Greetings Adventurers,

The wait is over and Season Servers have arrived to the world of Black Desert Online! Starting today you will be able to level up and develop a new Season Character in these special servers. During this Summer Season, you will be able to acquire new gear that can even be converted to regular gear once the season is over. Don't miss the opportunity to take part in this new content, as the Summer Season will last only a few months!

Also, for our horse trainers, we bring you a quality of life change that many of you have been requesting for a long time: Success chances will now be displayed when you are trying to acquire a Dream Horse!

Season Server Launch Events
- Event 1: Summer Season Playtime Challenge
  - Period: June 18 (00:00 UTC)–July 29 (23:59 UTC)
  - Play daily with your Season Character and get [Event] Summer Season Commemorative Coin from the Challenge tab (Y) based on your accumulated playtime during the event period.
- Event 2: Leveling Aid Challenge
  - Period: June 18 (00:00 UTC)–July 1 (before maintenance)
  - Simply log in with your Season Character during the event period and receive the following boosts like Mercenary's Experience (60 min) and Mercenary's Experience (120 min).
- Event 3: Get Refined Magical Black Stones
  - Period: June 18 (00:00 UTC)–July 15 (before maintenance)
  - Simply log in with your Season Character during the event period and receive Refined Magical Black Stones each day.
- Event 4: Hot Summer Time

  - Enjoy an additional boost of Combat EXP +250% and Skill EXP + 25% during Hot Time hours!
- Event 5: Time-filled Mysterious Knight

  - During the event period, Mysterious Knight will randomly appear all over the world of Black Desert Online. Simply Interact (R) with the NPC to get Combat EXP +100%, Skill EXP +100%, and Item Drop Rate +10% for 180 minutes.

Major Update: Season Server

We are excited to open up the season servers for the first time. We hope that our efforts will help many of you, especially our new adventurers, find your footing in the world of Black Desert Online.

We designed the season servers with three objectives in mind.

First and foremost, we wanted to keep things challenging enough to not make the progress feel empty. We especially focused on the gear available in the season servers, because getting good gear is an aspect we felt was one of the hardest challenges in our game. Therefore, we included season server exclusive "Tuvala" gear as well as special black stones. The Tuvala gear was designed to be par with the coveted "boss" gear while being easier to get and enhance. Easier, but not easy. We hope that you still can come to master this system that is so fundamental to our game.

The second thing we wanted to focus on giving you a feeling of excitement that this kind of seasonal content could bring. Seasons servers, as you might be able to tell from the name, will be seasonal. Every season, you must create a new character and start anew. This is why we made certain limitations on what season characters can and cannot do so that each season feels more like a fresh start, with your character unable to enjoy certain benefits from having a more advanced family in the regular servers like inheriting their gear or riding dream horses.

Lastly, we wanted to make the transition from the season to regular servers when the season ends as smooth as possible. Over the years, there has been so much content building up in our game. This has been both a blessing and a curse. We cannot hope to prepare you for everything, but by focusing on helping season characters get easier access to better gear, we hope that when these characters transition into the regular servers, they will at least have an easier time with the combat-related content of our game. We are also planning on more ways to help our first batch of season server "graduates" acclimate to the regular servers.

We want to keep servicing Black Desert Online, a game we love deeply, for a long, long time. As we do this, we want to preserve the gains made from hard work while bridging gaps. We don't expect to have perfected this approach to the season servers on our first try, but we promise to keep an eye out so we can make further improvements for you.

Summer has arrived in the season servers.
- Only season characters can access the season servers.
- Season characters can only access the season servers for one season. For example, if you create a character during the "summer" season it loses access to the season servers come autumn.
- These servers are open to season characters of any level, who can enjoy EXP boosts 24/7.
- Season characters can only equip certain gear. You can tell which gear they can equip by a yellow icon (see image below).
- Season characters cannot accept the "[EXC] Better Weapon" quests.

Added season server exclusive "Tuvala" gear.
Added Time-filled Black Stones and Refined Magical Black Stone, which are items for enhancing Tuvala gear.
Added Fughar, a season server exclusive NPC who will be located next to the Stable Keepers in large towns including Velia.
Added Summer Season Challenges for the season servers.
Added the following season character exclusive weekly quests for defeating monsters.
- You can accept and complete one of the following quests each week.
- You can find the quests under the "[Season] Even Stronger Tuvala Gear" tab in the Quests (O) window.
- These quests are available once per family.
- Added the following season character exclusive quests to do after completing the Valencia, Kamasylvia, or Drieghan main quests in the season server.
  - These quests are available once per family.
  - You can accept the quests from the Black Spirit.
- Added Tuvala Ores, which can be exchanged for weapons.
  - You can get Tuvala Ores by defeating monsters in Valencia, Kamasylvia, Drieghan, and Sycraia
  - Underwater Ruins or through processing Tuvala gear.
  - Use Heating in the Processing window (L) on a Tuvala accessory to get Tuvala Ore x5.
  - Use Heating in the Processing window (L) on Tuvala gear (excluding accessories) to get Tuvala Ore x1.

Your character will now make a cheering motion when getting Mass of Pure Magic.
Added text to the description of J's Special Scroll explaining that this item's effects are applied in monster zones recommended for parties.
Fixed the text about the effects of eating the following mushrooms to be more accurate.

[h2]Monster Changes[/h2]

Reduced the height of the Sealing Stone in front of World Boss Vell, decreasing the size of Vell's Realm.
- This means ships can get closer to Vell before attacking. However, don't throw your caution overboard and enter Vell's Realm at your own risk!

Under Kunga of the Shultz Guard, the Shultz Guard has strengthened their defenses.
- Their AP and DP have increased, and the loot for defeating them has been adjusted thusly.
- The recommended AP for the Shultz Guard monster zone is now 240.
- Kunga will appear at a certain rate while you are fighting the Shultz Guard.
- Only one type of armor fragment junk item will drop at this monster zone.
  Increased the Agris Fever points consumed while defeating monsters at the Shultz Guard monster zone from 1 to 3.

Reduced the time it takes for the following to respawn.
- Cron Castle Barracks that are needed to complete quests
- Certain structures and Al Rhundi's soldiers at the Castle Ruins
- Harpies and harpy warriors at Delphe Knights Castle

Increased the number of Cron Castle Barracks that spawns at a time.

[h2]Interface Changes[/h2]

Added more stats tracking the success rate of awakening a Dream Horse to the Courser Training window.
Updated the Arena of Arsha UI.
Fixed the issue where it appeared as if there was no Silver in the storage when trying to collect wages from guild missions right after connecting to the game.
If the Blacksmith's Secret Book or Devour tab of the Enhancement window is open before the Enhancement window is closed, when you open the window again you will see the same tab you were using before the window was closed.
You can now use the item Fairy's Blessing via the Enhancement window.
Fixed the issue where an unfunctional button appeared on the upper right side of the Photo Gallery window when it was maximized.
It will now be possible to see an item's enhancement stats and grade in the Item Exchange window via its mouseover tooltip.
Improved the alert that appears when a ship gear does not have enough durability by making the alert more specific.
Fixed the issue where the outline indicating which character you are currently playing in the End Game window did not display correctly.
Fixed the issue where clicking on the icons without possessing a pet, fairy, maid, or butler did not lead you to the relevant BDO wiki page.

[h2]Resolved Issues[/h2]

[Valkyrie] Fixed the issue where after using Death Line Chase to move backward while Shield Chase III is on cooldown, using any Shield Chase again caused weapons and skills to act abnormally.

Fixed the issue where a wrong item was mentioned in the descriptions of the following items.

Fixed the issue where the wrong graphical effect appeared when using Rage Absorption (Common).
Fixed the graphical issues with certain structures in the following areas.

Fixed the issue where characters would get buried in certain parts of the Altinova Area.
Fixed the issue where the minimap did not display certain areas of Cron Castle Site correctly.
Fixed the issue where characters would make swimming motions in certain areas of the Sycraia Upper Zone.
Fixed the issue where swimwear would not be displayed in your residence even after pressing the View Underwear button on the upper part of your screen.
Changed the message that appears when trying to use Valks' Cry when the Valks Enhancement Chance is already +10 as follows.
Fixed the issue where your settings under Settings > Sound Effects did not affect the introductory video that appears when logging into a Lv. 1 character, or to the sound effects of certain UI.
Fixed the issue where the camera perspective was abnormal when taking a high-resolution screenshot.

[h2]Known Issues[/h2]

Due to a technical issue, the Hot Summer Time boost will be missing for Monday, June 22 in our NA region. Therefore, we have planned compensation for the NA region. We apologize for the inconvenience. Please find the details < Here >.
We are aware of the issue where you cannot access the full versions of text that have been cut short in the Chat Group window with ellipses.
- This issue is expected to be fixed with the June 24 maintenance.

We are aware of the issue where completing the challenge [Equipping Tuvala Adventure Gear I] gives you 1 Tuvala Ore instead of 40 Tuvala Ores with the Black Spirit Pass activated.
- Adventurers who have reached and completed this challenge will receive the missing 39 Tuvala Ores via their in-game mailbox with June 24th maintenance.
- This issue will be resolved with June 24th maintenance. We apologize for the inconvenience."

Season Servers Guide - Summer Season begins June 17th!

Take a sneak peek at Season Servers that are coming on June 17th!

The very first season will be called 'Summer Season' and here, you can learn how you can enjoy exclusive benefits with your Season Characters!

[h3]What are Season Servers?[/h3]

Season Servers are focused on character growth.

Season Servers are not limited to specific adventurers. That is, the Season Servers can be accessed by all adventurers. Everyone can enjoy the benefits!

Unlike the Olvia servers which provided benefits to the entire Family, the key difference of the Season Servers is that it provides benefits specifically to the individual character.

Therefore, you need to create a Season Character in order to enjoy the benefits of the Season Servers.

If you feel unsure about which class to choose for your Season Character, don't forget that you can create Trial Characters to test out all skills including Awakening and Succession skills, so try a class out before creating your Season Character!

Choose one of the Season Servers in the 'Select Server' screen, then try creating a Season Character! (During pre-creation period, you will be able to create Season Characters in any server)

*Forced PvP is not possible in the Season Servers. Season Arsha Server, a server that will allow players to engage in forced PvP, will be available within a month after Season Servers are opened.

[h3]Creating a Season Character[/h3]

Only Season Characters can enter the Season Servers, therefore you must first create a Season Character.

You can create a Season Character through the "Create Season Character" button in the character creation window.

Once you have created a Season Character, you will see a special mark in the character selection window which shows you that the character is a Season Character.

Only Season Characters can enter the Season Servers, so make sure you create a Season Character to enter the Season Servers!

As long as you have empty character slots available, any adventurer can create a Season Character.

[h3]After Entering Season Server[/h3]

Are you ready for a new adventure in the fast lane?

You can always press (,) to call out the Black Spirit who will guide you through your adventures in the Season Servers, but the biggest benefit you can enjoy is the EXP boost running 24/7 on Season Servers.

Season Servers will always offer Combat EXP +100% and Skill EXP +20% buff. Also, there are no level restrictions for receiving the EXP buff.

As long as the Season Servers are up and running, your Season Character will receive the EXP buff!

[h3]Summer Season Challenges[/h3]

Go through the main quests offered by the Black Spirit and you will see your character level up fast.

But every Season Character is also given a Season Pass or a free entrance to try and complete various Summer Season Challenges for more rewards.

When you reach Lv. 10 for example, you will also see a flickering Black Spirit mark on the top right corner of your main game screen (left of minimap).

Click on it and see that you will have claimed Leveling Aid Boxes which will give you so various items and instant buffs for opening.
By purchasing the Black Spirit Pass from the Pearl Shop (F3), you will also be able to receive additional benefits for reaching the same Summer Season Challenge.

There's more to the Summer Season Challenges then reaching a certain level, so be sure to check it out after the Summer Season opens.

[h3]Main Quests[/h3]

Open up the World Map (M) now and see the vast world of Black Desert Online for you to explore.

Through the main quests you can discover the history and stories big and small of Balenos, Serendia, Calpheon, Mediah and so on. You will also learn about the triumphs and disasters of NPCs you meet along the way.

You can always check the "Main Quest" tab under the Quest window (O) to see your progress.

[h3]Your New Best Friend: Fughar[/h3]

Fughar is a Season Server exclusive NPC who will be located next to the Stable Keepers in large towns including Velia.

Fughar offers special daily quests for 40 days for your Season Character to tackle and complete to learn the know-how on adjusting to the gameplay of BDO fast and also receive items to help in your growth.

In addition, complete the main quests in Balenos, Serendia, Calpheon, and Mediah and go see Fughar to receive [Season] Secret Book of the Misty Breeze which will give you plenty of Skill EXP!

Finally once you complete the final quest, you will receive Advice of Valks (+100) from Fughar after the Season Server ends, and also be able to select either a PEN (V) Capotia Earring or a PEN (V) Capotia Ring.

We advise you to go see Fughar every day!

[h3]Rent Gear with Contribution Points[/h3]

As you complete the main quests offered by the Black Spirit through Balenos, Serendia, and Calpheon, you will have obtained Contribution Points. With Contribution Points you can rent powerful gear to get stronger and make a name for yourself.

[h3]Season Server Exclusive Gear: Tuvala[/h3]

Season Characters are limited to equipping the following three types of gear.

Gear obtained through main quest rewards
Gear obtained through loot from defeating monsters
Season Server exclusive gear: Tuvala

If you felt the deserted lands of Mediah weretoo challenging, try equipping Tuvala gear.

Only Season Characters can use Tuvala gear, and to get Tuvala gear you will need Tuvala Ores. You can get Tuvala Ores by defeating monsters in Valencia, Kamasylvia, Drieghan, and Sycraia Underwater Ruins.

When you have collected enough, you can take your Tuvala Ores to blacksmiths to exchange them for weapons, defense gear, or accessories. Blacksmiths NPCs can be found in most large towns.

You can use the Storage or the Central Market warehouse to move Tuvala gear to a different character, but only Season Characters can equip them.

However, once the Season is over, the Season character will be turned into a normal character, and the Season gear will be turned into regular, family-bound gear. This means you can hand over the gear to any character in your in-game family but not to a character outside your family.

In addition, you can enhance Tuvala gear to make them better.

Tuvala gears have a higher enhancement chance so try using the Time-filled Black Stones and Refined Magical Black Stone obtained from daily quests from NPC Fughar to enhance your Tuvala gear or obtained from defeating monsters.

Enhancing Tuvala gear to at least enhancement level +7 has a 100% success rate. Therefore, you can enhance up to that point with a peace of mind. After that point though, there is a chance your enhancement attempt will fail and the Max Durability of your item will go down.

If the durability of the Tuvala gear goes down if your enhancement attempt fails, go see a blacksmith to recover the Max durability of your gear and try again.

[h3]Awakening and Succession[/h3]

Have you reached Lv. 56 already?

Then accept and complete the Awakening quest recommended by the Black Spirit and try equipping Awakening weapons and perform Awakening skills!

Do you like main skills more than the Awakening skills? Then complete Succession quests to enjoy a stronger set of main skills. One thing to note is you can only try Succession quests after you have completed the Awakening quests.

We highly recommend you try both Awakening and Succession to experience a new way to enjoy your gameplay.

[h3]Get Materials from Valencia[/h3]

Once you have tried Awakening or Succession and continue on with your adventure following the main questline, you will find yourself located in the vast desert area of Valencia.

If you had to obtain enhancement materials for enhancing Tuvala gear via Fughar's daily quests until now, you will also be able to get these same materials by defeating monsters in regions like Valencia and regions you will get to explore from then on such as Kamasylvia, Drieghan, and Sycraia Underwater Ruins.

It's time to really start enhancing Tuvala gear.

Main Materials

AP of Areas that give more Tuvala Enhancement Materials

(Note all areas in Valencia, Kamasylvia, Drieghan, Sycraia Underwater Ruins will drop Tuvala enhancement materials)

[h3]Enhancement Gear for Advice of Valks[/h3]

If you equip TRI (III) and TET (IV) grade gear (Helmet, Armor, Gloves, Shoes, Main Weapon, Sub-weapon, Awakening Weapon), excluding accessories and go see NPC Fughar, you will be able to complete another type of quests which will grant your Advice of Valks items.

If you have 7 TRI (III) Tuvala gear equipped, you will get 7 Advice of Valks +40 items!

This Advice of Valks items given for having equipped various Tuvala gears is only offered once per family for your Season Character during the Summer Season period, so please make sure to complete it before the season ends!

When you reach level 60 and 61 with your Season Character, you will receive PEN (V) Tuvala Ring and PEN (V) Tuvala Earring via Summer Season Challenges so don't be lazy in leveling up either.

[h2]Graduation - A New Start[/h2]

Our journey together does not end when the Summer Season ends. Your true story begins after your 'Graduation' from the Summer Season.

[h3]Graduation Benefits[/h3]

1) Convert Season Character/Gear to Regular Servers!

Your Season Character will be turned into a normal character. Therefore, the character can no longer access the Season Server. The character will remain at the same level and keep their gear.

Any Tuvala gear your character has will retain its enhancement level but it will no longer be possible to enhance it. The character will also get to keep only one of each type of Tuvala gear, the one that was enhanced to the highest level. Do note that the Tuvala gear will become family-bound.

2) Get a Graduation Gift Box!

For those who have enjoyed the Summer Season, you will receive some graduation-themed keepsakes at the end.

These include Graduation Certificate, Graduation Cap, Graduation Emoji, and Graduation Gift Box.

You can use the Graduation Certificate to convert your season exclusive gear, Graduation Cap to dress up your character and use the free emojis when chatting. Finally, the Graduation Gift Box is like a care package of useful items to help your character get adjusted to life outside the Season Server.

3) Fughar has a special gift for you!

If you had completed all 40 daily quests from Fughar before the Summer Season ends, you will receive Advice of Valks (+100) from and also be able to select either a PEN (V) Capotia Earring or a PEN (V) Capotia Ring.

4) Exchange Season Gear with Boss Gear!

Take the Graduation Certificate to a certain NPC to exchange a piece of Tuvala weapon or defense gear with a boss weapon or gear of comparable stats. This means that the boss gear will be one enhancement level lower than the Tuvala gear.

For example, you can exchange a PEN: Tuvala Longsword for a TET: Kzarka Longsword, or a TET: Tuvala Shoes for TRI: Muskan's Shoes.

Patch Notes - June 10th 2020

Greetings Adventurers,

Summer is almost here in the world of Black Desert Online, so we are preparing some events to help you welcome in these warm months of the year.

First of all, acquire Fughar's Lost Crystal Shards when defeating monsters on regular servers, which you will be able to exchange for special Black Stones that you will need to enhance the Season Server exclusive "Tuvala" gear. Take advantage of this event to give your Season Character a boost when Season Servers are live!

Secondly, the great hunter Jimmy Brooks is visiting the major towns of the continent, and he is looking for the bravest adventurers to complete special quests. Once you complete these quests you will be awarded with Sharp Black Crystal Shards and Hard Black Crystal Shards.

Waiting for Summer
- Period: June 10 (after maintenance)–Until Season Server Launch (exact date to be announced)
- NPC Fughar will be a good friend to help you in your adventures in the Summer Season. Collect Fughar's Lost Crystal Shard during this pre-launch period, and exchange the item with NPC Fughar for Time-filled Black Stones!

Track Down Jimmy Brooks
- Period: June 10 (after maintenance)–June 24 (before maintenance)
- The great hunter Jimmy Brooks of Behr is rounding off his long journey by visiting the major towns of the continent. Track him down for the following quests, which can be accepted once a day.
  - After you have enough Hunter's Seals you can turn them into complete the quest and get a certain number of Sharp Black Crystal Shards or Hard Black Crystal Shards.
  - Event quests will reset daily at 00:00 UTC and can only be completed once per family per day.

You can now make the following barters after using the Ship Material Refresh function if you have a certain accumulated barter count.
Fixed the issue where it was possible to barter Brilliant Rock Salt Ingot or Brilliant Pearl Shard for more items than intended.
Barters exchanging Crow Coins for the following items will now appear at a low rate during ship material barter.
- Golden Galley Figurine
- Golden Turtle Shell
- Obsidian Crystal Bracelet
- Elaborate Pearl Necklace
- Gilded Coral
  - Since there were two items called Golden Coral, the one used in bartering has been renamed "Gilded Coral."

Changed the stats of the Velia Tribute Wagon and Heidel Tribute Wagon that depart 2 hours before the start of Conquest Wars as follows.

Toggling off Agris Fever point consumption will now take into effect immediately.
