[NA/EU] Patch Notes Summary - May 18, 2022

Greetings Adventurers,

Here are the latest update details for Black Desert Online on May 18, 2022 (Wed).
Mythical Diné
The dream horse, Mythical Diné, comes galloping across the waters! You can obtain a Mythical Diné via Mythical Awakening, and this legendary steed comes with its own unique skills such as Quicksilver, Triple Jump, and Protection of Okiara.
When we last revealed this mythical steed, many of our Adventurers displayed concern that it seemed to lack its signature horn. We are happy to report that Mythical Diné will be released with horn and all intact.
* Mythical Diné can utilize skills such as Drift, Instant Accel, and S: Instant Accel while maintaining high speeds to gallop across water for up to 15 seconds, which is around the time it would take to travel between two closely placed islands.
You require the Breath of Okiara to mount up on and move with a Mythical Diné standing on water, so use this resource wisely.

● Added a new dream horse available through Mythical Awakening, the Mythical Diné.
- Stable your Dinés with Gula, stable keeper of Stonetail Horse Ranch, to attempt Mythical Awakening.
- You will need one male and one female Diné, both at Lv. 30.
- Use the Mythical Censer to attempt Mythical Awakening which has a fixed success rate of 3%.
- A successful Mythical Awakening will see both Dinés reborn into one Diné of "Mythical" grade.
- If you fail, the 2 Dinés can be recovered at any time, and you can use the Mythical Censer to try again.
- A newborn Mythical Diné will have the inherent skills of both Diné and a Mythical Horse.
- Inherent skills will be at 100% mastery, and will not disappear even if you reset the horse's growth.
- Mythical Diné's base stats (HP, stamina, speed, accel, turn, brake, etc.) will be similar to a normal Diné. Including exclusive skills, Mythical Diné can learn up to 27 skills in total.
- Mythical Diné's base price is higher than the combined prices of two Lv. 30 Dinés (male and female). However, due to its rare breed, this mythical creature is currently not being sold in the Horse Market.
- Mythical Diné is a legendary dream horse born from Mythical Awakening and does not specify a gender.
* Mythical Diné consumes Breath of Okiara to gallop across waters for a certain period of time, but cannot traverse the deep seas.

● Details on Mythical Diné's inherent skills are as follows.

* You can use all horse skills excluding land-based attacks during Quicksilver.
* Earth of Life now cures desert illnesses when used by a Mythical Diné.
● Mythical Diné consumes the "Breath of Okiara" with the Quicksilver skill to gallop across water.
- You can check your Mythical Diné's "Breath of Okiara" upon mounting the steed.

- The Breath of Okiara will be recovered naturally under the following circumstances:
* Idle, moving, and using skills while mounted on land
* While idle on land
- When it's filled up to a certain level, you can consume Breath of Okiara with the Quicksilver skill to gallop across water.
- Using Quicksilver at shallow waters or swamps such as Catfishman Camp, Swamp Naga and Swamp Fogan Habitats, and Tshira Ruins, will not consume the Breath of Okiara.
- Consuming all Breath of Okiara will dismount you from your Mythical Diné. (Mythical Diné assumes an aquatic form to commune with the waters.)
● Mythical Diné will take on an aquatic form when dismounted while standing in the swamps or atop water.
- You can dismount from Mythical Diné while standing on water. You can also mount Mythical Diné while swimming (as long as there's Breath of Okiara to spare.)
* You can mount Mythical Diné with a matchlock equipped, but cannot gallop across water while it's still equipped.
Atoraxxion Improvements
In order to make Atoraxxion more enjoyable, we removed the "10,000 Agris Fever point" cost for the weekly reward quests and increased the drop chance for items needed to access each zone in the dungeon and the "Circuit of Special Information" that grant special knowledge. We hope these changes will encourage more Adventurers to challenge Atoraxxion.

● Improved the following items, which are required to craft items that grant access to each zone in Atoraxxion, to now have a 100% chance to drop.

● Improved the weekly Atoraxxion quests to no longer cost Agris Fever points.
- Before: 10,000 Agris Fever points consumed upon accepting the quest
- After: 0 Agris Fever points consumed
- Affected quests: [Weekly] Vahmalkea: Desert Chest, [Weekly] Vahmalkea: Hystriah Chest, [Weekly] Vahmalkea: Aakmah Chest I, [Weekly] Vahmalkea: Aakmah Chest II, [Weekly] Sycrakea: Abyssal Chest, [Weekly] Sycrakea: Astran Chest, [Weekly] Sycrakea: Prottia Chest I, [Weekly] Sycrakea: Prottia Chest II

● Increased the drop rate for "Circuit of Special Information" that grant knowledge for certain monsters of Atoraxxion.
Item
● Changed Venomous Night Fangs to now be stackable in one inventory slot.
- The recipe for "Ibedor's Scroll" was changed to "Simple Alchemy (L) with Venomous Night Fang x5," accordingly.
* All relevant items in your inventory or storage has been moved to the storage in O'draxxia.

● Shakatu has carried out some restoration work regarding "Rich Merchant's Ring Pieces."
- Bring "Rich Merchant's Ring Piece" to Shakatu, who will inspect and identify them as an "Al Yurad's Ring Piece."
- The "Al Yurad's Ring Piece" is visibly distinct compared to the original "Rich Merchant's Ring Piece."
- While still serving as part of a whole just like the original "Rich Merchant's Ring Piece," you will now be able to visibly confirm its proper orientation for the ring's construction.
* You can use both original rich merchants and new Al Yurad's ring pieces and combine them to form the Rich Merchant's Ring.
- Getting a ring piece inspected by Shakatu will grant you knowledge on each of Al Yurad's Ring Pieces (5 in total).
- If you crafted the Rich Merchant's Ring without obtaining all 5 Al Yurad's Ring Piece knowledge entries, you can talk to Shakatu to obtain them without spending any Energy.

We're adding a processing recipe and quests to revert Combatant's Stone back into Narchillan gear.
Use Heating on Combatant's Stones and Narchillan gear to reobtain Spirit's First Breath, and bring 7 of these to Fughar to reobtain the 7 different Narchillan gear types.
If you are ever in need of the Combatant Stones once more, use Heating on the Combatant's Stone Fragment obtained earlier along with a Spirit's First Breath to reobtain the Combatant's Stone.

We're also adding a recurring quest to obtain the Canon weapon required for obtaining Narchillan gear.

● Added the means to revert Combatant's Stones once converted from Narchillan gear back into gear.
1. Use Heating (L) on Combatant's Stone (Weapon/Armor) to obtain "Spirit's First Breath" and "Combatant's Stone Fragment (Weapon/Armor)."
2. Use Heating (L) on each piece of Narchillan gear to obtain "Spirit's First Breath" as well.
3. Bring 7 "Spirit's First Breath" to Fughar and accept the "[Special Aid] By the Power of Narchillan Once More" quest.
4. Complete this quest to obtain all 7 Narchillan gear types.
* The Combatant's Stone Fragment can be combined with "Spirit's First Breath" to reobtain the Combatant's Stone.
* "Spirit's First Breath" in your inventory and storage will automatically be moved to your storage in Heidel.

● Changed [Berserker] Mountain Guardian Spirit Outfit Set (Helmet and Armor) to be exchangeable for the following outfit pieces through Tranan Underfoe in Velia after the May 18, 2022 (Wed) maintenance.
- You must have unequipped your [Berserker] Mountain Guardian Spirit Outfit Set/Helmet/Armor into your inventory to make the exchange.

[NA/EU] Patch Notes Summary - May 11, 2022

Greetings Adventurers,

Here are the latest update details for Black Desert Online on May 11, 2022 (Wed).
Artifact Inventory Preset
We have added the Artifact Preset function to make it easier for Adventurers to use artifacts.
After the release of the Artifact Inventory, we worked hard to get the preset function out as quickly as possible.

You can now create presets by selecting the "Edit Preset" button in the Artifact Inventory. Then you can select the "Equip" button of a preset to equip and manage your artifacts.
Especially since the Artifact Inventory is shared within your Family, this function makes it convenient for you to manage artifacts across multiple characters.

We hope you will enjoy and take advantage of the new Artifact Present function.

● Added the Artifact Preset function.
- You can equip and manage designated artifacts using the preset function.
- Select the "Edit Preset" button in the Artifact Inventory to save an artifact preset.
- You can save up to 10 presets.
- You can change the names of the presets when you edit a preset.
- You can see what kind of lightstone combination effect you will get with the artifacts via the "View Effects" button.
- You can equip the preset artifacts by selecting the "Equip" button.
* When you equip artifacts in a preset, then the artifacts you already had equipped will automatically be moved to your Artifact Inventory.
* You must have at least 2 slots available in your Inventory to equip artifact presets.
- The icon of artifacts that are not currently in your Artifact Inventory will be marked red.
World Boss Improvements
We have adjusted the difficulty of the stronger world bosses such as Stormbringer Karanda, Nightmarish Kzarka, Bloodstorm Nouver, and Thundercloud Kutum.

We've reduced the damage of certain difficult-to-avoid and one-hit-kill attacks (regardless of being at appropriate DP levels), and slightly increased the damage of certain attacks that were previously negligible to avoid. We also worked on improving the visibility of the range and patterns of boss attacks so that Adventurers would be able to better react to and avoid them.

We also drastically reduced the amount of time Bloodstorm Nouver spends in flight and made Thundercloud Kutum's debuff to now be purified by 1 Adventurer instead of the previous 3, thus rewarding our Adventurers for properly managing these boss mechanics. Regarding boss rewards, we are still undergoing much discussion as we look over our data. We ask that you also share your feedback and opinions with us as well.

Stormbringer Karanda
● Adjusted some of the attack patterns and difficulty of Stormbringer Karanda.
- Reduced damage on some of the attacks.
- Improved the hit area markers to display earlier.
- Changed the attacks that did not display a hit area marker but were telegraphed by the boss' motion to display markers.
- Improved the visibility of some of the hit area markers.
- Reduced the strength of the attack that pushes Adventurers away.

Nightmarish Kzarka
● Adjusted some of the attack patterns and difficulty of Nightmarish Kzarka.
- Reduced damage on some of the attacks.
- Improved the hit area markers to display earlier.
- Changed the attacks that did not display a hit area marker but were telegraphed by the boss' motion to display markers.
- Reduced the strength of the attack that pulled Adventurers in.
- Removed the rocks that fell immediately after Adventurers were pulled in.
- Changed Remnants of Kzarka so that characters can move through them.

Bloodstorm Nouver
● Adjusted some of the attack patterns and difficulty of Bloodstorm Nouver.
- Reduced the frequency of attacks where he would take flight and becomes invincible.
- Changed the aerial attacks so he would land sooner.
- Reduced damage on some of the attacks.
- Adjusted the hit area of certain attacks.

- Improved the visibility of some of the hit area markers.
● Changed the "Purify" buff that used to be obtained when 3 Adventurers that purified the clouds gathered together to be obtainable by themselves.
* Buff Effects: Significantly increases Extra AP Against Monsters, Movement Speed, Attack Speed, and Casting Speed
Item
● Increased the Silver prices of Pearl items and amount of extractable Valks' Cry and Cron Stones from all Pearl Outfits that can be registered on the Central Market.

● Improved the usage of items to be displayed first before how to obtain the items for improved item descriptions of existing items.
Monster
● Changed the location of Dark Rifts that appear at the Orc Camp and the Bloody Monastery.
- The Dark Rift that appeared at the Orc Camp was moved to Alejandro Farm.
- The Dark Rift that appeared at the Bloody Monastery was moved to Southern Mountain Range.

● Changed unskippable cutscenes to now be skippable from the second time you proceed through the Mountain of Eternal Winter main questline.
- You can now skip cutscenes you couldn't previously skip when proceeding with the main questline with another character upon completing the following additional quests after completing the main questline once.
- Cutscenes can be skipped after completing [Everfrost] Journey's End, which you can accept from the Black Spirit after completing Mountain of Eternal Winter: [Everfrost] Beyond the Doors of Alyaelli.
● Improved the alignment and visibility of the list of Suggested and Recurring quests on the Quests (O) window.

Season A to Z

[NA/EU] Patch Notes Summary - May 4, 2022

Greetings Adventurers,

Here are the latest update details for Black Desert Online on May 4, 2022 (Wed).
Artifact/Lightstone Inventory
An artifact inventory applied to the entire Family was added so you can now manage and keep your artifacts and lightstones separately. We developed this inventory with the purpose of adding a separate space that allows you to manage artifacts and lightstones without taking up your existing inventory, also taking into consideration the greater variety of artifacts and lightstones to be added in the future.

The inventory was created so that you can store up to 30 artifacts, and for lightstones, each one stored will be stacked and displayed similarly to the "Palette" feature.

Additionally, the artifact inventory is shared amongst your Family. All of your characters can manage the items stored in the inventory, but when you infuse or unequip any stored artifacts or lightstones, please take note that you must move them from your artifact inventory to your regular inventory.

Artifacts and lightstones were updated in hopes of providing great variety to how you enjoy the game. We are considering upgrading presets and other functions to broaden utilization in addition to the update of new artifacts and lightstones, so we hope you look forward to it. Thank you.

● Added an artifact inventory which allows you to store artifacts and lightstones separately from your regular inventory.
- The artifact inventory applies to your entire Family.
- You can use it via the "Artifact Inventory" button on the bottom of the Inventory UI.
- The same items will be stacked and take up a single slot, which will enable you to easily check the quantities of a single type of item.
- Small icons for lightstones will be displayed so you can get an idea of the current infused artifacts in the inventory without having to check the tooltips.
- You can use the filter on the bottom to look for fire, earth, wind, and special lightstones held in the inventory.

The durability of artifacts will now be unlimited, as mentioned during the QNA session of CalpheON Episode 2. There may have been some Adventurers who've used Item Brand Spell Stones due to the immense durability consumption of artifacts. The precious Item Brand Spell Stones that you used will be sent to your in-game mailbox.

● Changed the durability of artifacts to now be unlimited.
- Due to this change, the durability will no longer be displayed on the durability consumption UI and item descriptions of artifacts.
- The Item Brand Spell Stones used on artifacts were sent to your in-game mailbox.
Season Drakania Graduation Begins!
● Fughar, the Crow Merchants Guild Chief Manager, is lending a hand in converting your season character who has completed the Season: Drakania into a normal character.

- Details for the Season: Drakania graduation are as follows:

● Added a "Season Special Gift" quest that you can accept and complete via the 2022 Season: Drakania graduation.
- You can exchange the Season Special Gift Exchange Coupon obtained from the aforementioned quest for one of the following six special rewards from Fughar.
Preparing in Advance for Drakania's Awakening Weapon
● Added the following so that you can prepare for Drakania's awakening weapon to be released in the future in Season: Drakania.
- The Tuvala Pendant has been added. (* The item cannot be equipped but will later be exchanged into an awakening weapon when Awakening is released.)
- You can obtain the pertaining item with a season Drakania through a quest via Fughar.
- You can obtain a PRI (I) Tuvala Pendant upon completing the "[Season] For the Future - Tuvala Pendant" quest through Fughar.
- You can enhance the Tuvala Pendant up to PEN (V) enhancement level.
* You can enhance it with Time-filled Black Stones and Refined Magical Black Stones, and repair durability with Tuvala Ores. You can also use Heating on a Tuvala Pendant to obtain one Tuvala Ore.
* You can use the Tuvala Awakening Weapon Exchange Coupon to exchange another class' Tuvala awakening weapon into the Tuvala Pendant with your Drakania.
- You can convert the Tuvala Pendant from a season item to a normal item by using [Season] Tuvala Awakening Weapon Conversion Stones.
* The Tuvala Pendant will automatically be exchanged into Drakania's Tuvala awakening weapon when her Awakening is released.
* You can obtain the Tuvala Pendant either as a quest reward or by exchanging one Tuvala Ore for a Tuvala Awakening Weapon Box containing the Tuvala Pendant at a blacksmith in any major city (applies to season and non-season Drakanias).
Item
● Changed the following items to no longer display a world alert and make your character you cheer with joy upon obtaining them:
- Bensho's Necklace, Ancient Guardian's Seal, Necklace of Shultz the Gladiator, Witch's Earring, Mark of Shadow, Rainbow Coral Ring, Kagtum Submission Ring, Tree Spirit Belt, Ancient Weapon Core, Blue Whale Meat, Clear Blackstar Crystal, Liverto Weapon Box, and Liverto Weapon Bundle

We placed the “usage” section of the improved item descriptions at the top for this week's update so that you can more clearly see how an item is to be used. Item descriptions that will be updated later will also be improved so that you can check their usage first. Also, the items that already have the improved item descriptions will be revised again after the said change is done being applied.

● Improved the item descriptions for 322 items including Magic Crystals, potions, Enchanted Scrolls, etc.
Quest, Knowledge
The "Barrier of Infestation" content, where you could directly face off against a World Boss, is one of various ways from which you can obtain permanent stat bonuses outside of upgrading your weapon. We changed Kzarka of the Barrier of Infestation to be able to be attempted by a single person as we decided that they can be defeated without the help of other Adventurers.

● Changed the Barrier of Infestation (I to III) quests to a solo quest.
- The difficulty level was lowered and adjusted, due to the quests being changed to solo quests.

Papua Crinea is both a place designed to put Adventurers' minds at ease, providing a bit of a respite for exhausted adventures, while also inhabited by cute and cuddly Otters and Papus. With transformation scrolls, you are able to turn into a Papu or an Otter and see their stories unfold on this island. To keep to the idea that the islands should serve as a place of "healing," we've improved the "Stoneback Crab" quests in Papua Crinea so that our Adventurers can now complete them singlehandedly.

● Improved the Papua Crinea quests as follows:
- The [Co-op Daily] Intelligent Stoneback Crab is no longer a co-op quest and is now available for solo questing.
* Quest difficulty was adjusted to be solo-able by a single Adventurer.
- [For the Thousand Year War] Intelligent Stoneback Crab quests' difficulty levels were adjusted accordingly.
* Dumb Stoneback Crabs, Mediocre Stoneback Crabs, Intelligent Stoneback Crabs, Extraordinary Stoneback Crabs, and Bloodthirsty Stoneback Crabs difficulty levels were also reduced.

The increase in Contribution EXP rewarded from quests will also be applied for 183 quests in Valencia, 103 quests in Kamasylvia, and 75 quests in Drieghan, following the previous increase in Contribution EXP rewarded from quests that have been applied for two weeks in other regions. We are planning to apply an increase in Contribution EXP rewards up to O'dyllita and the Mountain of Eternal Winter.

● Increased the Contribution EXP of 183 quests in Valencia.
● Increased the Contribution EXP of 103 quests in Kamasylvia.
● Increased the Contribution EXP of 75 quests in Drieghan.
Conquest War, Node War
To increase the strategic element of Recovery Centers as the battle rages on during Node/Conquest Wars, we decided to change how the centers impact the cooldown for reviving characters. Whereas previously the centers only reduced your maximum cooldown timer for revival, they will now reduce the amount of cooldown time left before your character can be revived once more. We hope this change will not only increase the strategic value of Recovery Centers but also boost the pace of battle during Node/Conquest Wars.
After this update goes live, we will keep a close eye on whether this change greatly hinders the defensive side and make adjustments accordingly.

● Improved the cooldown reduction effect applied to revival that was dependent on the number of installed Recovery Centers during Node/Conquest Wars as follows.
- Before: 6 sec reduced from the maximum revival cooldown (60 sec) per installed Recovery Center
- After: 6 sec reduced from your currently remaining revival cooldown per installed Recovery Center (up to 10 sec left on the timer.)
* Ex 1) If you have 15 seconds of cooldown remaining before you can revive again, one installed Recovery Center will reduce that timer to 10 sec.
* Ex 2) If you have 30 seconds of cooldown remaining before you can revive again, one installed Recovery Center will reduce that timer to 24 sec.
* Details on the revival cooldown during a Node/Conquest War are as follows:
- Once a Node/Conquest War begins, the revival cooldown increases 1 sec every min and 1 sec per each death.
- Each installed Recovery Center will reduce 6 sec from the revival cooldown timer. (The Recovery Centers' effect will be applied once the cooldown timer is at least 60 sec.)
- The revival cooldown timer will be a minimum of 10 sec to a maximum of 60 sec for Node/Conquest Wars.
* Installed Recovery Centers will reduce the cooldown revival timer no lower than 10 seconds total.
> You can read the rest of details of the update here <
