer Sack’s description.

  • Fixed the issue where the Blue Lion Crown still worked when the item expired while wearing it.

  • Added a content in Mystical Spirit Powder’s description stating that you cannot obtain the powder from a Spirit Stone that has been gained through alchemy.

  • The description of Naphart Campsite’s pearl item and the effect description of the Campsite shop are now the same.

  • Changed the name of the set effect Gathering/Alchemy EXP +10% that you get by equipping [Shai] Curious Gatherer Classic Set and [Shai] Whimsical Alchemist Classic Set as follows.

  • Added the Owl Horn-rimmed Glasses that you can obtain with Shai in the [Event] Glasses Box.

  • In order to make “Florin Herb Gatherer Clothes”, you need “Design: Florin Herb Gatherer Clothes - Shai”.
    • You can receive “Design: Florin Herb Gatherer Clothes - Shai” as a reward by completing the “Life Saving Herb” quest from the NPC “Kunata Don” in Florin.
    • After completing the quest, you can buy the item from the Amity Shop of the Florin Armor Vendor “Zelfinith”.
  • Added a new quest through which you can obtain Florin Herb Gatherer Clothes’ design.
    • You can accept the new quest from the NPC “Kunata Don” in Florin.
    • This quest can be completed once per Family, and can be accepted by any character of Lv. 40 or above without any restrictions.

    • You cannot use this function either if there is an item that cannot stack challenge rewards or if there is an optional reward you can choose.
  • Added a text to the description of stating that you can obtain the item by heating the “apparel”.

  • Fixed the issue where the [Event] Old Moon Flare could not be used normally in certain regions.

  • Fixed the issue where a currently-inaccessible method to obtain the Spirit Crystal was written when searching the relevant item in the Crafting Notes.

  • Fixed the issue where Shai’s Crafted Costume was displayed abnormally in the crafting method of the Ancient Spirit’s Crystal.

Monster Changes
  • The Cyclops summoned by the “Retrieve a Sealing Stone” quest now starts fighting after the adventurer has completely examined the Black Portal.

  • Changed the attack style of the Ruins Guard Tower summoned by the Black Spirit’s quest.

  • The villagers drove out some of the grass beetles from the northern Olvia’s cow farm, decreasing the number of grass beetles.


Quests & Knowledge


Quest
  • Added the Terrmian Event quests to the New Quest window.

  • Fixed the issue where the Black Spirit was automatically summoned after accepting “The Ritual” quest.

  • Added a guide to the Black Spirit’s dialogue in the Main Quest Widget to make it easier to reach the next destination while progressing through “The Return” quest.

  • Changed the navigation location of the “Weird Devices” quest.

  • Unified all expressions that represent the Supply Port from the Star's End Adventure Journal II hints to Northwestern Calpheon Outpost Supply Port.

  • An alternative way to complete “The Message from Bobby Lauren” quest other than stealing is now available. You can either interact with the NPC or steal from NPC to complete the quest.

  • Changed the way through which you can accept the “[To Level 50!] Giant Catfishman Qoobe” quest from using the Summon Scroll to summoning the monster by interacting with the Dark Portal.

  • Changed the speed buff of “Footprint of the Wind”, which can be obtained as a reward for accepting a main quest, from 1 min to 3 min.
Developer's Comment
At the beginning of the game, you have no horse and must run wherever you go. Hence the Footprint of the Wind was a way of helping beginners to get used to the Black Desert World by allowing them to move quickly. We extended its effect duration to 3 min, reflecting the opinions that the old duration was too short.
Though it might be a minor change, we think such small parts of the game do matter too. We will continue doing patches that assist rookie adventurers in adapting to the game.
  • Changed the title of the “Leaping Over Rhutums Elites” quest to “Leaping Over the Ferocious Rhutums”.
    • Changed the quest title so that it matches the quest content in which you hunt the normal Rhutums rather than Rhutums Elites.


Knowledge
  • Changed the hint and the knowledge description of the [Guild] Sandy Ingot to sound clearer.


Interface Changes
  • The Occupying Guild Info UI is now displayed before the Area Information UI in the World Map (M).

  • Fixed the issue where incorrect information was displayed when there were more than 11 party members in a platoon.

  • No message concerning weight is displayed anymore when obtaining an item like the Silver, which has 0 weight.

  • Changed the main character of the Next Attendance Reward notice UI displayed when quitting the game to Shai.

  • When fishing, instead of the Space key guide, the changed Hotkey is now shown while you are trying to catch a fish.

  • Fixed the issue where you couldn’t see the working process of the worker even after selecting Worker from Settings → Performance Settings → NPC.

  • When buying a product with a purchase limit from the Pearl Shop (F3), the number of product will not exceed its purchase limit.

  • You can now normally close the Crafting Notes window with the ESC key when opening the Crafting Notes from the Equipment Enhancement window.

  • A message concerning durability is no longer displayed when selling a gear whose durability has not been repaired to the shop.

  • Fixed the issue where a system message concerning weight was displayed when selling items worth more than 500,000 Silver to the shop.

  • Added AP and DP limits to the description of Tier 1 Nodes where these limits are applied, when in a Node War on the World Map (M).

  • The mail title is no longer displayed beyond the UI area when reading a mail, even if the title length is too long.

  • From the Server Selection list and Server Change list, the following Server Status Icons’ colors were changed to more vivid ones.
    • The server is under maintenance, Arsha server, Olvia server, Server Change Restriction, Node/Conquest War in progress
    • In the case of ‘The server is under maintenance’ icon, its color was changed from blue to red.
  • Added sale periods to the details of the Pearl Shop (F3)’s LIMITED items.

  • The Stats names and levels from the Level Up window are now expressed more clearly.
    • Total accumulated amount of stats increased overall and the newly-obtained stats will be displayed together.
  • The Gathering UI is no longer displayed while on a mount, in order to fix the issue where you couldn’t get off of the mount due to your interaction with the item.

  • Deleted the text ‘The name of the creator will be deleted’ from the Reform Stone Inventory window.

  • The text ‘If the item is sold for 500,000 Silver or more, the money will be sent to Storage’ is no longer displayed when selling items to a merchant from a town with storage.

  • Fixed the issue where the Recovery level did not show the recovered result when recovering to max durability.

  • AP and DP increases are now shown in the Level Up Information Guide window.
    • These increases will be shown when achieving Lv. 56 for DP and Lv. 60 for AP.

  • The mouse wheel works more naturally now in the Level Up Information Guide windows’ skill list.

  • Fixed the issue where an empty text box appeared when trying to drag and attach a crystal to an equipment without any empty slots.

  • The processing completion message is no longer displayed when you fail the first processing.

  • The Level Up Information Guide window does not move anymore.

  • Changed the Pearl and Silver icons in the inventory.

  • AP and DP levels before and after leveling up are now displayed in the Level Up Information Guide.

  • Fixed the issue where the arrow on the right side of the category name disappeared when selecting the item list from the IOS mobile Central Market.

  • Added a function through which you can partially retrieve any goods you have pre-ordered or registered for sale in the Web Central Market.
    • Example: If you register 100 Instant HP Potions (Small) to sell and then retrieve 20 of them, 80 will remain registered.

  • Improved the time it took for the Central Market’s market price to be displayed in the item details.

  • Fixed the issue where the lower part of certain NPC’s Amity graph was cut when there were a large number of quests.

  • Fixed the issue where the fairy icon did not appear on the top left corner while in the Altar of Blood.

  • Fixed the graphical issue of the water near the Gervish Mountains in Remastered and Ultra Mode.


Resolved Issues
  • You can now use the following items which were temporarily blocked of use from July 12.
    • Combat EXP +10%
    • Skill EXP +5%

  • We are aware of the issue where an white outlining around the Sailboat or Frigate under sail would appear when the Transparent Mast option is turned on.

This week, the waterpark festival is back! Visit the Terrmian beach to find a lot of quests and minigames! New Loyal Attendance rewards are waiting for you and two new furniture at the effigy of Nouver and Kutum will be craftable. We also improved the auto-fishing by adding a new feature and we made changes to some Rage Absorption buffs.

Content
  • New furniture Nouver Statue and Kutum Lamp were added.
    • These new furniture, Kutum Lamp made of Kutum fragments and Nouver Statue made with the hide of Nouver, are interactive furniture where you receive a buff in exchange for their durability.
    • The maximum durability of Kutum Lamp and Nouver Statue is 10.
    • When you interact with these items, you will receive the below buffs for 2 hours.
      • Kutum Lamp: All AP +15, Ignore All Resistance +5%
      • Nouver Statue: All AP +15, All Resistance +5%
      • All AP +15 does not stack
        • The two buffs can be active at the same time, but the two AP boosts will not stack.

*These furniture can be made with Manufacture.
  • Interior Points for both Nouver Statue and Kutum Lamp is 200 points each.

    • You can use the Old Moon Sky Balloon Special Boarding Ticket with Altinova Old Moon Sky Balloon Manager Lisam and Terrmian Old Moon Sky Balloon Manager Momu to use the Old Moon Sky Balloon.
    • There are no Old Moon Sky Balloon routes to Calpheon and Valencia in Terrmian. Also, if you wish to travel to destinations other than Terrmian from Altinova, you have to purchase tickets with Black Stones as before.

  • Some zones had their escape points set somewhere too far from the zones, which took too much time and effort to return to, which in turn wasted buffs from food, elixirs, and villas. To resolve this, the following zones' escape point was changed to the zone's General Goods Vendor.

Developer’s Comment
We would have liked to announce that we've resolved all issues where characters get stuck in Hystria Ruins and other locations, but we require more time to do that. So with this patch, we've changed the location of where you are sent to when you escape to somewhere within the zone. As mentioned during Heidel Ball and our recent announcement, we know this is not a complete solution and we will keep working on it to resolve the issue.


Altar Blood

Developer’s Comment
Continuing the revamping of monster zones, this week we updated Hystria Ruins.
Adventurers have to prepare a certain level of equipment to enter Aakman Temple and Hystria Ruins and you must endure various obstacles, such as roaming the desert, so we think they should be more satisfactory for adventurers to conquer.
With this week's patch, Hystria Ruins is now more than twice its previous size, so now you can explore the area with ease.
The next location we're looking into is somewhat similar to the Hystria Ruins, the Hasrah Ancient Ruins.

Sorceress
  • Fixed the issue where the backside of the skirt moved unnaturally when the character ran while equipped with the Dahlia Nocturna Outfit.

  • Fixed the issue where the lower area looked awkward when the character walked backwards while equipped with the Bern Outfit.

  • Fixed the issue where the skirt’s backside was cut when equipping the Dahlia Nocturna Outfit and the Urugon Shoes at the same time.


Tamer
  • Fixed the issue where the Helmet was covered with the character’s hair when you selected Hair 5 after equipping the Puff Mini Helmet on.

  • Fixed the issue where the Cloak was too close to the character’s body compared to other characters when equipping the Snowflake Outfit.

  • Fixed the issue where you mounted your Heilang when moving items to your inventory.


Valkyrie
  • Fixed the issue where the character’s relevant body parts were displayed above the clothes when you equipped the fallen Garzar or Puff Mini Outfits after customizing Valkyrie’s thighs and arms too thick.

  • Fixed the issue where Magical Evasion was not triggered after using Detonative Flow when you shift from Awakening weapon to main weapon.

  • Fixed the issue where the character’s eyebrows were covered with the Coco Hat because it was worn too low.

  • Fixed the issue where the spot on her left cheek (preset 3) in customization (F4) was blurry.


Ninja
  • Fixed the issue where the character’s knees were erased when equipping the Akum Armor and the Muskan shoes together.

Shai
  • Changed the graphical effects of Florang using skills.

  • Temporary changes were made so that Shai cannot accept ‘My Little First Pony’ quest.
    • You will be able to accept the relevant quest when Shai becomes able to ride a horse after practice.
  • Changes were made so that the Santa Hat’s Dye Slot is displayed normally.

  • Fixed the issue where the EXP was applied abnormally when transferring Shai’s Alchemy/Gathering Life EXP to another character or transferring those Life EXPs from another character to Shai.
    • This will also apply retroactively for those who have already transferred EXP previously.
  • Fixed the issue where you could not accept one of the ‘Black Spirit's Gift (Inventory Slot and Black Stones)’ quests while progressing through the main quests ‘[Crossroad] The Lamenting Head of the League of Merchants’ and ‘[Crossroad] Each of Their Reasons’ with Shai.

  • Improvements were made so that Shai’s standby motions look more natural when using the Donkey’s “Just Chillin'” skill.

    The above buffs are also displayed as 2 separate icons, but Attack Speed buffs are not stacked. Therefore, the higher stat buff, the Attack Speed buff from Rage Absorption, is the only one applied.
Developer’s Comment
With this week's update, the most powerful of the Rage Absorption buffs, crit. increase, was changed to be stackable.
Now when you have a stackable Rage Absorption buff active and you receive another buff with the same effect, an additional icon will be displayed to show it.
However, please note that if you have a non stackable Rage Absorption buff active and you receive another buff with the same effect, you will still see another icon, but the effects will not be stacked.


Monster Changes
  • Fixed Giath to not display its name during the animation where it rips out of the Dark Rift.

  • Fixed the bosses from Dark Rifts to not attack characters under level 55 before being hit.

  • Fixed the issue where Red Foot Assassin’s monster underwear was displayed abnormally.

  • Doubled the time that it took a monster from the Aakman Temple’s upper area to reappear after dying and placed additional monsters.

  • Decreased the number of monsters from some of the Aakman Temple’s lowest areas.
Developer’s Comment
We ran the event that reduced monster respawn rate in Aakman Temple for a few weeks, which many adventurers enjoyed. And last month, we patched each of the “rooms” so that they each have different spawn times and to have similar efficiency in monster hunting. However, some rooms had too many monsters spawning, so we had to tweak either the number of monsters or their respawn times.


Quests & Knowledge


Quest
  • The completion NPC for the "[Awakening] Artifacts of the Naga" quest will not disappear right after completing the quest anymore, and the completion dialogue has been fixed to be more natural.

  • The body of the naga near the relic at the Extraction Mill will not sink into the ground anymore when you touch it.

  • The completion NPC for the "Atonement" quest will not disappear right after completing the quest anymore.

  • Content was added to the description of the "Torenandu's Declaration of War" quest to help understand the quest better.

  • Navigation path was improved so that you can easily climb the altar for the "[Awakening] Wizard's Altar" quest.

  • Quest NPC for the "Leaping Over Rhutums Elites" quest was changed from Elinke Visamin to the soldier standing on the right of Elinke Visamin.

  • Updated the quest completion description and quest location for "The Story of the Hero Borne Upon the Winds" quest so you can eavesdrop more easily.

  • Quest completion goal and dialogue was changed for the "Encarotia's Signal" quest to make it feel more natural.

  • Fixed the quest requirement for some main quests to display the correct information in the Quest List (O).

  • Quest completion goal and dialogue was changed for the "Curiosity Becomes Fear" quest to make it feel more natural.

  • More Xian Merchant Guild supplies will arrive to help complete "The Emotional Supply" quest.


Knowledge
  • Fixed the issue where some quests were shown as requiring knowledge when you go through the Awakening quest of a class you have already acquired Awakening knowledge for.

  • If you already have the Awakening knowledge, it will not be displayed as required in the quest list.

  • Fixed the issue where you could buy a knowledge that was already bought from an NPC.


Interface Changes
  • Fixed the issue where Shai's reflections were unnatural in the Pearl Shop (F3).

  • Now you cannot click the skip animation button during the animation of equipment enhancement, Caphras enhancement, and Devour.

  • Fixed the issue where the message to load temporary customization save file popped up even when you closed the customization (F4) menu.

  • Fixed the issue where the scroll bar continued to scroll down when you select screen resolution in the settings.

  • Fixed the issue where text was displayed abnormally in the UI when automatically shortened.

  • Fixed the issue where font change was not applied to a deleted or a newly created chat window.

  • Fixed the issue where the camera did not properly focus when you zoom in to your character's face with the Depth of Field option on in remastered or ultra mode.

  • Fixed the issue where the amount of silver you have in the Central Market storage did not display minus numbers between 0 and -1000.

  • Added an option in the Knowledge (H) menu to toggle the knowledge information displayed next to monster names.
    This can be toggled in the Knowledge (H) menu and is turned off by default.

Developer’s Comment
It is always a pleasant surprise when you acquire S knowledge from monsters you meet everyday. Some even make this their goal to collect all S knowledge. However, it was always a hassle to search the knowledge menu to see what knowledge you have for each of the monsters.
With this week's patch, you can now see them next to the monster's name. However, since it could be misunderstood by new players as the monster's grade or level, the feature is turned off by default.
  • Added a bookmark feature to the Adventure Log.
    • Each page of the log can be bookmarked. Simply click to activate it after opening up a log.
    • The log opens to the bookmarked page.
    • Only one page per log can be bookmarked.
  • New level up information menu was added.
    • This window shows your increased HP, skill resource, weight, learned skill, and learnable skills.
    • The level up information window can be hidden by pressing the ESC key.
    • The window is closed when you press the X button on the top right of the window.
    • Toggle to hide/show the level up window with the button on the left of the information window.
  • Added a button in the old and new ESC menu that links you to the official website homepage.
    • Pressing the button will open the official homepage on a web browser.
  • Fixed the issue where the Mirumok Ruins Entrance was displayed unnaturally in the minimap.

  • Fixed the issue where the hotkey was displayed abnormally when checking the quest summary of ‘Profitable Information’ in the minimap.

  • Changes were made so that the warning message of any nearby strong monster is not displayed before level 10.

  • Fixed the issue where the Knowledge (Ecology) On/Off UI went upwards when entering the Knowledge (H) Window.

  • Party/platoon members and guild members now have different icons displayed on the minimap.

Altar of Blood

Developer's Comment
As announced at the Heidel Ball, Altar of Blood is a 3 player party defense mode.
After its introduction at the Global Lab, many adventurers gave various feedback on the Altar of Blood. Many found the use of their own characters and skills to be positive, which allowed for a variety of co-op strategies.
There were also feedback on the difficulty of the mode, questions on what will happen to the Altar of Training, and many others. We will continue to better the mode based on the precious feedback you send our way.
We plan to add a more variety of PVE content, like the Altar of Blood. Currently, one of the only places where you can make use of a fully geared character is out in the field fighting monsters. We aim to add more places for you to feel the satisfaction of making use of your hard earned gear.
  • According to records, the Altar of Blood is where sacrificial rituals to Kzarka were performed in ancient times, but was never seen again after it was sealed with the Gem of Balance.

  • However, Yaz and Orwen of the Secret Guards discovered the last traces of Caphras, the immortal alchemist, in the rubble of a house in Star's End, which in turn led to the uncovering of the secret altar that was hidden within the ash fog of the Blackstar.

  • You can enter the Altar of Blood after completing the "[Lv. 56] The Altar of Blood at Star's End" quest line from the Black Spirit with a character at or above level 56.
    • (You can find the quest in the suggested quests from the Black Spirit after activating the Combat quest filter)
  • The Altar of Blood is a 3 player party mode where you need to coordinate with each other to defend the relic from monsters charging in from all directions.
  • You can also enter the Altar of Blood through matchmaking, which will match you with other random players on the same server.
    • In order to join the Altar of Blood without forming a party beforehand, simply click on the button in the ESC menu or pop-up banner to enter the Altar of Blood and you will be randomly matched into a party with 2 other adventurers.
    • Please note there may be some waiting time for you to be matched into a party.


Altar of Blood Rules
  • The party leader can press the Enter button in the ESC menu to enter the Altar of Blood.


  • Party leader may be changed depending on the order of entrance (you can appoint party leader to anyone after entering the altar).

  • After entry, the party leader can choose which stage to start with.


  • You cannot exit the party in the Altar of Blood. (If you are forced to leave the party due to disconnection, you will exit the Altar of Blood).

  • When the party leader chooses the stage, 100 Energy is consumed and an NPC will appear.

  • Talk to the NPC in the middle to activate the blood relic, which will consume 20 additional Energy.

  • Upon activation, monsters will appear and attack the relic and your party must defend it.


  • Note that you will take massive damage when you venture too close to the Black Portals.

  • You can resurrect only via the resurrection skill of Witch/Wizard or the Medical Kit if you die in the Altar of Blood.

  • All character HP will recover and all dead characters will be resurrected when the boss is defeated.

  • Once the boss appears, the relic can no longer be damaged.


  • Defeating a boss will grant you the knowledge of the cleared illusion, which you need to progress to the next one.

  • When all three players die, the illusion stage is considered a failure and reset with all monsters gone and players are resurrected with full HP. Here, the party leader will see the menu to choose the stage.

  • You cannot use the Campsite, Maid/Butler, World Map, Quest UI, nor the Minimap UI in the Altar of Blood.

  • You cannot gain any Combat EXP nor Skill EXP by defeating monsters in the Altar of Blood.

  • Item Drop Amount/Rate Increase effects are not applied in the Altar of Blood.

  • With this week's release, you can progress up to the 10th illusion. Once you clear the 10th illusion, you will automatically exit the Altar of Blood. More stages will be added with future updates.


Altar of Blood Rewards
  • You can acquire the corresponding Heritage of the Forgotten by defeating the bosses of each of the illusions.

  • You have a very low chance to acquire the following defense gear boxes by using the Heritage of the Forgotten.


  • The type of item you receive depends on the grade of the defense gear box.


  • You can obtain better items the higher the stage you clear.

  • New Altar of Blood exclusive items were added.
    • Flare of the Ancients, Dim Origin of Clear Water, Dim Origin of the Crimson Flame, and Dim Origin of Earth.
  • Flare of the Ancients is effective only in the Altar of Blood.

  • All monsters within range will be stunned when the Flare of the Ancients is used.

  • Certain monsters or boss monsters of each stage are immune to Stun effect.
  • Added the Altar of Blood rankings page.

  • Boltz of Calpheon was fixed to act more naturally to fit his environment.

  • Changed the condition to talk to Vitheons Belucci at the Calpheon College to first meet with Siena Volaire.

  • Exchange information for the Dew of Tranquil Forest was added to Herbin.


Mounts
  • Fixed the issue where you sometimes could not move on a mount after disabling underwear view mode.

  • Fixed the issue where you could not get off your mount and instead interact with the nearby NPC by pressing R while on a mount.
    • Now you can press S+R to get off the mount and not interact with an NPC.
    • Wild horses can only use this function after it is registered at a stable.
Developer’s Comment
When we announced that we would add the function to interact with NPCs while on mounts, many adventurers welcomed the idea.
However, after implementing the function, we received numerous feedback that it is difficult to maneuver mounts when the get on/off mount and the interact key are the same.
To resolve this issue and maintain the intention of the patch, we decided to add a command for getting off the mount.
We thank every one of you who gave us feedback on this.
  • Fixed the issue where you could no longer call your wagon once you activate a Trainer’s Flute.

Developer’s Comment
This week's Kunoichi update is based on the feedback you gave us, improving skill combos to increase efficiency in both PvE and PvP situations. Of course, we could've just increased the damage of each skill, but we decided it would be better in the long run to help players better their playability instead. We will continue to monitor collected data to adjust the stats and hope that this will be meaningful to Kunoichi players.
And of course, we will continue to adjust the balance of other characters as well.

  • Fixed the issue where the effects of Cheer Up! and Get Well were not applied to party or platoon members during fights against world bosses.

  • Added animations for when NPCs and other adventurers bump into you while you stand still.

  • Directional changes when sprinting, by pressing Shift or RMB, during auto move is now more fluid.

  • Now you can get right on your mount while moving forward (W) in combat mode.

  • Changed the graphic effect of when Shai has all Florin leaf energy available for use.

  • Fixed the issue where Come Out, Come Out sometimes could not find concealed enemy adventurers.

Developer’s Comment
The Cron Meals were added as a higher class food items to lessen the hassle of using multiple items at a time. However, many adventurers did not use them because their effects were not better than using multiple items. To resolve this, we've improved the effects of the meals to fit their intended use.
  • Health EXP from all Cron Meals was increased.

  • Campsite buffs purchasable from campsite shops are now combined into one.
    • [Camp] Ancient Grindstone, [Camp] Combat Technique, [Camp] Desert Adaptation
    • → Combined to [Camp] Adventurer's Confidence.

  • [Camp] Adventurer's Confidence's buff effect now lasts 90 minutes.

Quest

  • Changed the text displayed when you try to interact at the top of Cron Castle without the quest item during the "Memorial Service for the Fallen People" quest.
    • It now says you can get the quest item again from the same NPC.
  • Changed the Mad Wolf summoned during the "Do or Die" quest to not summon baby wolves.

  • The Ghost of Ash Forest sensed something more powerful coming to Ash Forest and moved to a nearby location.

  • The quest area of the "Breath of the Ashen Dead" quest was changed to reflect the above.

  • Fixed the issue where the Black Spirit was automatically summoned after completing the "Human Calculator" quest.

  • Fixed the issue where a player who chose the option B during the crossroads quest had to talk to Geoffrey Erne after completing "The Gift of Calpheon" quest instead of being able to accept the "Encarotia's Signal" quest right away.
    • Players who chose option B can accept the next quest just like those who chose options A and C.
  • Arenda of Shakatu will now remember all the amity you've accumulated through her quest line even when she becomes younger.
    • A new quest "Arenda's Gratitude" was added with amity points as reward.


Knowledge

  • Added knowledge of Herbin, who exchanges Dew of Tranquil Forest for Asula's Weakened Magic accessories.

  • With the revamp of Mediah quests, the following knowledges are now obtainable.
    • You can receive knowledges from the below NPCs by talking to them even if you’ve already completed the quests.
  • All adventurers who have not completed the above quests will receive the knowledges as rewards when you complete them.

Developer’s Comment
So far, the buff list was just divided into buffs and debuffs, which was difficult to read when there were too many. Many of you requested this improved and we promised we would do so at the Heidel Ball.
Now the buff list is divided into three parts; buffs given by items, buffs cast by characters, and debuffs. Also, buffs that can be combined into a group, such as Cron Meals, will be displayed as a single icon. For instance, Warrior's Executioner previously created 7 icons, but will now be displayed as a single Executioner icon.


Known Issues
  • We are aware of the issue that Shai cannot receive one of the Black Spirit's Gift (Inventory Slot and Black Stones) quests when selecting A ([Crossroad] The Lamenting Head of the League of Merchants) and C ([Crossroad] Each of Their Reasons) for the main crossroad quest. This will be fixed in next week’s patch.

  • We are aware of the issue where Guild Elephants cannot be called while having a Trainer's Flute activated. We will have this fixed with an upcoming patch.
