Enhanced skills have finally arrived for our new latest classes, Shai and Guardian. Push your powers to the new limit and discover new skills for both of them!

Also, we are approaching the Season of Life, and that means Life Skillers are in luck as they will be enjoying Life EXP boost and new events for a limited time. This is the perfect time to reach a new level in your favorite Life Skill and earn some good rewards!

Last but not least, help Lara and some children make their wishes come true by sending wish lanterns to the skies of Black Desert Online!

• Patrigio's Shop Renewal
  
  • Period: May 13 (after maintenance)–May 20 (before maintenance)
    
  • During the event period, Patrigio will present new and changed offers in his secret shop.
    
  • Patrigio can be found in various regions like Velia, Heidel, Calpheon City, Altinova, and Valencia City. Or search his name in Nearby NPC menu window brought up by pressing Find NPC icon on top right corner of your screen.
    
  • Patrigio will only open up his shop from 10:00 PM–07:00 AM (in-game time).
    
  • Don't forget 50 energy will be consumed to check his list of offers.
    

• Newly Discovered Treasures
  
  • Period: April 29 (after maintenance)–May 27 (before maintenance)
    
  • During the event period, the following rare items, considered as treasures, will be available in additional areas.
    
  • The treasures will be available to obtain in all servers including Olvia and Arsha.

[h3]Reward Distribution[/h3]

• The following compensation will be sent to all adventurers (EU and NA) for the staggered maintenance performed earlier this week to resolve the non-loot issue that occurred on April 30 when Garmoth spawned in the NA Kamasylvia 4 server.
  
  • Case 1: For both EU and NA adventurers.
    
    • This applies to any adventurer who were logged into the game 30 minutes before and after Garmoth's death (April 30 19:55 PDT–April 30 20:55 PDT or April 30 21:55 CEST–April 30 22:55 CEST) but were not in the NA Kamasylvia 4 server.
      
    • Compensation: Garmoth Reward Bundle (Advanced) x1
      
  • Case 2: For NA adventurers who experience the non-loot issue
    
    • This applies to any adventurer in the NA server who were logged into NA Kamasylva 4 server 30 minutes before and after Garmoth's death (April 30 19:55 PDT–April 30 20:55 PDT).
      
    • Compensation: Garmoth Reward Bundle (Advanced) x2
      
  • Please note Case 1 and Case 2 compensations do not stack and Case 2 takes precedence over Case 1. This means if you fall under Case 2, you will receive only the compensation for Case 2.
    
  • If you were logged in but inactive during the periods mentioned above, you may not be eligible to receive the rewards.
    
  • Please check your in-game mailbox after maintenance if you fall in the group above.
    

• Additional Garmoth Summon
  
  • On Thursday May 14, Garmoth will appear one additional time in both EU and NA servers.
    
    • After the initially-summoned Garmoth is defeated on Thursday, a second one will appear within a few minutes.
      

[h3]Content[/h3]

[h3]Major Update: Guardian[/h3]

• Guardian Enhanced Skills were added.
  
  • The first Enhanced Skill can be learned after reaching Lv. 56, and the second Enhanced Skill can be learned after reaching Lv. 57.
    
  • You must first learn any relevant preceding skills in order to learn the Enhanced Skills.
    
  • You can only learn one out of the two Enhanced Skills available for each level (this means you will ultimately have a choice of two skills out of four).
    

[h3]Major Update: Shai[/h3]

Shai is such an unique class, and we originally envisioned that through Talent her skillset will be solid enough without Skill Enhancement. However, many of you have constantly asked for Skill Enhancement for Shai. That is why we have decided to add in this content after all, in a way that will highlight Shai's uniqueness.

The Lv. 56 Enhanced Skills will summon light from the vitclari that will follow an enemy or ally for various effects. Over There! will follow one enemy and attack them, while Sharing is Caring will follow an enemy or ally to heal your nearby allies. During the skill Sharing is Caring, if the light comes across an enemy before an ally it will follow the enemy, but it will still heal any of your allies near that enemy and will not heal any enemies.

The Lv. 57 skills will use the florang to deal damage. Twirl-Boom! swiftly and powerfully attacks enemies while Tumble Wumble! deals less damage but raises your defense and applies a bound effect in PvE.

• Shai Enhanced Skills were added.
  
  • The first Enhanced Skill can be learned after reaching Lv. 56, and the second Enhanced Skill can be learned after reaching Lv. 57.
    
  • You must first learn any relevant preceding skills in order to learn the Enhanced Skills.
    
  • You can only learn one out of the two Enhanced Skills available for each level (this means you will ultimately have a choice of two skills out of four).
    

• Added the "Garnier Troupe" Chat Group where you can discuss Compose and Play related content.
  
  • The actual Compose and Play feature will be added during the May 20 maintenance.
    

• Increased the maximum level of the guild skill Ample Storage.
  
  • Therefore, the maximum number of guild storage slots have been increased too.
    

• Changed the rate at which Black Spirit's Rage recovers as follows.
  
  • Before
    
    • +0.15% per sec
      
  • After
    
    • +1.5% per 10 sec
      
  • Therefore, the description of Shai's skill Time to Shine! has been changed.
    

[h3]System[/h3]

• Optimized the system to improve upon the lag issues that occur when too many adventurers congregate in one location.
  
  
• Added Performance Optimization settings to the Settings > Performance Settings > Optimization settings.
  
  • Turning on the Performance Optimization settings will enhance the game's performance, but will increase the memory usage.
    

[h2]Game World, NPC & Effects[/h2]

[h3]NPC[/h3]

• Many adventurers have visited Oquilla's Eye, and now the areas around Oquilla Coast have been expanded, opening up new seaways.
  
  
• Improvements were made so that interactions with Cook Weikid Taha at Kusha in Mediah would not be impeded by the cooking objects.
  
  
• Fixed the issue where the Enhanced Manshaum Totem at the cave in Manshaum Forest would remain as a question mark (?) on the minimap even after gaining the relevant knowledge.
  
  • The question mark for the NPC above can be removed by obtaining the knowledge of "Brand of Ahib."
    

• Yianaros the Spirit, which only appears during the Kamasylvia sub-quests, will no longer appear as a question mark (?) in the minimap.

• The aiming point for FocusFire was changed.
  
  • It shapes into the form of an arc depending on the distance.

After much thought while in the midst of event preparation, we decided to hold our first-ever “Global Ball” through the form of an “Online Event” to let Adventurers of NA/EU meet Adventurers from across the globe.

Living up to the title, “Black Desert Heidel Ball: AT HOME”, you’ll be able to meet Adventurers from Korea, Japan, Russia, North America, Europe, Taiwan, South America, Turkey, the MENA region, and Southeast Asia from the comfort of your own home.

Many regions, united by the love for Black Desert… ♥

Keeping in mind that we may all speak different languages and come from different cultural backgrounds, we did our best to create a meaningful and festive event for all Black Desert Adventurers. (๑˘ꇴ˘๑)

We wanted to bring together Adventurers worldwide, and share what's coming up for Black Desert. On top of that, we wanted to host a variety of fun-filled events for everyone!

• Adventurers with [Princess Jarette's Invitation] will get together in a special place on the day of the ball to enjoy the event and participate in a Q & A session.
  
• Adventurers who are selected for [Princess Jarette's Invitation] will receive in-game rewards (title and items).
  
• The entire Heidel Ball: AT HOME will be broadcasted live on Youtube and Twitch, so anyone can join from the comfort of their home even without [Princess Jarette's Invitation].
